The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 650

Ch. 640 / 790 May 05, 2026

The night before Bella and Kael’s wedding should have been one of joy, of final preparations and dreams of their shared future. But for Bella, it felt like the calm before a storm. She stood in her quarters, staring out the window at the darkened landscape. The night air was cool, and though she could hear the sounds of the pack preparing for the celebrations, a sense of unease settled deep in her chest.

Kael had already retired for the night, and though Bella had tried to focus on the positive, her thoughts kept drifting back to the bloodstained note she’d found earlier. “You’ll never make it to the altar.” The threat still hung over her like a dark cloud, one she couldn’t escape. Despite all the love and support around her, Bella couldn’t shake the fear that something terrible was about to happen.

A loud crash outside her door shattered the silence, and before Bella could react, the door burst open. Mercenaries, masked and armed, stormed into her quarters, overwhelming her before she could even call for help. Her wolf roared in fury, but her powers—her very essence—felt muted, suppressed by something unseen, a magical barrier that drained her strength.

She fought back, but they were too many, too swift. A sharp blow to the head sent her crashing to the ground, the world spinning before everything went black.

When Bella regained consciousness, the first thing she noticed was the cold. The air was damp and heavy with the scent of decay. Her body ached, and her senses felt dulled, as though her powers were completely drained. She tried to move, but the chains binding her to the stone wall made it impossible.

“Where am I?” she whispered to herself, her voice trembling. Panic began to rise in her chest as she looked around, realizing she was in a dark, unfamiliar place. The walls were made of rough stone, and the air smelled of mildew and rot. She was alone, the weight of isolation pressing down on her.

“Let’s see if Kael loves you enough to save you,” a cold, mocking voice echoed through the room. Bella’s blood ran cold as the voice grew clearer. It was Esmera—she had been the one behind all of this. Her heart pounded in her chest as she strained against her chains, the full weight of the situation sinking in. Esmera had captured her.

But what was worse was the unmistakable realization that she wasn’t just anywhere. The scent in the air was different, and the stone felt colder than anything she’d ever encountered before.

Nyxthorn territory.

Bella’s stomach churned. She had been taken to the heart of their enemy’s land, surrounded by the very people who sought to destroy everything she and Kael had fought for. Despair surged through her, but she quickly shoved it down, her mind racing. She needed to focus. She couldn’t give up.

Despite the magical suppression, Bella could still feel the bond between her and Kael, faint but present. She closed her eyes, reaching out with her mind, willing herself to connect with him, but the distance between them felt vast. She could only hope that he felt the pull and would come for her.

The silence was broken only by the distant sounds of movement outside her cell. Bella’s eyes flicked to the shadows, trying to make sense of the unfamiliar environment. Her heart raced, her wolf unsettled and on edge.

Just then, she heard the unmistakable sounds of footsteps approaching—heavy, purposeful steps. The door to her cell creaked open, and a figure stepped inside, his silhouette barely visible in the dim light. Bella’s breath hitched, but it wasn’t Kael.

It was Shadowbound’s lieutenant, one of the mercenaries who had attacked her earlier. He stared at her with cold, calculating eyes, a wicked smile tugging at his lips.

“So, the rogue Luna finally awakens,” he sneered, his voice dripping with malice. “Esmera’s right. Let’s see if your precious Kael can save you this time. Maybe we’ll make him watch as we break you down, piece by piece.”

Bella clenched her fists, trying to muster whatever strength she could, but the chains held her tight, and the magic suppressing her powers made every movement feel sluggish and impossible. She couldn’t fight him—at least not yet.

The lieutenant took a step closer, the cruel smile never leaving his face. “Your fate is sealed. Your wedding will never happen. Nyxthorn will rise, and all of you will fall.”

Bella’s heart sank as the full weight of the situation hit her. She was truly alone in enemy territory, with no way to fight back and no way to reach Kael. She had been captured on the eve of her wedding, the plans she had made for her future torn apart in an instant.

But as fear gripped her chest, she refused to give in. She couldn’t. Not now.

She thought of Kael, of the bond they shared, and the love that had brought them this far. He would come for her. She knew he would.
