"You should not avoid Lily," Adam said firmly as he parked the car in one of the reserved parking spaces near the elevator. "You'll confuse her."
Sitting in the passenger seat, Garrett raised an eyebrow at Adam's comment. "That's none of your concern," he responded coolly, his gaze fixed on the elevator. He waited for Adam to open the car door for him, a subtle display of their positions within their organization and hierarchy as Garrett was annoyed that Adam was scolding him about his behavior again.
"It is when she is my responsibility to protect as well," Adam insisted. "She is young and inexperienced. Perhaps you need to talk her through the process instead of letting her stumble through it. She has enough to deal with. This shouldn't be complicated too."
Garrett sighed, realizing Adam had a point. A lot of crucial information her parents neglected to teach her all because she was an Omega. While she seemed to be adapting well with his mother's guidance, she lacked the necessary experience to navigate the complexities of werewolf dynamics and the Winter Moon celebration was only a few days away. He turned his gaze towards Adam, appreciating his loyal dedication to their shared responsibility.
"I'll take what you said in consideration," Garrett said. "What's on the schedule today?" Adam opened the car door for Garrett and pulled the folder out of his bag. As Garrett stepped out of the vehicle, Adam handed him a document, along with a brief rundown of his schedule for the day.
"The land in the eastern suburbs has been successfully acquired, and construction has already begun. If everything goes smoothly, the building of the theme resort will commence by the end of this month. Additionally, the pilot episode of Midnight Oblivion will be premiering tonight at 8 pm. You also have a video conference scheduled with..."
Adam paused mid-sentence, a delightful scent suddenly filling the air. It was a fragrance so captivating that it put him on high alert. The scent of hibiscus wafted towards them, permeating their surroundings and capturing Adam's attention.
'Where is that coming from?' Adam thought.
'Behind you,' Thad, Adam's wolf, advised.
Adam turned around, his eyes widening as he spotted a woman approaching alongside Lily. The woman was beyond beautiful, her presence commanding attention. Adam found himself momentarily entranced by her radiance before Garrett cleared his throat, snapping him out of his daze.
"Adam, what are you staring at?" Garrett asked with a raised eyebrow. Adam was never one to be distracted.
"Our Luna is here, Alpha," Adam announced, acknowledging her presence with respect.
Garrett turned around, surprised to see Luna standing there. His eyes widened as he noticed her hair pulled up, revealing a hickey on her neck. Memories and feelings from the passionate night they spent together flooded back, making his heart race. He quickly composed himself, masking his emotions with a composed smile.
Before Garrett could address the situation, Lily rushed forward leaving Tiffany and greeted them with a warm smile, "Good morning, Garrett and Adam. What are you two doing here?"
Garrett chuckled at Luna's curiosity, finding her innocence and sincerity endearing. "I admire your observation skills," he replied with a smile. "Yes, I am involved in the management of the company. The company has a very strict dress policy. I would invite you up, but you're too casual."
Luna nodded, understanding his response. "That's okay. I just realized I never asked about what you do. It must be super busy being in such a high-up position."
Garrett's admiration for Luna grew, appreciating her genuine interest in him and his work. "Are you disappointed?" he asked, curiosity lacing his words.
"Why would I be?" Luna replied, her eyes filled with sincerity.
"Weren't you expecting me to be more established than this?" Garrett inquired further, wanting to understand her perspective.
"No. Should I be?" Luna answered, a hint of confusion in her voice. "I know that your relationship with your parents is strained. And I think it is pretty admirable that you decided to do something on your own. Positions don't mean that much to me."
Contrary to her sister and her family's pack in general, Luna wasn't driven by material wealth. All she desired was a peaceful and secure life, and she would support Garrett regardless of his profession. She was not even aware that Garrett was the President of O.H. Group, as this information had been well-protected within the family.
Lily, like everyone else, had no idea that Garrett was the president. She was just happy for him, knowing that the company had accepted him without prejudice for his appearance.
Garrett felt a mix of pride and relief, grateful that Lily didn't judge him based on societal norms or his family's legacy. She truly cared for him for who he was, and that meant the world to him.
"Of course, I expect you to give me all the insights on new shows," Lily teased playfully. "I love thrillers and it seems that O.H. Group is on a roll. Hit after hit. It's amazing!"
Garrett grinned, enjoying the banter. "There's a premiere tonight for Midnight Oblivion. Would you like to attend?" he invited.
Lily's eyes lit up with excitement. "Midnight Oblivion? Of course, I'd love to go!" she exclaimed, eager to support Garrett and experience the show together.
"Good. Adam will take you shopping again. You can get a different dress," Garrett said.
"No, I can just wear one of my other dresses," Lily responded.
"Again, Luna, not to offend, what you had before would be fine if you were any other person, but as Alpha said, the dress code is very strict. You will need to appear as the Luna that you are," Adam explained.
"It won't always be like this, I promise. Tonight will..."
"I get it. Luna Kelly told me that there will be times I will have to put aside my needs for the good of our relationship. This is one of those situations," Lily interrupted Garrett. She understood that this wasn't an exact situation that Luna Kelly was talking about, but she could still apply it. Lily didn't want to make it hard for Garrett at his job. If she had to dress up, she would dress up.
"Who is that woman behind you?" Garrett asked.
