THE KING’S REWARD
The battle wasn't really much of a battle.
The Rogue's may have outnumbered the Royal guards but the Royal guards out skilled them.
The Royal guards had nearly dispatched for all of the Rogues without barely breaking a sweat their savageness as they fought a huge contrast to their natural beauty, even Vincent the only male guard despite exuding raw masculinity had beautiful features with his long thick lashes and unblemished skin that covered his thick muscles, his beauty was equally as enviable as the female guards.
Everyone was still so engrossed in watching the Royal guards display of impressive skills and lethal grace that they didn't see one of the three hidden Rogues stalk the king with an arrow and bow in his hand as the other two kept their position in the foliage with their scents hidden.
The Rogue raised his bow at the Kings exposed back and aimed for his heart.
The Queen had taken over tending to Jake as the King was on the phone with the Alpha of the Midnight Moon pack informing him of their expected arrival in approximately half a days time when the Rogue released the silver-tipped arrow and it flew through the air with silent force making the King landed on the ground with a groan.
" Are you okay your majesty? " Isabelle asked as she sat on top of him for a few minutes checking his body for any other wounds.
Isabelle had given into her bodies need for rest and was sleeping soundly despite the noise of the battle, trusting that the Queen would keep them safe and allowing her aching muscles to rest when her wolf suddenly screamed " DANGER! " and she bolted upright alert.
Isabelle had woken up just in time to witness a Rogue about to release a deadly arrow aimed at the King. Knowing she didn't have enough time to stop the arrow being released she did that next best thing and reacted automatically, as she using what was left of her energy ran with Alpha speed and threw herself on top of the King. She was not quick enough to stop the arrow deeply piercing his skin but she was quick enough so that the arrow hit the Kings shoulder rather than his heart, saving the Kings life.
"Yes I am okay, but my mate looks livid and I am not sure if that's because the Rogue tried to kill me or because an attractive she-wolf is straddling me naked" The King chuckled trying to take his mind off the pain radiating from his shoulder, with the same dark humour Jake had making Isabelle see why they were such good friends.
Isabelle blushed with embarrassment despite seeing the funny sided and looked towards the Queen apologetically before she stood up and tightening the cloak around her and helping the King to his feet.
The Queen rolled her eyes as the King, only he could joke after someone just tried to assassinate him... that man was infuriating at times! But at the minute her fury was mainly focused on the Rogue in front of her who looked at her fearfully as her aura emanated anger and her sweet angelic face seemed to change into that of an avenging angel, as her beautiful light lilac eyes went dark with anger and she let out a growl so terrifying that even Isabelle who had no reason to become slightly fearful.
The Royal guards had dispatched all the Rogues they were battling with and now noticing that the King was injured four of them ran towards the King and Queen trying to protect them from any further attacks whilst Vincent ran towards the Rogue who dared harm the King his vicious jaws snapping.
"STOP! "The Queen demanded her voice harsh with anger directed at the Rogue.
"This vermin harmed my mate, he is MINE! Go to your King protect him and sent the Royal army to join the Blood Fang Charlie and Beta groups searching for any Rogues left, I want every one of the Rogues dead by sunrise! " The Queen ordered before she gracefully glided towards the Rogue who harmed her mate with vengeance reflected in her beautiful purple eyes and Vincent knowing his Queen could easily handle at least twenty Rogues at once bowed before going to do as he was bid.
The Queen wasted no time as she with impressive speed and strength glided up to him and grabbed him by the neck.
She lifted him clean off the ground, maintaining eye contact as she strangled the life from him.
He dangled in the air kicking wildly and frantically trying to remove her vice-like grip before he took his last breath and the Queen released her grip letting his body fall to the ground. And feeling satisfied he could never again harm her mate the Queen began to take deep calming breaths to regain control of her anger before she made her way back to her mate to comfort him.
" Soreen, my love are you okay? " She asked stroking his face gently his face and looking at his shoulder which had already had the arrow removed and been bandaged
" No my love I fear not... " Soreen said grimacing in pain in a weakened voice.
" Oh my love, what can I do to help? " The Queen replied anxiously and the King in reply beckoned her to come closer so he could tell her in his weakened state. " I am here love, tell me."
" Well, you can make sure the army and Blood Fang pack move quickly to the Midnight Moon pack lands.... " The King whispered as the Queen interrupted him.
" Oh of course, my love you must be weakened and tired from your wound, you will need to rest..."
" Actually love... " the King replied interrupting the Queen. "I was thinking we should get there quickly so you can ride my cock wildly like you said you would earlier. I am still in need of respite and now need a pleasant distraction to take my mind off my pain...." The King replied and the fake weakness slipped from his voice and was replaced with a lustful tone as he grabbed her wrist and kissed the back of it.
The Queen's eyes darkened " Oh you wretched man! I was so worried about you! " She said annoyed as she swatted him in the other shoulder.
" Easy love I already have one sore shoulder and you are a lot stronger than you know." Soreen said as he stroked her cheek to pacifist her anger." A sore shoulder will be the least of your worries if you ever scare me like that again! And thank you Zia for taking care of his wound. " The Queen replied getting to her feet and gently pulling her mate with her.
" It wasn't me your majesty, it was the Demon Alpha's mate. " Zia replied keeping her back to the Queen and dutifully continuing to scan their surrounding for signs of threats. The King nodded in conformation and the Queen giving her mate one last annoyed glance gracefully made her way over to Isabelle.
" Isabelle you really are amazing, you saved my mates life then had the grace to treat his wounds and so expertly too, how can we ever thank you? " The Queen asked as she grabbed Isabelle without warning and squeezed her in a tight embrace.
"It was nothing, your majesty.... "
"Nonsense, it was a display of your quick warrior reflects and courage. After the battles you no doubt have already endured before we reached you the fact you were alert enough to notice a threat no one else did just proves you are a natural-born warrior with great potential. and call me Andria if the she-wolf who saved my mates life is not permitted too then who is?" The Queen smiled warmly at Isabelle and Isabelle returned the smile.
" The Queen is right Isabelle you saved my life and you shall be rewarded for it and for doing the kingdom a great service by taking care of the Rogue Alpha. But for now, let's gather your pack and my army and travel to the Midnight Moon pack where we can all rest and we can get Jake seen to by a doctor, he is okay just now but he will be better in a comfortable bed. " The King ordered.
As they all gathered after making sure they carried out the Queen's orders and killed all the remaining Rogues, apart from the two still undetected they then marched through the forest led by the King and Queen.
The two Rogues after their departure left the refuge of their hiding spot to carry out the rest of their plan.
They went to the spot where the King was shot and searched.
After a while they found what they were looking for and smiling with victory they carefully placed it in a sealed container so not to contaminate it then they searched through the pile of detached heads, limbs and lifeless corpses until they found him.
They leaned down to check and just as they hoped the wound was not inflicted with silver nor deep enough in every place to be fatal and it was already beginning to heal. The blood on his now human skin dried and his angry red eyes suddenly snapped open - their Beta wasn't dead after all.
