“What’s his name again?” Damon asked Anya as they were dining in a restaurant. They were together and Anya was telling her about her day. Particularly now, the new person at her studio.
“Randy Logan. He is very efficient in his work. His qualifications are outstanding and the work in the studio has improved because of him.” Anya happily chattered as they ate. Damon would peel shrimps for her and put it on her plate. Anya would then happily munch on it.
They were eating seafood, and Damon is very skilled on peeling shrimps with his utensils. Maybe because of the countless formal event he had been in, that he could easily peel seafoods with elegance.
“Randy, huh..” Damon dragged as he thought back at the man he saw when he picked Anya up. It was the first time he knew the knew recruit Anya had in her studio, and he didn’t expect it would be a man. But that wasn’t the thing Damon noted on, but the strange look the man had given him. He might have concealed it very good, but Damon was very good at reading people. Since young, he was very accustomed to the fake façade of people, and he could easily notice any vile or contempt a person will hold against him.
And strangely, he felt it at that man. But Damon didn’t even know him, he was a simple employee so how could he have an opportunity to know and hate Damon with a passion? That was what Damon thought.
But, as he listened to Anya’s story about the new recruit, his educational background and achievements, he was even more suspicious. Why would a man who had such caliber, work for a starting studio? Anya said it was for experience, and maybe it’s true. But this knowledge only fueled Damon’s earlier suspicions about him, and he can’t help but be bothered.
That’s why when Anya excused to go to the bathroom, Damon motioned for Gabe, his secretary that had been also with them, to approach him.
“Contact Alex for me. Tell him there is someone I wish to investigate.” He said with a low voice, and his eyes darkened. Anyway, he couldn’t be too lax and complacent, and person close to his woman, he needed to know all their intentions. Just to be safe.
“Investigate Randy Logan.” The boss’ voice sounded, and Gabes immediately acquiesced. He walked for a few steps to make a call and execute the boss’ orders.
After Anya came back from the bathroom, she saw Damon’s dark expression. But when he saw her coming, his face softened and stood up.
“Ready?” He asked gently. Anya studied his face for a minute and felt there was something off. But she brushed it away. If he wanted to share it, he would definitely say. Maybe it is just about work. Anya thought.
“Yes,” Anya responded. Damon then held her hand as they walked out of the restaurant. They entered the car and it headed towards the direction of the day care.
They are going to where Allen is. Although the child is still small, Anya suggested he could enter a daycare so that he could play with other kids. Damon had never thought of that, and maybe, his son was feeling lonely in a big house with just his nanny. So he acquiesced with it. It was not bad for him to attend day care a couple of days a week. He cared for his safety since he was not a normal child, so he could only allow him to enter for certain days.
One of it was today, and he and Anya was on their way there. Anya had been constantly in touch with her son. The young child probably think she wasn’t his biological mother, since she wasn’t some who is with him at home and a person he could see the moment he wakes. But he likes Anya very much. It might be the undeniable bond of a mother and her child, so even as so, Allen wanted Anya to be his mother.
Anya had a good relationship with Damon now, so she let her relationship with her son hover between the truth and lie. She doesn’t want to tell him the truth now. It was not time yet. But still, Anya wanted to be with him. So she still chose to be in contact with him, which made the little boy very happy.
When they arrived at the daycare, they saw Allen running around with his little legs with a bunch of little children as well. Some parents were also waiting in the side. Anya and Damon also stood and watched for a while.
Damon so the energetic form of his son and can’t help but think the decision of sending him in daycare was just right. The child was very happy, and he as well, was happy.
Some parents decided to take their child home, so gradually, the children decreased. Allen also looked expectantly at the parents side. Damon had been picking him up from daycare the day he started, but Allen was pleasantly surprised when he saw Anya too.
“Mommy!” The little child ran towards Anya and jumped in her arms. This was the first time Anya had picked him up, and he was very happy.
“Hello, baby.” Anya happily smiled and squatted down to hug Allen.
“Mommy here!” Allen cheered as he kissed her cheeks, and Anya’s heart immediately melted.
Allen turned to his Daddy and raised his little hands.
“Daddy!” Allen also called to him. Damon chuckled and squatted down and gathered the little one in his arms.
“I thought you forgot daddy already.” Damon teased. He had been watching as his son pass by him to hug his mommy. But Damon only felt amused.
Allen kissed his father with a smack to appease him and blinked innocently. Damon could only shook his head helplessly and smiled as he rubbed his head.
Allen then pointed at the play ground and said in a cheery voice.
“Mommy, daddy, play!” He urged as kicked excitedly at Damon’s embrace. Anya heard this, her eyes brightened up. She looked expectantly at Damon too.
Damon was helpless as he stared at the identical two pairs of eyes looking at him at the same time. He couldn’t bare to reject these adorable pair, so he nodded.
Allen saw his father’s approval and his eyes brightened. He immediately cheered. Damon carried him towards the playground while holding Anya’s hands.
Damon squatted on his suit at the floor holding some blocks, while Anya happily messed around with Allen.
It was a bewildering sight to see the boss on the playground, squatting with a bunch of toys.
But Damon right now only watched as he listened to his son’s happy giggle and Anya’s bright smiled.
Looking at this heart warming scene. It was a very simple moment, but Damon felt that life was very beautiful. In a playground, only filled with children’s toys and them sitting on the ground, but his treasure was found here.
He would do everything for this little family of his.
