Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter137

Ch. 137 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

The knock on the door was gentle and soft, but was also audible enough to Aunt Elsie's hearing. She purposely waited for a few seconds for the knock to come up again, if not thrice, before answering. "Come in..."She uttered dryly, her gaze focused on the file she was reading.

The door creaked opened afterward as Milan walked in briskly, her steps were steady and elegant as she hastens them towards Aunt Elsie's table. The look on her face was stoic and blank, with no trail of smile in her eyes either; Aunt Elsie had ordered every employee to stop smiling, saying it bore her out.

"Yes...?" Aunt Elsie's left brow was raised, her voice clearly reflecting her emotion of not being interested in whatever Milan had to say. "Why have you come here, abruptly interrupting my precious moment?"

Milan took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. She had anticipated that Aunt Elsie would not be pleased by her visit, but she had come too far to back out now.

"I apologize for interrupting you, ma'am." Milan said, bowing her head respectfully. "But I have urgent news that I feel you should be made aware of -it's pressing at the moment."

Aunt Elsie's eyes narrowed, and her mouth twisted into a sourexpression. "What kind of urgent news is that, and why do you have to deliver it in person?" She snapped, clearly annoyed by the interruption. "Aren't you supposed to have recognized the moment when I desired not to be disturbed -how can you be so incompetent in your duty?"

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but news came in just now that the other shareholder of the Lerman's company, Mr. Lerman himself, had taken up the challenge of heading the company again." Milan enounced, her voice was sharp like was she was trying to pierce it through Aunt Elsie's skin if possible.

The file on Aunt Elsie's hand fell off from her grip abruptly as she almost jolted up from herseat. "What...?" She thundered, her face clouded in fury and the look in her eyes weren't saying otherwise either. "What did you just say?"

"The board of directors from the Lerman's company had also sent a letter, asking the Fellers Firm, I mean; you, to steer clear of the company; until..." Milan paused, trailing off on purpose because she enjoyed the look of fury on her supposed new boss's face. "Ms. Fellers returned and ready to..."

Aunt Elsie banged herfist on the table like she was intending to snap it into two at that moment. The fact that Milan could confidently look up to her face and tell her this and find a way to weave in Ciara's name was enough to burst her open.

"Enough!" Aunt Elsie shouted, her voice echoing off the walls of the room. "I do not need to hear another word! This is outrageous! How dare they try to take away what is rightfully mine right under my nose? I will not stand for this!"

Her breathing was heavy and ragged as well -and her cheeks were flushed with anger, too. Milan had never seen her like this before, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear; although she's the angry freak, but it has never gotten to this extent before.

But she had to stay strong, she had to do what she came here to do -not when she's silently savoring the moment, amidst herfearand continuous heartbeat.

"The Lerman's company had asked for your immediate dismissal from any activity or business relating to the company forthe moment. Until Ms. Fellers return, to be precise." Milan added without giving a second thought to Aunt Elsie's rage. "I don't think such a message as this is a request but an order, ma'am." "I said; ENOUGH!" Aunt Elsie yelled, glaring hells at Milan. She was burning in rage at that moment, and she felt like her heart would burst open from the feeling that was overwhelming her inside. "I don't want to hear another word from you, do you understand me?"

"Yes, ma'am, I do understand you quite well, but we have to come up with a..."Milan was still talking...

Aunt Elsie banged her fist again on the table separating them, her eyes blazing fury and invincible fire. "Get out of here this moment, girl, get out of my office!" She ordered with so much authority coursing through her veins. "I don't want to see you anywhere around me!"

Milan took a step back, feeling the full force of Aunt Elsie's wrath. She had never seen her so angry before, and she was terrified of what she might do if she didn't leave immediately. Without another word, she turned and walked out ofthe room, feeling a sense of relief as she closed the door behind her.

"Tell the company chauffeur to prepare my drive to the Lerman's company in five minutes...!" Milan heard Aunt Elsie's voice immediately, the door was closed behind her.

Milan only sighed out heavily without bothering to utter a reply -there wasn't a need for one anyway. As she walked through the hallway, her mind was clouded with a sweet sensation; it wouldn't be so long until Aunt Elsie would be ousted out from the office -it's just a matter of time.

Milan knew that Aunt Elsie was determined to fight this, and she was just as determined to see her plan through. She knew that it would be a long and difficult battle, but she was up for the challenge. After all, she had already come this far, and she wasn't about to give up now.

Aunt Elsie, on the flip side, was busy wallowing herself in her thought of rage that was overwhelming her fasterthan anyone would think. She was continuously hissing and growling in anger with only one word replaying in her head, (mine!'

She knows she can't afford to sit back with folded arms across her chest and watch some random company owner bring up the challenge of taking back the company that was supposed to be hers because he's a shareholder in the company. Who does that?

She hastily put on her heels, straightening up her hair afterward with the hairbrush that was lying on the other side of the table. Though consumed by rage, she was still sane enough to make adjustments to her appearance before stepping out to face the board of directors from the Lerman's company head on.

Aunt Elsie was determined not to go easy on anyone of them until she's able to retrieve what was supposed to be hers again. She's ready to let anyone standing in her way to get consumed by her fire of fury...!
