"Alright, let me call him." Anabel picked up her phone and called Max.

"Hello, Max. I want to see you in my office right now." Anabel said once he picked up.

"Is there any problem?" Max asked.

"Stop asking questions and come to my office." Anabel replied and hung up. Not a minute later, he showed up.

"Ma'am, you called me." Max said.

"Yes. We have a problem. Five million dollars is missing from the company's account." Anabel said, staring at Max, who stood in front of her feigning confusion. He was confused on how they found out already.

Max didn't see that coming. He did everything so perfectly that no one will find out so soon. His heart began to race, seeing that he had put himself in a very big mess. He has crafted everything that no one will know, but it has been detected in just hours.

“Five million dollars? That's a very huge amount of money. How could this happen?” He asked. "Who stole the money?"

He was asking as if he didn't know anything about it. So that no one will even suspect him.

"The financial officer said that this morning, he was reviewing payment notifications, but the money was not going into our account until an hour ago." Anabel said, and Max's heart began to race more. He was getting into big trouble. He has to do something immediately.

"Mr. Desmond said the problem must be from the system. I called you so you will handle the issue."

"I have suspected something like this will happen after the system was attacked." Max began. "The hacker must have done more than just logging users out of the website and apps yesterday. This is so terrible. People are envious of your recent progress. I will get to the root of this problem.”

"You will get to the root of the problem when you can't secure the system. Why didn’t you secure the system before this could happen?” Desmond asked.

“The system is secured. I don’t know how they got access.” Max said, and Desmond crossed his arms as if he was unimpressed.

“You are the head of the system department, Max. Your number one priority should be making sure the company is protected from all cyberattacks. If money has gone missing under your watch, then you are to blame.”

"I understand. I’ll do my best to fix it.”

Desmond turned to Anabel and asked. “How long has he been working here?”

“Just a few months ago,” she replied. “Our system was malfunctioning, and he was the one who saved us. Sylvester was the one who introduced him. He urged me to give him the position, and I did. He’s been doing well.” She finished, and Desmond’s eyes darkened slightly. “Sylvester was the one who brought him?”

“Yes.” Anabel replied, and Desmond’s lips pressed into a thin line. He doesn't trust Sylvester. He can do anything to get her money.

“The hacker’s bank information must still be in the system,” Desmond said and turned back to Max. “Crack the codes and fish out the bank account.”

“Alright, I will work on it.” Max replied.

"Do it fast and report to me immediately." Anabel ordered in a commanding tone, and Max forced a tight smile before he replied. “Understood.”

The moment Max left, Desmond turned back to Anabel, lowering his voice slightly as he spoke. “I don’t trust him.”

Anabel frowned slightly and asked. “Why?

"Because Sylvester is involved. And I never trusted him.” He said, and Anabel tilted her head. “Are you saying..."

“I'm suspecting them, but there’s something I will need to ask you first. It’s outside of business, but I want to know."
