Victor's face was ghastly. He grabbed a team member and said, "Forget it, it's not an official match. They aren't going to take any action."
A tall boy said with a gloomy expression on his face, "Are we going to let them succeed?"
Victor looked at Simon's injured leg and sighed, "We have no choice. Captain, you'd better go to the infirmary first."
"I'm fine." Simon opened a bottle of mineral water and cleaned the wound. He frowned as he said, "I'll go after the game is finished. I won't die."
Victor knew that he was feeling down too, so he did not continue talking about it. He turned his head sideways, glimpsing at Scarlet who was sitting at the audience seat. She was only three or four meters away. Simon was only a few seats away from Sara, but Victor felt Scarlet was so far away.
He didn't know what he was feeling when he took the tissues and sent it for a lab test at the hospital. While waiting for the result, he doubted himself. Should he really believe Eva?
Eva was very obedient. She always tolerated her spoiled sister, Scarlet. He doubted Eva based on a strange girl's accusations, Was he over reacting?
However, when he recalled the cold look in Scarlet's eyes, he restrained himself from turning around and leave, until the results of the test were out.
It really was chicken blood. The test result was showed clearly in front of him, so he had to believe it.
Eva lied to him.
At that moment, the first thought that came to his mind was not the anger of being cheated but Scarlet's swollen cheek and the stoniness in her eyes.
Victor pursed his lips. After thinking it over, he walked over and said, "Scarlet."
Scarlet looked up at him languidly. Her arms were crossed, she leaned on the chair lazily, "What's the matter?"
Victor sighed, "I wanted to apologize to you. but it may not be a good timing now..."
Scarlet replied impatiently, "What on earth do you want to say?"
Victor gave a wry smile, "I wronged you before. Does your face still hurt?"
Scarlet's expression changed. She said sarcastically, "Thanks for your concern, it doesn't hurt anymore."
Victor wanted to say something more, but the referee had already called for them. He fought back the urge to explain further to Scarlet and turned to Sara and said, "Miss Sara, you have some medical skills. Could you possibly stop Simon's wound from bleeding? He insisted on staying here until the game is over. I'm a little worried..."
As Simon had specially dropped by to talk to Sara, Victor thought that Sara had an extraordinary relationship with Simon.
Who would have thought that the little girl who looked soft would say in a very soft voice, "He won't die."
Victor was speechless.
The game continued.
The situation was not optimistic for Scrollania College.
They did not have great chemistry and seemingly could not understand their team members' thinkings during the game. The substitute of Simon wasn't bad, but under an intense match, Soya University easily triumphed over Scrollania College. The first half of the game ended at 5:12.
Unless the lives of all members of Soya University were suddenly forfeited, Scrollania College would not be able to fight back in the second half of the game.
The substitute kept apologizing dejectedly. Victor wiped his sweat with a towel, opened the bottle cap of his mineral water and took a sip. Then, he said helplessly, "It's not your fault. I didn't intend to let you go onto the court initially."
Nonetheless, the substitute kept apologizing.
The wild screaming from the audience had stopped, turning into a buzzing discussion. After all, everyone was expecting their school basketball team could have easily defeated Soya. Teenagers took everything to heart, it would be embarrassing to lose the basketball match that day.
The girls were quietly supporting their respective boys on the team. It was mostly the boys who were unrelenting, some of them were standing up to chide the basketball team for playing lousily.
The reputation of the team was at stake. Simon was calm, it seemed as though he didn't hear those harsh comments at all. He composedly held back a team member who wanted to retort at the crowd. He shook his head and said, "They are right. We have no hope if we go on this way."
The substitute looked like he was about to cry, "...It's all my fault. If Captain wasn't injured, things would not have turned out this way..."
Victor said, "It has nothing to do with you.
Whether win or not, we still have to play until the end. Everyone should hurry and take a rest."
All of a sudden, he widened his eyes, "Captain, your wound..."
Simon looked down and saw that the wound was infected. It might have been caused by the high surrounding temperature as there were too many people on the court.
Victor put the bottle down and said, "Wait a minute."
He got up and walked to Sara. He squatted down and said sincerely, "Miss Sara, aren't you studying medicine? Doctors should be kind, you can't refuse to help him."
Freya pulled Sara away behind her, "What are you doing? Are you trying to morally kidnap her?"
Victor said helplessly, "Simon refused to go to the infirmary. The wound is infected. If it goes on like this..."
Freya said, "Just send him to the hospital then. Don't act all high and mighty! His fans must have bought some ointment for him!"
"..." Victor was silent for a moment. He then continued speaking, "When Simon was injured on the court last time, he was hospitalized for half a month after using the ointment others gave."
Freya was silent.
Indeed, people of their status would be particular about the medication they took. Hence, they would not just apply any ointment offered by others.
Victor let out a cough and said, "Simon is a stubborn person. He insisted on watching the game. Miss, just treat it as if you are doing a good deed..."
Freya looked at Sara worriedly. "Sara, just don't go if you don't want to."
Sara was a little helpless. People must be staring at her. It seemed as though she couldn't get rid of Simon, no matter how she tried. Thus, she nodded, "I'll go with you to have a look."
Victor was delighted, "Thank you."
Freya was worried so she followed behind. After giving it a thought, Scarlet got up and tagged along as well.
Sara often got injured, so she always brought medicine with her. Without looking at Simon's face, she squatted down in front of him and examined the wound.
Simon was startled, "Sara, you..."
Sara's long eyelashes drooped as her gaze fixed on the wound, ignoring him.
The wound was actually not serious, she just had to apply some basic antiseptic on it. She took out a piece of tissue from her pocket and wiped around the wound. She then applied antiseptic on it. It was so sore, Simon could barely hold back a scream.
Sara asked without raising her head, "Is it fractured?"
Simon's forehead was full of cold sweat, "...Yeah."
