THE ENFORCER
As they entered the packhouse Isabelle could see news had indeed spread of her incident this morning with the battalion she had met and the fact she was the new Luna as warriors she had not yet met sized her up whilst starring at her in disbelieving awe and pack members nodded at her or curtsied respectfully as was the fitting way to greet an Alpha and Luna. Isabelle greeted the warriors and pack members in return with a warm smile and for the first time in her life, she couldn't help but wish she was dressed more appropriately - her mother would be proud of her sudden interest in looking respectful Isabelle thought as she nervously tried her best to straighten out her mud-stained clothing and brush the dust from the training ground from her face. " What’s wrong" Jake turned to look at her sensing her unease. "I am meeting your... sorry our pack for the first time and I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards as my mother would often tell me, it's not the best first impression of me is it," Isabelle said with a sigh.
"Isabelle my love you a perfect the way you are, grass in your hair and all, you are their Luna and they will love you because you are kind and compassionate but they will respect you also because you are fierce, strong and capable of co-leading the pack. The Blood Fang Pack is the strongest pack in the kingdom, we have the most elite warriors and even pups as young as 6 are trained to fight and they fight well - the pack wants a strong fierce Luna and that my love you have proven to be when you kicked the warriors assess. They don't need a feeble-minded Luna who can arrange pretty tables and who cares more about her appearance than being able to defend the pack," Jake chuckled as he pulled blades of grass out Isabelle's hair and lovingly kissed her dusty cheek. " Thank you, I am just nervous as my mother tried to teach me how to be a proper Luna and I failed miserably, I never had an interest in flower arranging, learning to speak softly, table setting etc. and instead focused on training as a warrior so I am so relieved to hear you say you don't expect me to be the traditional type of Luna as I couldn't be even if I tried." Isabelle chuckled in return and looked lovingly at her mate, the Moon Goddess really had paired her with her perfect partner, no other pack would accept as warrior as a Luna Isabelle thought gratefully and she leaned in and grabbed Jake, her wolf had taken over and just as she was about to kiss him passionately chaos broke out.
"MOVE YOU GOSSIPING OLD BIDDIES! IT'S NOT PROPER TO GAWK AT YOUR LUNA AND ALPHA... SHOO... OFF WITH YOU!" The cause of the chaos shouted as she made her way down the corridor towards them walloping the warriors on the head who were watching their vicious Alpha turn into a lovesick pup in front of them. " We will see how brave you are now, it's time to meet aunt Mable or as I call her the pack enforcer..." Jake whispered into Isabelle's ear his voice full of humour " The Packenforcer You make that sweet looking old werewolf sound like a mobster." Isabelle chuckled in return assessing the old werewolf who was still hobbling towards them " Oh believe me she could be, I have seen that SWEET OLD WEREWOLF make warriors cry after she has finished reprimanding them for dirtying the floors she has just cleaned, the look of fear in their eyes when being reprimanded by Mable will always be more scared looking than when they are in battle." Jake chuckled as he wrapped his arms around Isabelle's waist. "You jest, I don't believe anyone could be scared of that lovely sweet looking old werewolf," Isabelle said as she smiled in return to Mable who was hobbling closer to them and smiling at Isabelle in a warm motherly manner. " We will see... if you still feel the same once you are her victim which will be soon since she's nearly here..." Jake managed to reply before he flinched slightly as the enforcer started to reprimand him.
" JAKE NATHANIEL JACKSON!! What have you done to that poor girl Look at the state of her she's like something the cat has dragged in, poor child I bet you haven't even eaten before he dragged you out side and did god knows what to you Oh you poor girl come let's get you freshened up dear and that stomach filled you must be starving..." Mable dragged an amused Isabelle away with surprising strength not giving her the chance to even reply. " And I will speak to you about this later...!" Mable turned to give Jake a warning look as Isabelle turned to look over her shoulder and burst out giggling at the sight before her, Jake the kingdom's fiercest Alpha looked at Mable with a flickering of fear in his eyes. "Come on then dear" Mable smiled warmly at Isabelle leading her towards the stairs.
Mable had taken Isabelle to the room she had first awoken in and as Mable opened the door Isabelle no longer in a drug-induced daze or busy plotting her escape could finally take in the room's beauty. The room was huge, it had sage green walls with gold damask wallpaper on the main wall where a huge Queen sized bed sat centred in the middle, the room had a large white marbled dressing table that had a matching gold stool and mirror and the dresser seemed to have an array of new feminine products displayed on top of it such as makeup and hair products. Opposite the dresser was a large writing desk with a new laptop and writing implements in front of large bay windows and on the wall opposite the bed lay the door to a huge en-suite bathroom that was all white marble and a huge walk in closet. The rooms sage colour scheme made the room feel tranquil and the gold gave it an luxurious edge her mother would have approved of the rooms design Isabelle thought. " It's a lovely room isn't it It was Jake's mothers, he has not permitted anyone to enter it until... you joined us Jake sent a few she-wolfs into town to buy you a few clothes this morning they should be hung up in your wardrobe already and a few feminine things but he said he will take you into town tomorrow if you are feeling up to it so you can buy clothes and products you prefer. He also bought you a new laptop so you can watch shows on it as there is no tv in here." Mable said smiling at Isabelle's excited expression. " That was really kind of him but he didn't have to go to so much trouble or spend so much money on me..." Isabelle tried to protest. " Nonsense, you are his mate if he can't spend money on his mate then who can he spend money on Now dear the bathroom is over there, everything you need is in there I will leave you to enjoy a nice bath or shower and just ring the bell when done and I will bring you up a snack and then we can do your hair and makeup and chose you a dress for tonight mm... sound like a plan" Mable said as she smiled kindly. " That sounds great thank you Mable." Isabelle nodded at the kind woman as she left and went to explore the bathroom, deciding the huge Jacuzzi tub looked to appealing to ignore Isabelle filled it to the top before jumping into its welcoming bliss.
Isabelle had enjoyed the bath immensely it was the first time in over a decade that she could truly relax, without fear of assault and enjoy the warm caress of the water soothing her aching muscles and after her fight with the warrior's this morning they were definitely in need of soothing. Reluctantly she pulled herself out of the bath wrapping her long now clean hair and herself into large fluffy towels and rang the bell for Mable. Whilst waiting for Mable curiosity got the better of Isabelle and she decided to check out her closet. Walking into the closet Isabelle was speechless, the closet wall was about 15 foot in length and six in height and from floor to ceiling on half the wall was clothes folded neatly in the glass draws or hang up with care. The clothes were mainly casual jeans, t-shirts, sundresses or mostly workout clothes for training but at the end of the rail were 4 of the most beautiful dresses Isabelle had ever seen. One dress was ruby red lace, it was strapless and floor-length with a huge split from ankle to mid-thigh. The second was a 1920's style gold beaded flapper dress that had a beautiful gold lace cover-up and gold beaded clutch bag to match, the third was a black velvet floor length off the shoulder gown that had long sheer sleeves and its back swooped low to show off her whole back and the fourth was Isabelle favourite. Isabelle looked closer at and felt the fourth dress it was simply stunning. " Yes that was my favourite dress too, its colouring would suit you best I think " Mable said unintentionally sneaking up on Isabelle and giving her a fright.
" Jeez, Mable, you are unexpectedly stealthy! " Isabelle said in amusement clutching her chest where her heart was still beating erratically. Mable scoffed," another reason no doubt why that big idiot- the Alpha calls me the 'enforcer' no doubt- my ability to walk with deadly silence " Mable grinned at a shocked looking Isabelle " Yes dear I know about the nickname, he has been calling me that since he was 7 and I caught him in the kitchen red-handed scoffing a whole ten layered cake that had taken the cooks two days to bake, assemble and decorate and was meant for the packs annual Moon Goddess feast I took him over my knee and spanked him until his little bottom was red, the pup couldn't sit down for a whole day. Not that the spanking changed him mind you he was stealing cakes out the kitchen two days later again." Isabelle chuckled at the thought of her mate as a cheeky mischievous pup he sounded so much like her brother Josh as a pup they would have got on well she thought.
"Any way dear let's get you to your dressing table, I can do your hair and make up for you if you would like whilst you eat That way we will have you ready for the feast in no time." Isabelle nodded and smiled warmly before she was dragged over by an excited Mable to the dressing table. As she sat happily eating whilst Mable fussed over her hair and makeup, Isabelle noticed ever since this morning when she had accepted Jake as her mate she had for the first time in years begun to think about her family a lot. Most likely because for the first time since she was with her family she was beginning to feel happy and safe. She missed her family but these happier memories she was now reliving made her feel connected still to them, she just hoped the Blood Fang Pack would accept her and allow her to have the chance to make many more happy memories and have a family again.
She would find out very soon if her future would be a happy one at the feast tonight.
