Chapter 60

Ch. 60 / 324 Jul 29, 2025

Sara said, "Even if the police arrest a criminal who has committed a great crime, if he is injured, he has to receive treatment before appearing in the court. Besides, he may have been tricked."

Freya said, "What? If it were anyone else, I wouldn't say anything, but Finn must have done it himself. He was a good-for-nothing."

Sara smiled and put away the silver needles carefully, did not respond.

The police brought the members of Soya team away. After reassuring the students and giving a pep talk on drug abuse, they left.

Freya asked curiously, "Sara, are you studying medicine?"

Sara nodded, "Yeah. My family has worked in the medical field."

"No wonder." Freya replied.

Alex patted Sara's head, "Are you going back?"

Earlier, Sara had sent a message to Bella saying that she would go back later that day. Looking at the time, Bella should have already arrived to pick her up, so she nodded and ignored Simon, who was staring at her eagerly. She replied, "Yeah, I am."

Victor smiled at Simon and ran up to Sara. He said, "Little genius doctor, thank you very much for today."

The other members of the basketball team also followed and thanked her one after another, "Yeah, thank you."

"I used to slander you on the campus website, I apologize to you! You're just like a fairy!"

"I was prejudiced against you! I apologize to you too. From now on, you will be my big sister!"

"Without you, the Soya team would have been so arrogant."

She was startled. She looked at Freya blankly. Freya said with a grin, "You can thank Sara, but don't scare her. She's very timid."

Sara quickly hid behind Freya, "You are welcome, but I just did what I should do."

Victor asked curiously, "Little genius doctor, how did you know that the Soya team had taken stimulants?"

Sara replied, "...Don't call me that. I wasn't sure at first, but I heard from Simon that they were not good at playing basketball before, and I found that they weren't tired at all after the first half of the game. While our team was resting on the chair, they were still dribbling over there. They were too energetic, so I sensed something was wrong."

She was using a lot of technical lingo again. No one understood what she was saying. They looked at her awkwardly.

Sara stopped speaking.

"Basically, I observed them." She said.

"To express my gratitude, we'll treat you to dinner today, is that alright?" Victor proposed.

Sara shook her head, "I'm going back to do my homework, my ride is already here. Enjoy

They did not force her and saw her leave. Victor glanced at Simon, "Young Master Bishop, I don't think that girl is interested in you."

Simon held on to his injured leg stubbornly, "Our relationship is very complicated, you don't understand. She has a reason for how she acts."

Victor said, "...I hope it's not your imagination."

"But I think the little doctor is a good person. Although she is soft, she is stronger than anyone else when there is a need."

Simon looked very proud and replied, "That's for sure."

Victor was speechless. He wondered, "Why the hell are you being so proud!"

Alex looked at Simon with a faint smile, "Young Master Bishop, you'd better take good care of yourself. Don't overthink things. I'm leaving now."

Freya waved her hands and said, "I'm leaving too."

Victor turned to look at Scarlet. Just as he was about to speak, Scarlet said to Simon casually, "Young Master Bishop, take good care of yourself. I have to go back and vent to my father."

She ignored Victor.

Victor was speechless.

Nina was so angry that she flund the water bottle on her hand to the floor, "What the h*ll!"

William did not expect that Sara would have been in the spotlight. She was so annoyed that her voice turned cold, "Sara, you really are capable."

Nina glared at her angrily, "Thanks to your darling sister!"

William said, "She's just a swank. Nina, calm down."

Nina calmed down gradually when she thought of the photos she had. She stared at her phone for a long moment and said, "...Yes, why am I angry? I will not give Sara Martin a second chance."

When she arrived at the entrance of Angelfalls with Bella, Sara stopped.

The tip of her nose was quivering. She smelled... a pungent smell of blood.

Bella was reminded of something, his face changed. He let out a cough and said, "...Miss Martin, why don't you take a walk in the garden? I'm afraid Master Bishop is busy."

Sara did not question it further. She nodded obediently, "Okay."

Bella left in a hurry.

Sara held her bag. She didn't go for a walk. She squatted down at the entrance of Angelfalls, leaning against the cold wall.

It was still chilly in April. After a while, Sara felt cold in her limbs. When the cold wind was blowing, she felt as though she might catch a cold. She did not want to get sick, so she stood up hurriedly and stamped her feet to warm up. At that moment, she heard someone weeping suddenly, "Please... Please forgive me, Master Bishop! Please let him go... I won't do it again, I will never do it again..."

It was a woman's voice. It could've been a pleasant voice, but because she was wailing and crying, she sounded like a banshee instead.

Sara couldn't help but shiver. Her ankles were completely numb, she couldn't even stand up.

Sara puffed her cheeks and reached to massage her ankles.

The woman was still screaming. It was very heart-wrenching, making people irritated and discomforted at the same time. Intermittently, the sound of a man groaning in pain could be heard.

However, the woman's tragic begging for mercy was useless. There seemed to be no mercy. With a "bang", the woman screamed sharply and the place fell into complete silence.

Sara's heart skipped a beat because of the jars.

She felt a chill creep over her.

Although she did not see what was happening, she could tell from the sounds, being completely sure, that what a devil Hank was.

"Where is Jackie?" His voice seemed normal, pleasant and melodious.

Bella seemed to have a headache, "Since there's a commotion here, how could I let Miss Martin come in? I asked her to go for a walk."

Hank sneered, "Clean it up. I'll go and find her."

Sara's face turned pale from the chilly wind. Her legs and feet were numb, she still couldn't stand up. She held her knees and buried her face in her knees while holding her schoolbag, looking like a homeless stray.

The sound of footsteps drew closer and then a shadow loomed over her. Hank looked down at her, with the scent of blood. He asked, "Why are you here?"
