"Lily, be serious. You lucked out with Matthew because he was your fated mate. You are an Omega and unfortunately, in dumb wolf logic, no offense, you are not seen as worthy. You need to show him you are a desirable she-wolf!"
"I believe in Garrett. He's not like that," Lily said this stubbornly.
"Then, I will come and see for myself," Tiffany stated.
"What are you talking about?" Lily asked. "You can't come back yet. You need to enjoy the break with your family."
"Not now, silly. I will be spending the New Year with you. I will see for myself if this Garrett is worthy of you," Tiffany answered. "And anyway, I have an interview with O.H. Group."
"That's amazing. I'm going to go now. I am decorating," Lily said.
"Look at you being a homemaker already," Tiffany teased.
"Stop it," Lily laughed.
"Okay, bye. Make sure to answer your phone from now on!" Tiffany stated before hanging up.
Lily chewed over Tiffany's words. Perhaps there was some truth to it. She could show him more appreciation than what she was already doing.
"No. I will not be coming back to your home," Garrett said firmly, looking at his father in his office. "Your home isn't safe."
Alpha Jack glared at Garrett. He decided to come to his office as he was not returning his calls and literally chucked his receptionist out of the way to get into his office.
"Look dear, we just want to spend time with you," Luna Kelly added, trying to appease her angry son.
"You just want to evaluate her. You two have done enough," Garrett stated.
"Then, we will come to you. You will be under full control," Alpha Jack stated.
"So, you can plant another spy. Absolutely not," Garrett retorted.
"You can't hide her forever boy. You're going to have to let her out," Alpha Jack stated.
"And she needs to take classes on how to be a proper Luna," Luna Kelly added.
"And you intend to train her?" Garrett asked.
"If you will allow me. I swear nothing will happen to her under my watch Garrett. You know it's true. I have never lied to you, my son," Luna Kelly answered.
"Fine. Once she heals, we will agree on a neutral place," Garrett said, "Now, please leave so I can finish work."
The air was charged with tension as Bethany barged her way into Garrett's villa, determined to confront Lily. After seeing her son, someone had to pay for what happened to him. Daniel claimed that Garrett didn't touch him but she didn't believe it.
Bethany would do what Garrett did to Daniel to Lily. Her eyes narrowed as she spotted Lily across the room, and without hesitation, she strode toward her, her steps exuding arrogance.
"Oh, hello, who are you?" Lily greeted her.
"Shut up! Don't act stupid. You know exactly who I am!" Bethany snapped.
"I actually don't. Who are you?" Lily questioned.
"Luna Bethany, you idiot. You little brat seduced my son!" Bethany snapped.
Realization dawned on her and Lily clenched her jaw, ready to face whatever barrage Bethany had prepared. She had dealt with enough judgment and belittlement in her life and was determined not to let Bethany's words break her. "I did not seduce your son. He came onto me even after I told him I did not want him. You should teach your son to respect people's boundaries."
"You! You weak excuse for an Omega!" Bethany spat, her voice dripping with contempt. "How dare you tell me anything! What are you even doing here? You should just go back to your worthless, mony grubbing pack, where you belong. You don't have what it takes to be a proper mate let alone a Luna!"
Lily's eyes flashed with a mix of anger and defiance. She straightened her posture, refusing to let Bethany's words penetrate her spirit as she stood up from the wheelchair. "You have no right to tell me anything, Bethany," she retorted. She said her name with such disdain and left off her title to show her intense dislike for her. "I am with Garrett because he chose me, and I choose him. I am not defined by your narrow perception of strength."
Bethany's eyes blazed with fury, her nostrils flaring. "You think being an Omega is enough to be a Luna? You have no idea what it takes to be by Garrett's side. If you put him or his family in danger, I will personally make sure you're removed from his life."
Lily felt her blood boil at the threat. She took a step forward, her voice laced with a newfound steeliness. "I will not stand here and be threatened by you, Bethany. I am more than capable of protecting those I love. I may be an Omega, but that doesn't make me weak."
Adam, who had been silently observing the heated exchange, stepped forward, interposing himself between the two women. His expression was stern as he addressed Bethany. "That's enough, Luna Bethany. You've said your piece and you are not welcome here. It's time for you to leave."
Bethany glared at Adam, her chest heaving with rage. She reluctantly turned to leave but not before throwing one last warning glance at Lily. "Remember what I said, little Omega. Be strong or face the consequences."
As the door closed behind Bethany, Lily exhaled a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Her eyes met Adam's, gratitude shining through her gaze. "Thank you for stepping in, Adam," she said, her voice filled with appreciation. "I don't want Garrett to know about this confrontation. Can you promise me that you won't tell him?"
Adam's features softened, understanding Lily's desire to shield Garrett from unnecessary tension. "I promise, my Luna, as you should be the one to tell him. I won't mention a word of this to Garrett. Your secret is safe with me. But, remember if you don't have trust, you won't have anything."
Lily smiled, relief washing over her. She knew she could trust Adam to keep his word. She took a moment to collect herself, her determination resurfacing.
"I will tell him in my own time," Lily declared, her voice filled with renewed strength. "I won't let Bethany's words effect me. I am here because Garrett and I chose each other not because it was dictated."
Adam nodded, his gaze filled with unwavering support. "You're stronger than you think, Lily. And you have the strength to become an incredible Luna."
