"Get your damn hands off me! How dare you touch me!" Mandy snarled, snatching her wrist free. "Who do you think you are?"
"Adam Kenwell, former Gamma of Alpha Jack," Adam said firmly. Mandy's eyes widened in surprise thinking that Adam was just some random wolf sniffing around Lily. She quickly pivots, knowing exactly how to make this situation benefit her.
"How disgusting Lily! You scold us and yet, you're out here cheating on Garrett with Adam," Mandy accused. "This is why Matthew wanted nothing with you. He knew you were a loose woman. He told us all about your escapades."
"Then, he must have confused me with Brandy," Lily retorted.
"Yes, yes, disgusting. Don't try to spin this on me. We both saw how he was touching you. You must be sleeping with him. I should inform Alpha Jack immediately," Brandy said following her mother's lead. She pulled out her phone as she was preparing to call Alpha Jack.
"What? What are you talking about? Adam is..." Lily sputtered in confusion.
"You will do well to stop offending my Luna. I am Alpha Garrett's advisor," Adam said interjecting. "Yes, do call Alpha Jack. Call Alpha Garrett as well. Let's have a discussion to get this situation sorted. I am sure he would love to know how you both have assaulted his Luna."
The color drained from Brandy and Mandy's face upon hearing this. They assumed wrong. Garrett did intend to make Lily her mate. They knew that if they called Alpha Jack this could endanger their plans.
Adam sneered at them before turning to Lily. "Is your business with them concluded, my Luna?" Adam asked.
"Yes, I am ready to leave this place," Lily replied. "Have father contact me, Mandy." Lily said her former mother's name with as much disgust as she could before leaving with Adam following behind her.
"Miss Bray had an encounter with her mother and sister. She was put in an awkward situation as they revealed that she is the illegitimate daughter of Alpha Kenneth," Adam explained to Garrett after they got back in the car and rolled up the window that separated the back seat from the front seat.
"Do not bring her back to the villa. I don't want her wallowing in grief. Take her somewhere to get some food and let me know the location," Garrett said before hanging up.
Garrett growled low under his breath as his secretary entered his office with a cup of tea as Adam had informed him of what occurred right the call ended with Garrett. Tea always calmed Alpha Garrett and he wanted to make sure that Garrett didn't do anything rash.
"I brought you some tea, Alpha," his secretary said, placing the cup on his desk.
"Thank you," Garrett responded as he took a sip while he mulled over his thoughts. He planned to visit Alpha Kenneth today to discuss the engagement before he made plans with Lily and before Lily decided to confront her family. Like he feared, it didn't go well. It made him bloodthirsty thinking that they had caused Lily discomfort.
"Warn the Blue Creek pack. Lily is mine and they cannot afford to offend her. I don't care about my stupid brother and that he will be the Alpha of Grey Blood. I will destroy them if they cross her again," Garrett said in a cold voice.
His secretary nodded, taking a few notes on his notepad. He didn't need to write what he said word for word as he worked with Garrett long enough to understand his mood and intentions. Garrett planned to protect Lily no matter what.
"A cake store?" Lily asked as the car parked in front of the cake shop, Chunks of Cake.
"You should treat yourself for being brave. It was brave that you stood up to your family," Adam answered.
"Thank you," Lily said shyly.
"If you don't want cake, I can take you somewhere else," Adam offered.
"No, no, you've done enough. Cake is just fine," Lily stated. "Thank you Adam."
"Of course, my Luna," Adam said as Lily got out of the car. Lily entered the cake shop and inhaled the sweet smell of tea and chocolate.
'I like the way Adam thinks. Of course we should eat sweets when we're sad,' Dina said to Lily.
'Then, we will try all the flavors then,' Lily responded and Dina howled in delight. Lily couldn't help but chuckle at her wolf. She was a glutton for sweets.
Lily ordered slices of Tiramisu, Red Velvet Cake, Birthday Cake, Carrot Cake, and Italian Cream cake. She took her time enjoying each slice.
Garrett reached the cake shop a few minutes after Lily sat down to eat the slices. He could not help but laugh when he saw her through the windowpane.
He initially thought that she would cry, but the truth was that she was in a good mood. Lily was bobbing from side to side with pure bliss on her face as she ate cake. She could shake off bad emotions in an instant. Was she naturally optimistic or just learned to be this way? There was so much he needed to learn about his future Luna.
Garrett was about to turn around and leave when a child bumped into him. The child looked up and saw his face and then fell to the ground in horror and cried loudly.
His crying was so loud that it attracted the customers in the store, including Lily.
Lily was surprised to see Garrett here. Either Adam told him what happened or he came to get desserts too.
The child's mother came and grabbed her child in her arms. She was clearly human and did not know who Garrett was.
At first sight of Garrett's frightening half face, she shouted, "What's the matter with you? You should be ashamed of yourself walking around with no mask on. Your face is disgusting. Are you trying to scare people? My poor boy is going to be traumatized because of you. I should call the police, you fiend!"
