After the initial meeting of Ryan requesting to fill in the position of the company's CEO, they were discussing the benefits of letting him take over when Aunt Elsie barged into the conference room, the clanking sound from her heel vibrating aggressively throughout the room.
The meeting was about to end when she had entered, but her presence had abruptly stopped the meeting with everyone present in the room wearing either a puzzled or questioning look -it was obvious they did not expect to see her at the moment.
Aunt Elsie stood a few feet away from the huge oak door, glaring hells at them; they could feel the invincible heat from her glare poring aggressively into their skin -her aura was terrifying, making her presence more uncomfortable.
"It seems like a good way to abruptly end the meeting like this." Her voice was not only sharp, but venom was laced in it as well. "Perfect timing -I came just at the right time."
Mr. Robert stood up almost immediately, wearing a hard stare on his face. "What insolence, Mrs. Kent?" He blurted out sharply. "What do you think you are doing?"
Aunt Elsie laughed sarcastically before giving a reply. "What does it seem like I'm doing, eh?" She replied instead with a question. "What else if not the right thing?"
Mr. Robert was furious with her choice of reply. "The right thing?" He muttered angrily. "By abruptly barging in and interrupting a meeting without being invited, is that what you call the right thing, Mrs. Kent?"
Aunt Elsie was not moved nor bothered by his anger, it meant nothing to her. "I thought you were in the middle of nothing important. It's your fault, Mr. Robert, how can you hold a meeting behind me?"
"Hold a meeting behind you?" One of the executives challenged. "Is that enough excuse for you to barge in?"
"Why not..."Aunt Elsie blurt out sharply. "How dare you all hold a meeting without my presence, did you all forgot how important my presence is, eh?"
A chortle erupted, echoing faintly in the conference room. "How important your presence is?" The voice repeated with a trail of mockery laced in it. "Oh, I see..."
Aunt Elsie snapped her head towards the source of the voice and her eyed widened in recognition. She recalled seeing him, but where?
"You..."She pointed out but trailed off immediately, unable to recollect where she had seen him before.
"Yes, me!" Ryan mimicked her. "Do you remember me? The man from the hospital three days ago?" "Tick!" Aunt Elsie was able to remember him. He was the gentleman who claimed to be a friend of Ciara but wasn't granted the opportunity to see her. She clearly remembered Herzl truing to make friends with him, but she was quick to interrupt their moment. After that day at the hospital, Herzl did not stop talking about him, and had been disturbing Aunt Elsie, if once, for him to see the strange guy again.
"Oh, so you work here?" She enunciated with nothing but disgust laced in her voice. "How did I not notice before now?"
"Because I don't work here!" Ryan told her in reply, earning a puzzle look from Aunt Elsie.
"How did you get in here then?" She asked.
"This is where I belonged from the beginning of everything, woman." He uttered sharply. "I'm here to resume the post that used to be mine."
Aunt Elsie needed no one to interpret what he meant by his reply to her -she understood him perfect. Instead of a shock or obfuscated look, Aunt Elsie snickered darkly in return.
"And you think I'll let you have your way that easily?" She challenged him, her voice thick and firm. "Does everything look like a joke to you?"
"δΈ€And because it's not a joke, that's why it needed to be handled over to the only person who can manage it properly without a bleak if any sort." Ryan enunciated.
"And you think you're capable enough to be that one person, boy." Aunt Elsie muttered with a dirty grin on her face, drawling the word, 'boy'.
"Who else if not me, Ryan Lerman? You..."He uttered with a scoff. "Dream on, woman!"
"I've been managing this company forthe last two weeks without any bleak whatsoever." Aunt Elsie said in a blunt tone. "You can't just come in here and want everything back to yourself."
"You've been managing the company, yeah?" Ryan scoffs irritatedly. "Why has nothing changed since your arrival? What impact have you made on the company? How significant is your arrival since then?"
Aunt Elsie did not expect such from Ryan, not a bit of it, and this made her feel like she had just bring slapped hard on her face. No one needs to try messing around with her or talk back at her and challenge her like Ryan is doing at the moment, what insolence?
Although, Aunt Elsie felt attacked but had no word left to say to him. Instead, she turned towards the board executives, the cold stare in her eyes gradually melting down.
"Don't tell me you are all seated with arms folded to your chest, Mr. Robert." Aunt Elsie point out accusingly. "You have to do the right thing by gibing back what used to be mine to no other person but me."
"The company was not yours to begin with, Mrs. Kent." Mr. Robert answered her in a defiant tone. "The last time I checked there were only two requested names on the company was that of the shareholders. Mrs. fellas and Mr. Ryan Lerman. Your name was not included in it, how then was it yours."
"Since the Fellers Firm holds the highest share of the company, it's the Fellers -and since I head Fellers Firm now, it's practically mine too." She strutted in reply.
"Well, that definitely wasn't how it stated in the contract, woman." Ryan told her.
"Well, you are definitely twisting words here."
Aunt Elsie was taken aback at the mention of contract. "What contract are you talking about?" She asked, her left brow raised.
Ryan showed Aunt Elsie the file that contained the contract, and she quickly snatched it off his grip. Aunt Elsie went through the content for a few minutes wearing an unfriendly smile on her face, she ripped the files into halves. Before anyone could stop her, she already ripped it into pieces.
"Now that the evidence is gone, what do you think will become of you, boy?" She asked, hervoice was thick and sharp...
