Vivian woke up the next morning and left the hotel in a hurry. She didn't even enjoy the sex that she had last night, the man she called wasn't half as good as Adrian is with his dick. She asked him to leave that same night and then slept over at the hotel.
She hurried out of the hotel, heading straight to the company, she had a lot to sort out and she already had a sinking feeling in her stomach. Her heart was racing inside her chest as she wondered who could be working with Rod in the company. He had to be working with someone there for those pictures to have found their way into the documents.
Who could be working with Rod and why was that person determined to bring her down?
As soon as she got to the company, she got out of her car quickly and went to the financial department first. She asked to meet with the financial manager who came out to see her.
“Good morning ma'am.” He greeted.
“Good morning. I hope my message was delivered yesterday, concerning a certain contract.” She inquired, hoping that the funds hadn't been approved yet. She knew that Scarlett wasn't bluffing about the things she told her over the phone.
“Yes ma'am and I assure you that the funds have not been approved for NorthWind Co.” The financial manager answered.
“Show me the records immediately,” Vivian demanded, she needed to be sure and see things for herself. The manager took her to see the records and truly, the funds were not approved. Relieved, Vivian thanked him and left.
After leaving there, she marched to Maxwell's office in anger, suspecting him of working with Rod. After all, he was the one who submitted those documents to her in the first place.
“Good morning ma'am. Is there a problem?” Maxwell asked, seeing the foul expression on Vivian's face as she walked in. She glared at him.
“Why the hell did you submit such a document for me to sign without reviewing it first? Isn't it your job to review all the documents carefully before you send them to me? Do you know the amount of money we would have lost!?” She yelled at him with red eyes, refusing to acknowledge his greeting earlier.
“Document? What document are you talking about?” He asked.
“Don't play fool with me Maxwell because I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. The contract from NorthWind Co.”
“NorthWind Co? I never sent such a document to you. I only sent you a contract presented to me by my friend's company which was willing to work with me.” Maxwell defended, slowly getting upset too. He didn't like the way Vivian was yelling at him, who did she think she was to yell at him like he was some kind of baby!?
He blamed himself for being there and working under her. If he was to be the boss, she wouldn't have the guts to speak to him like that.
“Then how the hell did those documents find their way into the file you sent?” Vivian questioned, determined to get him to spill the truth because whoever put the NorthWind Co documents there also put the pictures.
“I have no idea. I didn't put them there! How can you even blame me for such a careless act? I've worked with you for thirteen years and this has never happened under my watch! How can you even blame me!?” He raged and Vivian remained silent, watching him.
“I've been loyal to you for thirteen years and this is the thanks I get for everything I've done? I was only trying to help my friend's growing company but now I'm being accused of some crime!” He huffed and picked up his face towel, gently wiping his face.
“I want you to find out who sent those documents, it's your job. I need answers soon.” Vivian's tone was calmer now and she walked out immediately.
Maxwell let out a groan and punched the desk angrily. He couldn't stand her, especially when she was ordering him around.
Coming out of Maxwell's office, Vivian bumped into Richard who was just passing by. He noticed how tense she was looking and asked if she was okay.
“I'm fine uncle. What happened? What are you doing here?” She questioned, calming herself down.
“Well I went to your office to look for you but you weren't there.” He answered. Vivian wondered why he wanted to see her but she still asked him to come along and they went back to her office.
“So what is it?” She asked after they had both settled down.
“The police called me yesterday. They said they have some evidence.” He said and her eyes widened.
“Really? When are you going there?” She questioned.
“I don't have the time to go there yet, but I will check on them as soon as I'm free. I need to know what they're talking about.” He answered and she nodded, sinking into her chair and getting overwhelmed with thoughts.
She couldn't shake the feeling that doom was about to befall her. First, she had to deal with Rod's threats and also find out who he was working with within the company and then she also had the police to deal with as well.
“Don't worry about it,” Richard added.
“You were coming from Maxwell's office. Is everything okay?”
“Yeah.”
“I hope you both aren't having issues, you have to be careful with the way you deal with him. I don't trust him at all.” Richard shook his head.
“Why? Why don't you trust him?” Vivian bit her lip.
“I don't know, but he has always left the impression that he is a cunning man, maybe that's just what I think but I don't trust him,” Richard replied.
Vivian concluded that she was going to keep a close eye on Maxwell, especially after what Richard had just told her.
“That's fine. I will do everything in my power to make sure that Scarlett gets the company unscratched.” She promised and Richard nodded.
“I'll take my leave now. I'll let you know how my meeting with the police goes.” He stood up and left the office while Vivian let out a long sigh.
She was still sexually unsatisfied and needed to do something about it quickly. She picked up her phone and called Adrian, luckily, he answered her call this time around.
“Hey Adrian, are you free now? We need to go see my doctor.” She told him.
“Doctor? What for?” Adrian wondered.
“About your complaint last night of course. You said you have erectile problems, we need to sort it out immediately.”
