It wasn't like people cared much about Eva, it was just that they wouldn't pass up any opportunity to diss Scarlet.
Scarlet took a deep breath and sneered at Victor, "You'd better do what you said. I don't give a sh*t about you. Anyway, you look good with the b*tch Eva."
Someone muttered, "Miss Johnson is really arrogant... She's still being so confident when she's the one who was wrong."
"There's nothing we can do, she's Scarlet Johnson after all."
"Poor Eva, imagine how much had she suffered."
"Honestly, I think it was right that Victor called off the engagement with Scarlet. I'm not defending the illegitimate daughter, Eva, but Scarlet's attitude is unbearable."
"Exactly. That's right."
Hearing the criticisms, Scarlet gritted her teeth and wanted to leave. However, Eva grabbed Scarlet's sleeve with her bloody arm, refusing to let her leave. "Sister... I'm sorry. I'll distance myself from Brother Victor in future. I will not talk to him anymore... Don't be mad at Brother Victor..."
Scarlet immediately pushed her aside.
Eva fell backward. Fortunately, Victor managed to catch her in time, preventing any further injury to her. Instantly, the guilt and anxiety he was feeling for Scarlet vanished, "Scarlet!"
Scarlet turned around and smirked, "You'd better pray that Victor will always be by your side. Otherwise, I have my ways of..."
Eva dropped tears, "Sister... I know I'm wrong... I really know it's my fault...Please don't..."
At first glance, it would seem obvious that she had been bullied by Scarlet for many times.
Victor glared at Scarlet with anger.
A sudden wave of exhaustion washed over Scarlet. For the first time, her gorgeous face looked pathetic.
She didn't want to think of Eva nor Victor, as well as the gossips... She pursed her lips, wanting to leave. Yet, someone grabbed her hand again.
She turned around impatiently, "Eva, are you done..."
It wasn't Eva who was stopping her. It was Sara.
"What are you doing?" Scarlet frowned. She smirked as she thought of something, "Are you here to add fuel to the fire?"
Sara shook her head, "I'm not interested in that. Give me a minute, I have something to show you."
Scarlet was at a loss for words. She thought, "Is this illegitimate daughter crazy?"
Sara rummaged in her pocket for a pack of tissues, which was lightly medicinally scented. She took one piece of the tissues out and handed it to Scarlet, "Use this to wipe your face. It will relieve the pain."
Scarlet stared doubtfully at the tissue which was light brown in colour. She laughed. almost angrily, "Are you kidding? This is just an ordinary tissue!"
Sara did not say anything. She directly put the tissue on Scarlet's face.
Scarlet asked loudly, "... What are you doing?! What are you doing?! It hurts!!...Ouch..."
Sara withdrew her hand and said, "It doesn't hurt."
Scarlet said, "... It really doesn't hurt."
Sara then passed her the tissue and said, "Take it yourself."
"...Okay." Miss Scarlet was an understanding person sometimes. Her face was so sore. Therefore, she placed the tissue on her face and it got better.
Sara turned to speak to Eva, "I'll clean the wound for you."
Victor and Eva both knew Sara, the "big shot". Eva thought that Sara was feeling sorry for her as an illegitimate daugther. She smiled slightly and said, "...It's okay. I'll go to the infirmary later..."
Sara replied, "The injury might look serious but it's actually just a minor scratch. The floor was quite clean, there's no gravel. Just apply some ointment and it should be fine. There's no need to go to the infirmary,"
Eva was speechless.
Sara promptly squatted down and took out a piece of tissue to dab on Eva's knee. As expected, the wound was not deep. The wound was less than three centimetres, it was barely a scratch.
Seeing that she was treating Eva's wound, Scarlet was instantly enraged, "Hey!"
"Whose side are you on?"
Sara tossed the blood-stained tissue aside and said, "Give me a second."
Scarlet was speechless.
Victor frowned. ". Are you really sure there's no need to go to the infirmary? There's so much blood..."
Sara then took out a thumb-sized spray bottle from her bag, it was a dark brown concoction. She shook it to mix the precipitate evenly. She then sprayed it on Eva's knee, stood up and said casually, "Yes. The blood isn't even hers."
Eva's delicate face froze.
Sara also wiped the blood off her elbow. The wound on her elbow was even smaller, less than two centimetres. She sprayed some medicine on it and said to Eva, "Protect the wound from water for the next few days. Just put a plaster on it......Hmm, it doesn't matter if the wound gets wet.. It's not serious anyway."
Eva was speechless.
Victor stared at Sara and asked, "What do you mean?"
Sara's voice was soft, "Doctor's orders."
Victor said, "I mean, you said the blood wasn't from Eva's. What did you mean by that?"
"Oh, that's what you're talking about." Sara said, putting the bottle back in her bag. After thinking, she said, "Such a small wound is unlikely to cause bleeding. It's the blood of a chicken."
Eva's face darkened. She forced a smile and said, "...What do you mean? I have a rather weak body. Even the tiniest wound will cause a lot of bleeding to me..."
"Do you mean you have hemophilia, your blood doesn't clot?" Sara tilted her head, "If that's the case, a small wound would result in a lot of bleeding."
Eva nodded quickly, "Yes! That's right!" Sara chuckled, "But if it's haemophilia, the white blood cells wouldn't block your wound at all, which means, you should be bleeding right now!"
Eva's face froze.
Sara said, "In fact, just take a few samples to the hospital and carry out an basic laboratory test and we will find out if it's chicken blood or human blood. The structures of chicken blood and human blood are different as we find can superoxide dissimulates in the former which is SOD..." Sara stopped for a while. She felt that people might have found it hard to understand. Looking at the blood on the ground, she continued, "Human blood would be relatively thicker as it contains a higher concentration of sugar, whereas chicken blood would be thinner."
Everyone couldn't help but look at the pool of blood on the ground. The dark red blood looked just slightly thicker than water... it couldn't be classified as 'viscous'.
Eva gritted her teeth and said, "... Do you hold a grudge against me, mate?"
Sara was confused ... No, I don't." "Then why are you slandering me?" Eva said, tears in her eyes.
