"I don't want this incident to ruin your enjoyment of your desserts. So, I am going to take you somewhere else," Garrett said softly as he pulled her close to him as Adam drove them to a different restaurant.
Her scent was addictive and Garrett wanted to hold her like this for as long as she would allow it. Lily said nothing, allowing Garrett to take control as she was mentally drained from defending him. Being this close, she could feel his aura and his strong scent.
'He smells like an Alpha. How could we have thought that Matthew was a true Alpha?' Dina, Lily's wolf, said. Lily agreed. She never felt this way about Matthew nor did his aura ever make her feel so secure. Lily subconsciously snuggled closer to Garrett much to his surprise.
Garrett smiled to himself as he was even more happy that Lily was submitting to him in this way. She was acting as a proper Luna should.
"Do you feel sorry for me?" Garrett asked.
"What?" Lily responded, lifting her head up slightly to look at him.
"Do you feel pity for me because of my face?" Garrett asked again with a gentle smile. The smile diluted the scars on his face, letting him look soft and mild.
Lily blushed and felt somewhat embarrassed. 'Oh no, does he think I pity him? Does he think I did all that because I didn't care about him?' Lily thought in a panic.
'Well, tell him no. We don't believe that! We just want to support our future mate,' Dina, her wolf, urged her.
"How could I watch those people lie on you like that? I don't feel sorry for you. I...I was not helping you, I was doing what I am supposed to do. Since we are engaged now, I should always stand by you and support you," Lily rambled.
Garrett couldn't help but chuckle. Her flustered expression was hilarious and he knew what she meant. She was getting possessive and he liked that.
He squeezed her hand a little once the car stopped and said, "Come on. This restaurant is owned by my mother, so I am sure we will avoid further issues." He opened the car door and let her out before he guided her to the entrance of the restaurant.
Lily was relieved after hearing that, but then her heart ached. It wasn't right that he had to hide out like a vampire from the sun to avoid people making assumptions and rumors about him. Even being a second born son of an Alpha still could not protect him from being hurt by malice.
'He must be so lonely,' Lily thought to herself. 'No, he won't be lonely anymore. I will make sure no one will ever talk bad about him again.'
'It sounds like you're falling for him,' Dina teased.
'No, that's not it. I just think it's wrong for him to be treated like that,' Lily responded.
"By the way, what would you have done if those people were still aggressive after seeing the security footage?" Garrett asked. "What if they were wolves and not humans? What would you have done?"
Lily raised an eyebrow and said without hesitation, "Then, I would have had to fight them perhaps. Make them submit and apologize."
"And could you have won?" Garrett asked.
"Against other wolves, probably not. That doesn't mean I wouldn't try and make sure they had a reminder as to what happens if they crossed me," Lily answered, causing Garrett to laugh.
"Well, what would you have done if the humans became aggressive then?" Garrett asked curiously.
"We're not allowed to kill humans. That doesn't mean I can't harm them. I would try my best to win without causing us any more issues. I can't watch you being harassed like that. I promise I'll never let you face issues like that alone," Lily answered.
Garrett chuckled and said, "You're acting as if you have already decided to be my mate."
Lily sputtered and flushed. "Wait. I..." she started and didn't notice that Garrett had stopped walking. She bumped into him and he looped his arm around her waist to keep her from falling.
"Why did you stop walking?" Lily questioned.
Garrett leaned forward and growled into her ear, "Well, if you dare to abandon me someday, I'll track you down, bring you back and punish you."
The growl, the breath on her ear, and the implication of what he meant by punishment made Lily blush even harder and Dina whine. This wolf was just too much for her. When Garrett leaned back, Lily could see his face and it only intensified the new feeling within her. He had a slight loving smile on his face.
'Jump his bones! Jump his bones now!' Dina howled.
'Stop it! He probably can hear you!' Lily scolded Dina.
'He can't hear me, not until we are healed from the breaking of our mate bond,' Dina explained. Lily was relieved and cleared her throat to try to ignore the slight throbbing between her legs. This man could make her feel like this with just a smile, she wondered what else he could do.
'Yes! Now, you get it! You should find out. You should ask him to lick...' Dina started up again.
'Stop it! I'm not going to do that,' Lily replied before putting up a block to block out Dina's dirty little plans.
Since it was Garrett's treat and Garrett pushed her to do it, Lily ate whatever she wanted. Even though she was the daughter of an Alpha, she didn't get the privilege to enjoy the finer dining.
Garrett then decided it was time for them to go Christmas shopping much to her enjoyment. They bought a tree, garland, tablecloths, and any other decorations that Lily could think of.
Unexpectedly, Garrett chose to place his claim on Lily in public as he noticed the lingering eyes and the paparazzi. Lily not once shirked away from him or stopped holding his hand. He figured he would have to show his loyalty to her as well.
"Kiss me," Garrett said huskily.
