Sara was slightly dazed from the cold wind. She raised her head in bewilderment and looked at Hank. However, her sensitive nose smelled a whiff of blood.
Hank asked in a low voice, "Are your legs numb?"
Sara didn't say anything. Hank bent down and tried to pick her up, but Sara quickly dodged as if she was frightened, like a tiny kitten. She was terrified by the smell of blood on his body. Although her eyes were wide, they were hazy and unfocused.
Hank pulled back his hands slowly, his narrow and cold eyes were filled with murderous rage and gloom.
It was like a sharp sword that could slit one's throat. The point of the sword was invincible, even monsters and ghosts had to retreat.
Hank stood up gradually and smiled. He said softly, "Are you afraid of me?"
Sara held her legs tightly, did not reply.
Suddenly, Hank choked her chin, lifted her head forcefully. His smile was like a sinister snake, attractive yet dangerous.
Hank's fingers ran through her smooth cheeks slowly, his slightly cold and rough fingers rubbed her delicate cheeks red. Hank whispered in Sara's ear dangerously, "Jackie, are you afraid of me?"
Sara's eyelashes were twitching as she replied with a pale face, "...Yes."
Hank sneered and looked at her coldly without saying anything.
There seemed to be a turbulent fate thrashing like a tornado which was about to whisk away someone and disappear with it.
Bella saw something was wrong. He said hastily, "Master Bishop..."
Hank glanced at him coldly, then turned around and went into the yard.
Bella heaved a sigh of relief. He thought that it was a great fortune that Miss Martin had kept her life. He did not dare to speak to Sara as he was afraid that Hank would be angry. Hence, he glanced at Sara, sighed and then went inside.
Sara looked at the moon blankly. It was curvy, chilling, looking so distant.
She got up with her back pressed against the walk but her legs were numb and sore, which made her so miserable that she felt like crying. Sara bit her lip and then forced herself to stand up. Unexpectedly, a wind gust almost threw her off balance. She managed to keep her balance holding onto the wall.
Then, Sara slowly walked into the yard, and there was a strong smell of blood.
The lights were on in the yard. The fluorescence of the west begonia flowers was coming to the end, but it was still in glorious bloom. Around the plants, several pools of dark red blood had begun to coagulate.
The ground was almost dyed red.
Sara was studying medicine. She knew very well that human would not be able to survive after losing such a great amount of blood. The man must be dead.
Fortunately, the corpse had been disposed.
Sara covered her mouth, her stomach was churning. In a trance, the overwhelming redness was flooding, suffocating thick blood was everywhere. Her mother, Caroline Lowell, stood in front of the window against the lights, splattering with blood. Her face was pale, but she was smiling. She touched Sara's face helplessly and asked, "Jackie, why did you come back?"
Why did you come back?
"I didn't want you to see... this scene." Her mother continued speaking.
Sara was short of breath, her brain was lack of oxygen. She felt nauseated and was about to vomit. She held her bag tightly as if she wanted to find some comfort from it, but tears streamed down her cheeks.
Tears fell on the back of her hand, astonishingly hot. Sara looked at the door in front of her blankly. The lights were on, it was warm.
But... it hurt... It truly hurt... It was already... She couldn't go any further....
"Sir..." Bella was about to say something but bit back, "Miss Martin is still young..." Hank did not speak. He merely stared at the blood-stained documents in front of him. He suddenly asked, "Am I really scary?"
Bella replied, "No, you are not."
Hank sneered, "Only the weak spray kindness." for
He leaned back on the chair and closed his grey eyes with some unfathomable emotion, "Send Sara back to the Martin family later."
Bella was stunned, "Sir..."
"Maybe she's happier staying in the Martin family than staying with me." Hank said with a poker face, "She doesn't know when she will die if she's with me. It's meaningless to live in fear."
Bella frowned and sighed in his heart. He thought, "It was not easy to find such an interesting girl. Why did it turn out like that?" "Okay." Bella said.
Hank became depressed. Why did she look at him that way?! Was he some sort of beasts that eat humans?! He thought.
He was about to lose control. Hank stood up, wanting to drive Sara away instantly. However, he noticed Sara was wobbling beside the crabapple tree, about to collapse.
"I can't walk any further..." Sara muttered, leaning into Hank's arms unconsciously. Her long eyelashes were wet, and her eyes dim and bleak, "...I can't go further..."
Hank face was extremely ghastly, "...Sara! What's wrong with you?!"
Sara had already passed out.
Hank gritted his teeth and lifted up the girl in his arms. He strode off to the room as he ordered angrily, "Get the doctor right now!"
Bella was shocked and went in a hurry.
Hank didn't realize when they were outside in the cold wind. As soon as they got inside, Hank found that Sara's body was terribly hot, her cheeks were burning in rouge. As soon as he put her on the bed, she curled up into a tiny ball. She pulled his finger gently and whispered, "Mom."
Hank's face darkened, "I'm not your mother."
He couldn't tell if Sara heard it. Sara curled herself up again and sobbed a little, "...Mom, why did you leave me... Am I not good enough..."
Sara's voice was soft, with a crying tone and being in delirium, anyone would melt.
Hank paused for a moment, and finally reached out to hold her hand, "You are very good."
Sara wept as if she didn't even dare to cry out loudly. She looked pitiful yet lovely. Hank was upset, pursing his lips into a thin line.
Sara's body was getting warmer, and the fever was getting worse. Her face was flushed from heat, looking very weak.
Perhaps she felt very uncomfortable, she began to cry in a low voice, "... It hurts... It hurts so much... It's too hot..."
Hank could only comfort her by patting her body. He turned his head and asked with a clouded face, "Why's the doctor taking so long?!"
The servants were so scared that they did not dare to speak, afraid that Hank would chop them.
Fortunately, at that time, Bella had already brought the family doctor over. Hank's murderous expression made the family doctor tremble. If he wasn't being held by Bella, he would have fallen to the ground.
Hank said in an icy tone, "What are you waiting for? Come and check on her now!"
In trepidation, the family doctor quickly nodded and began to examine Sara.
