After the confrontation with Scarlett at the mall, Isabella realized that it would take more than just mere words to get what she wanted. If she wanted to have Adrian back, she would have to think of a full proof plan, one that would ensure that Scarlett and Adrian had stayed separated.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't think of anything. Vivian was the only option she had, but that plan flopped. She wasn't able to think up any new plans. At a time, she thought about getting rid of Scarlett by killing her, but she quickly shook that thought off.
She could stoop low, but not so low as to kill a person. She has never done that and would never think of doing it. She didn't want anything that would land her in jail.
Isabella was still lost in thought when the door opened and Adrian walked in. She ran to hug him, but he gently pushed her away, glaring at her. She lowered her gaze and scratched the back of her neck as if she regretted any of the things she did.
“Telling Vivian about Scarlett and I.. really?” He asked, looking disappointed.
“Well...” she sighed. “What else do you want me to do? I did that because I want you back, Adrian. I miss you so much, and I just want you back! I'm sorry I had to go to that extent.” She sniffed.
“Your crocodile tears aren't going to fool me, Isabella. You seem to forget that I know you very well. Your tears are simply a means to manipulate me and have your way.” Adrian stated. His eyes darkened, and Isabella quickly wiped her fake tears off, rolling her eyes and frowning.
“That's by the way, though.” He passed his fingers through his hair. “You're leaving. I've booked you a night flight back home and we have to get to the airport immediately.”
“What!?” Isabella staggered backward.
“I'm sure I didn't stutter. Scarlett sees you as a threat, and I don't want anything that will make her uncomfortable or put a wedge in our new relationship. That is why I booked you the flight.” Adrian explained.
“You're getting rid of me because of her?” She screamed, shock playing across her face. She was astonished. The Adrian she used to know would never do any of this for a woman. He used to be a cold man, which was one of the reasons she cheated on him.
“You can't be serious, Adrian.. you just can't.”
“Do you think I'm making jokes?” He raised a brow at her.
“No.. no, please, Adrian. Please don't do this to me, I'm begging you.” She sniffed, her fake tears returning to her face, but Adrian scoffed.
“Please,” she went closer to him, seeing that he wasn't paying attention to her pleading. She went ahead to place her hand on his chest, slowly caressing him as her voice became soft and seductive.
“Come on, Adrian, don't do this.. just think about it. Think about all you're going to miss out on.” She whispered, taking her hand off him and slowly opening the buttons of her shirt. She revealed her huge boobs to him, biting her lip and then moving her hand to grab his cock.
“Cover up Isabella.” His cold voice came.
“Those don't move me anymore.”
Her face flushed with embarrassment as she quickly took back her hand. She was pissed off. Adrian had never been able to resist her, but he was doing that now because of Scarlett.
Scarlett meant everything to Adrian, he couldn't even imagine sleeping with another woman .
“You're rejecting me because of the piece of shit? She isn't even as pretty as I am!” Isabella raged. Adrian winced, trying to control his anger.
“Don't call her names, Isabella.” He warned.
“Or what? What the fuck is going to happen if I call her names!? You've never rejected me but you're doing that for the first time simply because of that whore! She probably threw herself at you, she even slept with you even though you were engaged to her mother. She's nothing but a whore!”
“Isabella!!” Adrian raised his hand to hit her and she squealed, turning away in fear. He held his hand, breathing heavily to calm his nerves. He did not want to hit a woman.
“I'm going to get your bags. We're leaving for the airport now.” He said through gritted teeth and walked into the room.
He gathered a few of her things and dragged her luggage out but by the time he got back into the living room, she was gone.
Isabella had no other choice but to run. She didn't want to be sent back home, not before completing her mission. She left the apartment and ran into the streets, looking for where to spend the night so that she would miss the flight.
She was crossing the road in a haste when she almost got run over by a car. Luckily, the driver was quick enough to use his brakes and got out of the car to scold her.
“Are you blind!? You could have been killed! You…” he paused when he recognized her face.
“Isabella?”
Isabella lifted her eyes to see who it was and she was equally surprised to see him, but also thankful.
“Joey?” She smiled, recognizing him as Adrian's best friend.
“What are you doing running across the road like that?” He asked and she immediately started sobbing.
“It's Adrian! He has gone mad! Please help me.”
“What did he do?”
“Adrian wants to kill me! He wants to kill me! Please don't let him get to me, please let me come with you.” She pleaded, now shedding heavy tears.
“Alright, get in the car.” Joey agreed and she ran into the car. Joey shook his head before joining her. He knew that Adrian would never do what she was accusing him of but decided to help her anyway.
Soon, they got to his house and he had a long conversation with his wife who was skeptical about letting a stranger into their house. Joey managed to convince her that he has known Isabella for a really long time and she won't be in any trouble. His wife agreed but on the condition that she would only be staying for that night and leave the next day.
After Joey took Isabella to the guest room, he went outside to call Adrian in order to find out what really happened.
“That woman is crazy. Is she there with you?” Adrian asked after Joey explained everything to him.
“She's not here, she's in the room.”
“Alright. Don't let her know that I know her whereabouts. Keep her there and I'll come get her in the morning.” Adrian instructed and Joey nodded as if he was there with him.
“Yes, of course.”
After they were done talking, Joey went back to the guest room and met Isabella sobbing. He sat next to her and asked her what the problem was.
“Adrian is the only problem I have right now! He chose to marry an old woman over me! He abandoned me to be with her!” She wailed loudly. She didn't want to mention Scarlett's name, this was on purpose because she wanted to know if Joey knew anything helpful.
“I thought you two planned everything together?” Joey asked.
“Well yes, we did plan that he would come here and get what he wants, then he would come back for me.” She lied. The only thing Adrian told her was that he was leaving to fulfill a mission. He never told her what the mission was or that he was coming back for her.
“Then you should relax and do as he says. He's not really getting married because he wants to, he only wants to get revenge and I assume you know that already.” Joey shrugged.
“The Davenport family don't even know about his status.” He added and Isabella's eyes widened.
“Oh.. don't they?”
