Anabel proceeded and called the number, hoping he wouldn't ignore her call. The moment Desmond saw the call, he smiled, knowing it was Anabel.
Without a second thought, he reached toward a small control panel near his desk and pressed a button that modified his voice slightly. He didn’t want Anabel to recognize him. Then, he went on and picked up the call.
"Hello," he answered, keeping his tone moderate.
Anabel straightened slightly in her chair before speaking up. "Good morning, sir, am I speaking with the CEO of Desmos Advertising Agency?"
"Yes," Desmond responded. "Who is on the line?"
"My name is Anabel Orton. I’m the CEO of Steez Group." She answered, and Desmond smiled inwardly, but he kept his tone neutral. "Ah, Miss Orton. How may I assist you?"
"I wanted to personally reach out and express my satisfaction with the advertising campaign your company handled for us. The results have been incredible. Our sales skyrocketed, and our engagement has never been better." Anabel said, and Desmond leaned back in his chair, amused by her enthusiasm.
"That’s how it’s supposed to be." Desmond replied. "When we handle a campaign, we ensure success. Desmos Advertising doesn’t settle for average results."
"It was definitely worth every dollar spent. Which is why I'm calling. I want to meet with you."
"Meet with me?" Desmond raised an eyebrow.
"Yes," Anabel confirmed. "I want to speak with you in person. Like... meet face-to-face." She said, and Desmond smirked slightly. "Alright, when would you like us to meet?"
"I'm free today," Anabel said. "If you're available, we can arrange something immediately."
Desmond tapped his fingers against his desk, pretending to think before asking, "Where would you like us to meet?"
"I would prefer if you come to my office. I have a package for you." She replied, and Desmond's smirk widened, but he kept his tone neutral.
"Very well, I will be in your office in the next hour."
"Alright , I will be waiting."

As soon as the call ended, Anabel wasted no time. She scrolled down to her contact and called her favorite luxury store.
"I need a very special wristwatch. Something exceptional."
"What is your budget, ma'am?" The sales manager asked.
"Five hundred thousand dollars. I want it in my office in the next thirty minutes."
"Sure. You will receive seven different watches in less than thirty minutes. You will choose from them."
"Alright, I'm waiting." Once that was settled, she turned to her assistant.
"Make arrangements for wine. A special guest is coming, and I want everything to be perfect." She stated, and her assistant nodded and left to organize everything.
She had no idea that the man she was about to meet... The one she was preparing the lavish welcome for was none other than Desmond, her ex-husband.
.
(40 minutes later)
Desmond summarized what he was doing and got prepared. He wanted to visit Anabel in a different way. He called his driver and security team to ensure that his arrival carried weight. He wanted the moment to be different. As they drove off, Desmond kept thinking about the kind of package Anabel had for him and how she would react once she sees him.
As the car pulled up to the towering headquarters of the Steez Group, the security personnel stationed at the entrance immediately recognized the prestigious guest. He stepped out and adjusted his suit slightly. He was met with respectful greetings.
"Welcome, sir," one of the guards said, nodding as he gestured for Desmond to proceed inside.
The moment he entered, the workers began to peek from different angles. They wanted to see the man their CEO was eagerly waiting for. The man behind the huge sales. The security personnel led him to Anabel’s office.
Anabel, meanwhile, was fully prepared. She had ensured everything was set. Her office was perfectly arranged, and the luxurious wristwatch was neatly packed, waiting to be presented to her special guest. She had thought she was meeting a very powerful CEO. She had no idea she was about to see Desmond.
Then...the door opened, and Desmond stepped inside. For a moment, everything froze.
Anabel’s eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe it. The man standing before her. The CEO she had been preparing to meet was Desmond, her ex-husband.
