Chapter 50

Ch. 50 / 324 Jul 29, 2025

Ankle was one of the most sensitive parts of a person's body, especially for Sara. She did not know they were so sensitive as no one had ever touched her ankles. At that moment, numbness struck through her skin and bones. Her heart was pounding as well.

Hank managed to pull her out from the blanket. He asked with a smile, "What? Do you want to sleep with me?"

Her ankle was still in his grasp. Sara's face turned so red as she choked, "No, no..."

Hank frowned and turned her over. He saw tears shimmering in her round eyes, "I didn't say that I would punish you, why are you crying?"

Sara didn't have the courage to say that the tears was caused by his touch. She quickly took the opportunity to withdraw her feet, curl herself into a ball and scurried to her own bed. She then buried herself tightly in the blanket. She said in a muffled voice, "I... I'm going to sleep."

Hank studied her and felt that Sara would die of shame if he continued to tease her. Hence, he suppressed every indecent ideas he had and said, "Goodnight."

No one had bid him a goodnight for years. Although Sara was embarrassed, she couldn't help but smile and said softly, "Master Bishop, goodnight."

On the following day, Sara went to school as usual.

It was likely that after the two big shots, Scarlet and Alex, had spoken up for her, no one in school was blatantly pointing at her. Although they must still be badmouthing her behind her back, Sara felt much more comfortable.

Because it was Friday, they had a relaxed scheduled. Scrollania College only had two classes in the afternoon, so it was very relaxing,

William squinted at Sara, who was revising at her desk. Suddenly, she asked Nina, who was browsing Facebook, "Nina, are you going to the basketball match this afternoon?"

Nina instantly nodded, "Of course! Simon hasn't come to school for a few days. He'll definitely go to the basketball match, so I'm going to go cheer for him!" She then flung her phone into her drawer and pulled out a red banner with words written in white and a glow stick, "I even prepared these!"

William replied, "...The sports hall has a good lighting, there's no need for a light stick."

Nina waved her hand and said, "It's fine. It is just a formality."

William smiled, "Haven't you been a little distant with Sister Scarlet recently? Why don't you invite her to the basketball match as well?"

Nina hesitated.

She was unsure if Scarlet was in a bad mood, as she had ignored Nina after school on the previous day and did not reply to any of her messages or calls either. Nina was wondering what she had done to offend her on the previous night. Fortunately, when she arrived at class that day, Scarlet explained that it was because Eva had pissed her off so that she did not want to answer any calls. Nina only felt relieved.

William continued speaking, "Besides, without Sister Scarlet, the front-row will most definitely be occupied by those crazy fans of the school's basketball team. How could Simon be able to see you if we don't get a good seat?"

That made sense to Nina. She immediately walked over to Scarlet and invited her to the game with a broad smile.

Scarlet's eyes were a little swollen. Evidently, she cried in front of her father on the previous day, but no other traces visible on her face. She was not in the mood for that and replied, "No."

"Why?" Nina asked.

Scarlet glanced at her, "Is Simon the only person you care about? D*mn. Victor is also on the school's basketball team. I don't want to see him playing basketball."

Nina did not think about that. Hence, she instantly felt a little embarrassed. Just as she was about to drop it, William chimed in, "Sister Scarlet, you're not going to resolve anything if you keep avoiding him. Eva will gloat over it if you don't go. If you go and watch Victor play the match quietly, it will show that you no longer care about it.

It had to be said that William was really good at talking. Scarlet, who had no intention of going before, was suddenly struck with the urge to do so, "Really?"

William smiled, "Sister Scarlet, how would you know if you don't give it a shot?"

Scarlet thought over it for a moment and nodded, "Okay. It's just a basketball match anyway."

William had a light makeup on that day, looking soft and gentle. It would lead people to think of the word 'pureness' when she smiled. She said with a smile, "Sister Scarlet, you should invite Sara too. She just came here, it would be better if she could spend some time with us."

Nina immediately raised her eyebrows and asked, "Isn't she an illegitimate daughter? Why are you so concerned about her?"

William replied, "She is my sister after all.". Nina snorted.

Scarlet narrowed her eyes, "Alright."

"Will your watch the basketball match?" Sara put down the pen in her hand and thought about it, "Sure, but I have to inform my family first."

Scarlet showed an arrogant expression and said, "You'd better make up your mind quickly! It isn't easy to get a seat!"

Freya immediately raised her hand, "Hey! I'm going too!"

Scarlet glanced at her, "I'll reserve a seat for you if Sara is going."

Freya looked at her suspiciously, "Miss, is it because Sara saved you yesterday and you've changed your mind about her?"

Scarlet was speechless.

Sara asked with a puzzled face, "Huh?"

Scarlet was enraged, "Freya! What nonsense are you talking about!"

Freya said, "Why are you insisting on Sara going to the match then? You seem to have an ulterior motive."

*... Scarlet was a little discouraged. She dragged a chair over and rested her head on Sara's desk, "It's all because of Victor! If I don't go, Eva would definitely say that I couldn't forget him, or something like that..."

Freya was shocked, "But it's true, isn't it? You like Victor, don't you?"

Scarlet rolled her eyes, "Why would I still like him after everything that had happened? Do I look like an idiot?" She sighed, "Yesterday, I went back and cried to my father, blubbering that I didn't want to live anymore because Eva had stolen my lover and even my father... I told him that she framed me in school and so on. My father still dotes on me more, so he grounded Eva. That's why she's absent today. My father was too embarrassed to bring up the matter about marrying Eva's mother either."

Freya said, "Your father must love you a lot." Otherwise, he wouldn't have spoiled you.

Scarlet muttered, "Actually after Victor slapped me yesterday, I thought about a lot of things. I realized my perception was wrong. My parents never have feelings for each other, I'm the only connection between them. My mother even calls my father "Mr. Johnson". I forced them to be in love... I crossed the line."

It was rare for Scarlet to say something like that, so Freya quickly nodded, "Well said."

"That's why I forgive my father for his infidelity." Scarlet took a deep breath, "After all, he really loves me. I'm okay if If he wants to remarry, as long as it isn't Eva's mother."

Hank grabbed her ankle.
