After reading it Scarlett looked at me desperately and said. " Can I stay with Jayden tonight, you guys can go and Hudson you better take her to your house, as I don't think the mansion is safe for Callie right now."
I knew Scarlett was worried about Jayden so I agreed. Though I too wanted to stay the doctor had already told us that only one person could stay.
Hudson agreed too and after making sure that Scarlett was allowed to stay with Jayden, I and Hudson headed home. Liam had also tagged along with us as he lives close to Hudson's house.
As we drove along the busy street, Liam cleared his throat and said softly. "Boss, I don't know if you have heard about it or not but there was a fire breakout in the outskirts of the town and the house was burnt very badly. They were saying that they found two corpses which had burnt severely and it was not even recognizable."
"That's sad, may their soul rest in peace," Hudson said distractedly.
"But you did not ask me whose house burnt down?" Liam asked him softly.
Hudson was driving but he turned and looked at Liam who was sitting behind. "Don't beat around the bush and tell me, Liam."
Liam could see his boss was very irritated and was scared that he would make him angry so he said swiftly. " It was the house of Jeremy Matthew's , the lawyer who had been handling Logan Brown's case."
Hudson was driving very carefully but all of a sudden he stooped the car and I was thrown slightly forward, if it weren't for the seat belt I would have hit my head real bad.
Liam fell on the car seat and was trying to get up.
"Honey are you alright?" Hudson asked with concern.
I nodded my head. Although the news Liam had given us was a bad one, we could not ignore the fact that it was related to my godfather's case.
I looked behind at Liam to see, if he was alright and saw that Liam was fine and I smiled at him.
As if sensing my concern, Liam reassured me with a thumbs-up sign showing that he was fine.
Hudson sat quietly for some time and said very softly. " Liam take your men and find out what's going on? And try to find out Logan's whereabout, as I am pretty sure once we find him the mystery will be solved. You better be careful as we are dealing with a manic killer. But first we need to learn what happened in the past then only we can get hold of him. I am giving you twelve hours Liam, I want the report on my table tomorrow morning." Hudson gave orders with ease and after that, we dropped Liam at his house and drove away towards Hudson's apartment.

The cabin rested in the center of a heavy forest in a remote part of southwest Seattle . A muddy, tire-gouged strip of dirt was the only way in or out. Levi Brown came in front of the door, he was holding a gun in his hand, His boots were dirty and haggard. The truck was parked under a leafy shield of short pine trees but Levi had taken the added precaution of covering the vehicle with camouflage netting.
His biggest worry was how would they build the fire. Luckily he had stocked this place with a lot of food and medical equipment, so they won't have to bother for many days. But it was quite cold in the night they needed to have something to warm them up so he was planning to go the town and make some arrangements.
Logan sat on the floor, his broad back resting against the wall, his bible on his lap. He was drinking coffee, the breakfast was lying just like it. He had changed into a jeans and T-shirt which his brother had brought for him.
"Hey big brother, are u alright? Why aren't you eating your breakfast?" Levi commented when he saw Logan had not touched his food.
"How is she doing? Did they have their food?" Logan said with concern as he was deeply worried about them.
"They are fine brother, the old doc said that it was because of the smoke they were suffocated but thankfully there were no burns or they would have to be rushed to the hospital for observation. And we cannot take the risk right now. Thankfully we reached on time." Levi said with relief in his voice.
" I know Levi or I would have never forgiven myself for it. It was because he was seeking justice for me that he got into trouble in the first place, poor Jeremy , I will make sure that he and his wife are safe Levi and we need to do something fast or they will definitely try to locate us. They are thick-skinned buffaloes who will never change." Logan said with annoyance in his voice.
"Alright, I will think of something but you need to eat your food on time or you will be out of energy pretty fast .you have to take care of your health." Levi said lovingly.
Logan shook his face but said nothing.
Levi on the other hand knew that his brother was not in the best of his moods so he went to check on Jeremy and his wife again, as he made sure that they were hidden securely and no one but the old doctor and his nephew Jonah knew about that place.
Logan saw him walk away and recalled how they had managed to save Jeremy and his wife Jane.
After running away from the remand hospital. He and Levi had stayed at their nephew's place who owned many chains of hotels in Seattle and had quite a few places to hide and no one would suspect him as he maintained a very low profile.
But Logan wanted to talk to Jeremy as he had been his legal guardian for many years and because of him he had been alive or his so-called friends would have killed him a long time back.
They had called Jeremy's office and came to know that he had gone home and as Levi knew his address they had driven downtown Where he lived. Only to be horrified at the scene which they saw from a distance.
His house was blazing with fire and they could see many men had surrounded the house. They were watching the house burn down.
Logan and Levi were feeling hopeless, as they could not save them.
They were accompanied by four fighter men, whom their nephew had assigned for them as he feared their safety.
