After Veronica left, the people on the table were silent. Only Allen was happily chattering away.
After Amanda finished eating a piece of cake, she stopped. She had already eaten before coming at their table, so she was already full.
She first turned to her grandson and tried to coax him. He just had a scare earlier, and Amanda was dissatisfied with Veronica for that. He was still a child.
She sighed.
Looks like she needed to consider more about Veronica. If she were to be married to their family, it is important for her to care for Allen. What she showed earlier was alarming for Amanda, and she couldn’t deny it.
“My grandson, grandma will go now, okay? You enjoy your day and don’t mind what happened earlier.” She coaxed him as she caressed his head.
Allen turned to her and was slightly sad. But he looked up solemnly like a serious little adult.
“Grandma is busy, Allen won’t disturb grandma.” Allen said. Amanda was surprised and amused with what the child said. Her grandson was really smart and bright.
She chuckled and placed a kiss on his forehead.
She then turned towards her son. She glanced at the woman beside him. She sighed helplessly in her heart. She was now even more conflicted about the situation. But she didn’t want to be the villain now. She wanted for her grandson to be happy today, so he would forget the unpleasant happening earlier, which was partly her fault.
Finally, she opted to look at her son and nodded.
“I’ll go now. You guys enjoy your day.” She said. Damon stood up to assist his mother in standing up. Amanda then felt comforted. Her son was very filial and respectful, and she was satisfied.
“Okay, no need to see me out. You finish your food.” She patted her son’s hand and waved goodbye once more. She then left and there were guards and her driver waiting outside.
Damon sat back and the atmosphere of their table became light and at ease once again. He held Anya’s hand and studied her face.
“Are you okay?” He asked her worriedly. He was concerned that she might have been troubled about what happened.
Anya saw the concern written in Damon’s face and she immediately smiled. She gripped the hand holding hers in response.
“I’m fine.” She said softly.
Damon felt relieved and scooped some food to her plates.
“Continue eating. You weren’t able to eat properly earlier.” He said gently as he served her.
Anya felt sweet inside from his gesture and smiled as she ate her food. She felt the food became even more delicious.
Damon then fed his son too as he announced their next destination.
“How about we go shopping next?” He wanted his son to experience a family shopping together. Plus, he wanted to be with Anya too.
Allen, who doesn’t know what shopping is yet since everything was provided to him t his bidding, only blinked his eyes innocently.
“Mommy and daddy play with Allen?” He could only asked. His mind can only understand this much. all he wanted was to be with his Mommy and Daddy.
But Anya was very happy when she heard this. She had long wanted to play out with her son, and also buy things for him. She wanted to personally buy and choose his clothes. Her eyes brightened at this.
Damon saw this and knew Anya was excited so he chuckled. He then urged the two to finish their food. The mother and son seemed had a linked mind and the two ate in unison.
After they finished their meal, Damon left his secretary for the bills and he led his family towards the car. They then drove to a large mall in the city.
In the car, Anya cuddled with Allen.
“Okay, Mommy promise to be with Allen the whole day.” She happily said to the kid. Allen cheered and gave a kiss to Anya. She then instantly felt warm on her heart.
When they arrived, they first went to the clothes section. Allen was happily flinging while walking, both his little hands were held by his parents.
They went to the kids section, and Anya was ecstatic seeing the cute clothes displayed. She crouched beside Allen and pointed at them.
“Do you want them? Clothes?” She asked her little son.
Allen saw the variety of clothes and can’t help but be excited too. There was also his mommy beside him to help him.
“Want! Want!” He happily cheered.
Anya chuckled and chose clothes for him and asked his opinion from time to time. they later realized that they, mother and son, have the same taste. They giggled happily as they picked up dresses and matches for them.
Damon only stood in the side, but his eyes held a smile. His lips were also raised as he stared softly at the two most important people in his life.
He then thought, as long as they are happy, he was willing to do anything.
Anya chose a number of clothes and lead Allen to try them on. She was inside with him and helped him to change.
After she dressed him, she was very much in love with her son’s cute and handsome appearance.
“Oh my, so handsome! My son looks good in everything!” She exclaimed.
Allen looked up her in confusion, but also, there were happiness in his eyes.
Anya felt by then that she said something wrong. Look like she had a slip of the tongue.
She was speechless for a moment but then when she looked back at her son, she saw he didn’t mind it, just looking happily at her.
Anya eased her heart and continued to fix his clothes no need to ruin their moment.
After she was done, she sighed at her son’s cuteness. She can’t help but lead him outside to brag.
“How is it? Very adorable right?!” She asked excitedly at Damon and the assistants outside.
The saleslady and assistant each gave compliments. The child was really handsome, he really got all the good genes of his parents.
Damon saw the cocky look of his son and he can’t help but chuckle. He approach him and squatted in front of him too.
“En. Very handsome. Just like daddy.” He said as he fixed the little collar in the child’s clothes.
Allen was very happy. He looked back to back from his mommy and daddy at his side, and even in such a young age, he felt this was the happiest day in his life.
After day finished shopping, the sky was already dark. They went to dinner soon after. The three was hungry for playing all day, and they just ate directly when the food was served.
After that, they saw that Allen was already tired, so they decided to go home.
They entered the car and fastened the child to the kid’s seat. He immediately fell asleep. Looks like he really grew tired by all the shopping and playing.
Anya smiled gently and planted a kiss to his forehead. She then felt her hand was held by the man beside her.
Damon looked at Anya and saw her smile.
“Were you happy today?” He asked as he tucked a stray hair from the side of her face to the ack of her ears.
Anya blushed slightly but she still nodded, looking up at him. When she looked at his eyes, the thing in her pockets became heavy. She then remembered what she brought earlier, when Damon wasn’t watching.
“Uhm, I have something for you.” She whispered softly and shyly.
This man had done so much for her, and Anya had racked her brains for a long time what she could give back. But there wasn’t much she could do. This man already has everything. She could only give little things that she can.
Damon heard this and was surprised. He didn’t expect this and was curious. “What is it?”
Anya bit her lips and took the box from the pockets of her coats.
“This is nothing much, but.. for you.” She shoved the box to his hand in embarrassment. She immediately regretted it. She should’ve given it to him if she is already leaving!
Damon held the box in his hand, and his eyes brightened. He looked at Anya with a smile don his face.
“Can I open it?” He asked softly.
Anya blushed and tried to push his hand.
“No… open it when I’m not around.” She said. Her gift wasn’t special and it was just a small thing. Seeing his happiness, she was even more embarrassed.
“But I want to open it.” Damon said stubbornly as he enjoyed Anya’s shyness. He opened the box in front of her.
“Hey..” Anya softly protested.
Damon opened the box and saw a navy blue tie. It was elegant, but what caught his attention is the golden pin in it. The pattern was familiar, and he saw it in Anya’s studio and apartment.
“Did you make this pin?” He asked gently. His heart was full with happiness. His little woman was being very thoughtful and sweet.
“Uhm, you noticed. It’s nothing much.” Anya said with lowered head.
Damon smiled at this, and in front of her, he took of the necktie he was wearing.
Anya was surprised. The necktie that she felt was worth luxuries, was nonchalantly thrown at the side.
Damon passed the tie Anya had given to her. “Put it on for me.” He said, with a sexy smiled.
Anya bit her lips, but she still took the tie and wrapped it around his collar.
Suddenly, Damon circled an arm on her lips and pulled her closer. Anya gasped at his actions.
“Continue.” Damon whispered.
Anya could only continue outing on the neck time on him.
After she was done, Damon suddenly crouched down to drop a searing kiss on her lips. Anya unconsciously wrapped her arms on his neck as she kissed him back.
Damon’s arms tightened in her lips and pulled her closer to his body.
With a wet sound, he let go of her lips and grazed his thump softly on it. He then whispered hoarsely on her ears.
“Thank you, love.”
