By the time he came back it was extremely late, so he requested the doctor to give him a VIP room near the ICU.
After freshening up he came out of the bathroom and was about to call Callie when he heard the knock on the door.
He went and opened it and saw Campbell standing there with a grim look on his face.
"What's wrong Campbell? Did you find him?" He asked urgently as he let him in.
"Boss, Dimitri escaped from the jail a few days back. It seems he was helped by one of his cellmates and no we didn't find him but we are on the hunt and will find him by daybreak." He said confidently.
Suddenly Campbell's phone started vibrating and he picked it up immediately.
"Yes,. Did you find his location?" Campbell whispered. "okay, I will try to reach there, don't do anything till I reach there."
After hanging up he looked at Jayden who was looking at him anxiously.
"They have found him."
"Then let's go..." Jayden said urgently.
"But it's quite late Boss and the place where he is hanging out is in a very rough locality, I suggest you stay back and rest, we will take care of him," Campbell said softly.
"Campbell, I need to end it today or her sufferings will torcher her for a lifetime and the sacrifices Callie
and Scarlett made back then would not be fruitful, so I will do whatever is important for the people who are dear to my heart and you will not question me. Is that all right !" He exclaimed softly.
And Campbell could feel the warning behind it. He nodded his head and after Jayden grabbed his overcoat and walked out he followed him behind.
Escorted by Campbell, Jayden walked steadily down the alley. Waiting at the end of the alley were men in blue, who were waiting for their instruction. Jayden could see that they were getting restless as they wanted to go inside.
As he reached the club where Dimitri was supposed to be drinking with his group of friends, Campbell instructed his men to cover the whole place.
And they slowly moved inside.
There were private booths upstairs and Dimitri had occupied the most spacious one and was busy drinking and cursing Scarlett and did not know that he was surrounded by Campbell 's men.
But he was not alone and the men he was sitting with were, highly renowned killers and were very ruthless. They had two escorts with them who were serving them.
Jayden walked behind him and patted on his back and Dimitri shouted angrily. "What the fuck do you want?"
But Jayden did not say anything.
Dimitri did not turn back. So Jayden patted him again, this time the other guys seated at the table looked at him with alert and one of them spoke huskily. "Who are you man and what do you want?"
Still Dimitri did not turn and neither did Jayden respond.
He patted him again but this time with a little force.
But this time Dimitri turned and grabbed his hand and was about to punch him but Jayden was faster, he grabbed his arms and kicked him in his groin. Dimitri screamed with pain.
Just then the other men leaped in Jayden's direction but Campbell was ready for them he kicked them with the help of his men and boxed them out.
Meanwhile Dimitri got up and charged towards Jayden by grabbing him into his steel grip as Dimitri was well built and was very strong.
The escorts were terrified but Campbell signaled them to move out and they rushed out without looking behind.
Jayden and Dimitri punched each other for a while and Dimitri gave him a hard kick and shouted.
"Aren't you Scarlett's new lover? She thinks she can change her face and I won't recognize her. I will get her no matter what she is mine. You stay out of it or I will kill you too." Dimitri sneered and rushed towards him to give him a beating but Jayden lunged into him and beat him senselessly and blood started spurting out of Dimitri's mouth.
All the other men were caught and Campbell was waiting for Jayden to end his fight with Dimitri so that they would take care of him forever.
Just then Dimitri took out his gun and pointed towards Jayden and pulled the trigger but luckily Campbell was faster then him and he fired his silencer just on time and it hit
Dimitri right on his chest and his eyes went all wide with shock.
Dimitri tried to fire again but he was shot twice before he collapsed and died on the spot.
"Boss, you better move now before the cops come, I will handle the situation here." Campbell said urgently.
"You have the proof now that he tried to kill me, so I think everything will be sorted out." Jayden said softly and looked at the man lying on the floor with satisfaction before going out of the club.
Jayden walked away with his bodyguard and got into the car which was waiting for them.
As the car drove away into the busy streets of Budapest. Jayden looked outside and had a satisfied look on his face.
He was thinking about Scarlett, who had a very special place in his heart. She was someone who had always been there for Callie, as a sister and a friend at the university.
But the circumstances in her family made her lose everything and Dimitri was her greatest fear, who was in jail but apparently, he had escaped and found Scarlett but now he won't be able to bother her again, as the ugly chapter was closed. He will never rise again.
Jayden returned to the hospital and looked at Scarlett who was lying unconscious in the ICU. His heart ached for her knowing what all things she had gone through in her past.
He smiled weakly and went to the VIP ward to rest.
The next morning Scarlett had regained her consciousness but was very weak, so Jayden stayed back with her for some time, before flying back to Seattle.
But they had both decided not to tell Callie about it as she would be worried.
After returning, one thing led to another and Scarlett was worried about Callie, as she knew it was not safe for Callie to be alone at the Villa.
So she had agreed to stay with them. As Callie and Jayden were her only family left and she would do anything to protect her.
She got dressed carefully and tried to hide her wound by wearing a black mini dress with matching sneakers.
She went out and walked towards Callie's room and knocked on the door.
"Come in the door's opened." Callie said excitedly.
No sooner did Scarlett come inside the room, Callie ran and came and hugged her tightly and unknowingly brushed Scarlett's wound.
Scarlett felt the pain but endured it and smiled at Callie who was looking at her lovingly and said. "God, Scar darling, I missed you. I am so glad you came to stay with us."
"I am happy to Callie," Scarlett said lovingly.
"I hope my brother has not forgotten that he is taking us out to dinner !" Callie said excitedly.
"Don't worry Callie, he will be here on time."
"Hope you are right Scar." Callie whispered. As she knew that once Jayden starts his work, he will forget the time.
Callie's POV
We had our evening snacks and were waiting for Jayden to come back home as we were dying to go out and have street food. It's been weeks since we three had gone out for dinner together and so Jayden had planned it. The best thing about street food is it keeps you grounded and there's nothing to hold you back, when you are earning for juicy shawarma and cola. My mouth has started watering at the thought of it.
I had to tell so many things to Scarlett, so I grabbed the opportunity and told her everything about my suspicion.
"Callie, why haven't you told Jayden about it." She whispered. We had decided that I will not speak and use a writing pad at home. It's hard for me to trust anyone these days and if my suspicion were correct then, there would be a grave danger if the killer comes to know that I can speak.
