THE ALPHA’S
Jake after seeing Isabelle smile at him and burst into giggles was assured that Isabelle was happy with Mable's care and so let the two she-wolfs go and do their own thing. He couldn't help but feel protective over his mate after everything she had been through but he had to remind himself Isabelle was an Alpha too and needed him to respect her strength and allow her to develop her independence that had so long been denied to her, so when Isabelle disappeared up the stairs he fought the urge to follow her and went to his office and summoned his Beta Carl so he could focus on pack business for a while to take his mind off Isabelle.
"You summoned me Jakey," Carl chuckled as he slipped into the Alpha's office. " Jakey, you haven't called me that since we were teenagers" Jake smiled gesturing to the chair opposite him for Carl to sit. " Well rumour has it our big bad Alpha was seen acting like a love sick teenager, so I thought it was appropriate." Carl smirked his eyes dancing with mischief." Let me guess the same rumours spread by the same warriors who had practically told the whole pack that they got their asses kicked by Isabelle and that she was their new Luna before she could even say hello to the pack Remind me to up the warriors training they clearly aren't finding it tiring enough if they still have the energy to gossip like fish wives." Jake and Carl laughed together before Carl's expression turned serious.
"Jake, I am truly happy for you my friend. After Laura...her death changed you, you became distant and cold...I understand why but seeing you so closed off was horrible I am so happy as are the pack to see you smiling and laughing again, no one deserves happiness more than you." Carl getting choked with emotion gruffly nodded now that he had said his piece not wanting to get too emotional in front of his Alpha and seem weak. " Carl.... thank you Laura's death...it broke me. I was scared of getting hurt again so I closed myself off emotionally even from my friends and pack members I may have been there to train to pack, protect them and provide for them but I wasn't there for them as a friend or family member to support them and for that, I am truly... sorry. You were always there for me though trying to reach me and pull me out of my pain and you're a true friend Carl and I appreciate your support and friendship over the years..." Carl suddenly sprang to his feet and grabbed Jake squeezing him in a bear hug so tight it made Jake gasp. " You're welcome Jake, now that's enough of that girly emotional stuff or we will loose our reputations as the fiercest Alpha and Beta in the kingdom Now tell me about Isabelle you two have accepted each other and we couldn't ask the Moon Goddess for a better Luna for the pack she is a fierce warrior but she's in trouble isn't she" Carl said regaining his composure and sitting comfortably back in the chair opposite Jake.
" Isabelle is in danger yes but the danger is not immediate so tonight we will focus on welcoming her into the pack and tomorrow I will ask her if she can share her story with you and Owen you both will need to know as pack Beta and Delta so you know what we are up against but it's not my story to tell and Isabelle has been through so much I do not want to break her trust by telling you without her permission. " Jake looked into Carl's eyes to get him to understand his position, yes he was Alpha and needed to protect the pack and Carl was his Beta and best friend but Isabelle was his mate and she deserved his loyalty and protection. "Of course, I understand as long as she is safe that's all I care about she is my Luna and my best friends mate but I also like her she is one though she-wolf to take on that many Rogues and our elite warriors and in human form to Jake my friend you may have just met your match, be careful not too anger her I think she can definitely take you in a fight" Carl chuckled.
"Thanks for understanding Carl, we will tell you all you need to know tomorrow but for now let's get ready for the feast I believe Mable is organising a black-tie event "
"Yeah she threatened the whole pack telling them they better make an effort to dress up and be extra welcoming to their new Luna or they will have her to deal with. Looks like Isabelle has made quite an impression on her too." Carl smiled.
"Wow my mate is a tougher warrior than I thought if she has been here less than a day and already tamed the enforcer, I will definitely take your advice and not get on the wrong side of her if she can tame Mable and now has Mable as her protector" Jake smiled mischievously as he looked at his watch " I better go and get ready for this feast I don't want to suffer Mable's wrath either, I have organised the warriors training schedule for the week and planned a trip to the mall tomorrow for Isabelle after our meeting with you, can you look over the training plan and organise security for our trip tomorrow please You and Owen will be left in charge of the pack from noon to sundown tomorrow so you will need to meet him after you've done that to coordinate your schedules. I have to go I have a surprise to organise for Isabelle before I get changed are you ok to do all that before the feast" Jake asked edging his way towards the door. " Of course, off you go you love sick pup"Carl shouted after him as Jake was already sprinting down the hall way.
Isabelle stood in her room she felt so nervous, Mable had gushed over and over how beautiful she looked but Isabelle couldn't help but feel self-conscious. She had never wore a dress quite like this one, the evening dresses the Rogue Alpha forced her to wear were always low cut or see-through, this one although sexy was classy and Isabelle loved its colour and material, she just hoped she looked ok she desperately wanted to make a good impression on her new pack. Isabelle could hear what sounded like Hundreds of voices downstairs and the thought of so many people was making her queasy so she went over the the window opening it hoping the crisp cool breeze would ease her queasiness suddenly Isabelle heard a knock at the door, that must be Mable here to escort me Isabelle thought " Come in" she replied politely but as the door opened Jake walked in and starred opened mouthed at Isabelle. Jake had his jet black hair gelled backwards and was wearing a tight fitting tuxedo that showed off his well defined muscles perfectly. " Wow... you look... I mean just wow... you are so gorgeous Isabelle that dress suits you perfectly." Jake finally managed to say as his eyes roamed his mate in appreciation.
Isabelle stood before Jake her ankle length blonde hair was curled and clasped to one side over her shoulder with three huge diamond encrusted clips, her dress was floor length emerald green silk with a side slit to show her well-toned long legs, the colour matched her eyes beautifully. The dress was corseted at the back and sweetheart shaped at the neckline in the front. The top of the dress had tiny real diamonds sown into the neckline making it sparkle to match the hair clips and the dress hugged Isabelle's womanly curves like a second skin. Mable had kept Isabelle's makeup simple with a thick coating of mascara to make her eyes pop more a slight coating of blusher and a clear coat of lip gloss to highlight the natural plumpness and ruby red of Isabelle's lips. Isabelle also wore gold high heels with diamond straps and carried a small silk clutch bag that was emerald green in colour and covered in real diamonds. "Thank you, the dresses you provided are beautiful but this one is my favourite." Isabelle shyly smiled as she assessed her mate and her wolf began to purr.
" Oh I almost forgot these are for you...." Jake pulled a box from his pocket and a red rose from behind his back. " Jake, you really didn't need to you have been so kind already." Isabelle smelt the beautiful flower its sweet scent filling her senses she smiled at Jake before opening the box and gasping. " They were my mother’s; they have been in the pack for generations passed down to the next Luna there's a whole closet full of jewellery that now belongs to you I will give you tomorrow. I didn't know what dress you were wearing tonight but I know how much the ring the trainer gave you means to you and thought you would like something to match it for tonight." Jake said pleased Isabelle seemed to like his choice in jewellery and they matched the dress beautifully. Isabelle pulled the two long emerald tear drop shaped earrings delicately from the box and put them on before walking to Jake and tiptoeing up to kiss him lovingly on the cheek. " Thank you Jake they are beautiful." Jake smiling at his mate in awe of her beauty offered his arm and they made their way to the grande stairs.
Jake mind-linked Carl that they were ready and Carl made his way to the bottom of the stairs to announce them. "She-wolf's, Werewolf's and Pups may I have your attention please, it is my pleasure to announce your Alpha and his mate your new Luna Isabelle." Jake kissed a nervous Isabelle on the back of her hand and then held her hand lovingly squeezing it reassuringly as they made their way down the winding marble staircase into the ball hall. Isabelle gracefully glided down the stairs her posture straight remembering her mother’s lesson on how a Luna should enter a room. As Isabelle descended the stairs she could see the pack members smiling at her warmly and starring at her with pride, she also heard lots of murmurs in the background of " She is beautiful", " simply stunning", " we are blessed to have her as our Luna", " she is a deadly fighter but so stunning and graceful too..." the kind comments and welcoming atmosphere made Isabelle feel finally like she was part of a pack again and her joy shone through into her dazzling smile and loving aura. At the bottom of the steps Jake unexpectedly turned to face Isabelle and took her hand kissed it then fell gracefully into a deep bow - coming from an Alpha it was the ultimate sign of respect and Isabelle was left speechless." Welcome to your new pack Isabelle" Jake whispered into her ear before turning to address the pack " members of the Blood Fang Pack, I am sure some of the warriors have already told you that they have met and had their assess kicked by your new Luna Isabelle but they were mistaken.... Isabelle is not your new Luna... " the pack members broke out into shocked gasps and Isabelle felt like her whole world was crumbling apart " Isabelle is not like any other Luna" Jake declared loudly in his Alpha voice to get the pack to quieten to listen to his announcement as Isabelle bowed her head in shame, she should of known she was not Luna material, how could she think Jake actually wanted her after the Rogue Alpha had tarnished her so " Isabelle has the strength of not only a twin but of a female Alpha too as demonstrated when she kicked our elite warriors assess this morning, her strength is not only genetic however she has gone through many challenges in her life and I do no think anyone would be able to over come the challenges she has faced and make it through them still a kind and loving person as she has. Her strength both physical and emotional and loving character make her a great assets to this pack. I have been thinking about this since this morning and I have decided not to take Isabelle as my Luna.... I would like Isabelle to do me the honour of becoming my mate and the packs co Alpha." Jake said dropping to one knee he produced a gold plated brooch that held the Blood Fangs pack crest identical to his Alpha brooch a symbol werewolf's traditionally wore at mixed packs gatherings to show the Alphas of the packs present.
The room fell into a hushed silence there had never been in the history of werewolf's two Alphas in a pack and only ever one female werewolf who had ran a pack and that was over 100 years ago." Jake.... oh i..." Isabelle was overwhelmed with relief Jake was not rejecting her as she first feared and overwhelmed with love for her mate who had changed Isabelle's life so dramatically in the past day, showering her with all the love and respect she deserved but was denied the past decade of her life. Isabelle fell to her knees with to join Jake and grabbed him and she kissed him with all the passion she had. Fireworks seemed to go off in both of their minds and their whole bodies vibrated with sexual energy, they were so caught up in each others embrace they forgot about the over 800 pack members that were in front of them until a cheer broke out bringing them both back to the present " Let's hear it for our Alpha's!!" Carl shouted and the room erupted into a joyous chorus of cheers.
