The rage inside Scarlet had been exploded. She could barely restrain from ripping Eva into shreds. Just as she stepped forward, Eva smirked at her, "Oh, are you going to hit me? Come on! Let daddy see exactly what type of person his beloved eldest daughter is!"
Scarlet was furious, trembling. She somehow managed to stop her hand. She bit her lips so hard that it almost bled.
At that moment, a male's voice could be heard nearby. It was a clear, lilting voice with a hint of anxiety, "Eva? Eva, are you there?"
Eva suddenly looked serious. She glared at Scarlet and showed a vicious and poisonous smile, like a snake was about to devour its prey. Scarlet had grown wise and stopped bothering Eva. Hence, Eva had no reason to aim at her and lost interest to trick her anymore. It would be much better to let Scarlet lost everything and hated by everyone, including the Johnson family...
The man's voice startled Scarlet. Before she came out of her trances, Eva was already grabbing her hand. She didn't do anything harmful to Scarlet. Instead, Eva fell over herself, injuring her knees and elbows. There was fresh blood flowing from the wounds, looking appalling.
Scarlet stared at Eva, who was sitting helplessly on the ground. Just when she was about to ask, "Are you crazy?", a figure rushed over and held Eva up.

Scarlet's lips turned pale and was shivering a little. She said helplessly, "...No, no l didn't, Victor... Victor, listen to me..."
Victor replied, "There is no need to explain. I have eyes to see." He looked at Scarlet coldly, his gaze reflecting disappointment and helplessness, "I'm just disappointed. How did you become like this?"
Scarlet bit her lower lip. Unlike Eva, her pride did not allow her to act innocent like Eva did. Thus, she sneered, "Yes, I pushed her! What's the matter?! She's just an illegitimate daughter and her mother is a home-wrecker. She doesn't deserve to be part of the Johnson family!"
She was so angry that she couldn't control herself. Hence, she said, "Pushing her? That's easy! Even if I kill her, what could you do? Victor Dallas, you fell for this b*tch, don't you?!"
.." Victor gritted his teeth, "Scarlet, you've changed. You weren't like this before."
"I've always been like this!" Scarlet yelled, "It's you who's changed! Victor Dallas! It's you!"
Victor tightened his hands while holding Eva. He sighed lightly and spoke slowly, "... Yes, I have changed." He took a deep breath and then continued, "Since that's the case, let's just call off the engagement."
Scarlet was stunned.
Eva played the victim and buried her face into Victor's embrace, hiding a smug smile.

Scarlet looked at Victor an incredulously, "What did you say?"
"I said." Victor looked her square in the eyes. "I said that I want to cancel the engagement. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy to spend your life with someone like me."
"Victor Dallas!" Scarlet screamed, hysterical, "Are you crazy? How could you treat me this way because of Eva Johnson, that b*tch... you said this to me just because of that b*tch..."
"Who's the b*tch here? Who's nobler in the world?" Victor looked at Scarlet coldly and said, "Eva didn't get to choose her family. It's not her fault!"
Scarlet tightened her fists, tears were welling up in her eyes. However, she didn't want to show any weakness, especially in front of that b*tch, Eva. All she could do was to hold the tears back, even her eyes reddened.
She looked at Victor and smiled, "Fine, Victor Dallas. You have done a great job! Since you're so in love with Eva, how about I find someone to rape her? Since you're so kind, you wouldn't leave her after that, right?"
She completely lost control. She didn't even know what she was saying. Victor widened his eyes. When Victor had come out of her trances, he had already slapped Scarlet.
Scarlet's cheek became swollen, blood dribbling out from the corner of her lips.
She raised her hand to wipe the corner of her lips. Looking at the blood on her thumb, she showed a smile on her face.
The smile on her face was so gorgeous, even the scene of a field of peonies in full bloom was nothing compared to that.
