“Scarlett, I really don't know what came over me,” Ethan stated, following Scarlett into the house but she didn't say anything to him until she got to the living room and settled on the couch.
“I was drunk and acted stupid, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.” He continued. She stared at him, not knowing exactly what to say to him. At one point, she blamed her mother and not him, she was the one who drove him to the point of being drunk to stupor by using him and throwing him away. Well, he should have expected it.
“Please forgive me, Scarlett.” He repeated and she opened her mouth to speak when her phone started to ring. She pulled her phone out of her purse and saw that Nelly was the one calling. She answered the call and placed the phone on her right ear.
“Hi, Nelly.”
“Is it true!?” Nelly sounded excited.
“Is what true?” Scarlett questioned, a little confused.
“That you slept with Ethan?”
Scarlett raised her eyes to look at Ethan who was still standing there, looking all sober and sorry for himself.
“Where did that come from?” She questioned.
“I heard Ethan talking about it with his friends during the weekend and he was bragging about how mercilessly he fucked you and how you couldn't even resist him! The news is everywhere! According to them, Ethan made a bet to sleep with you within three months and he achieved it.” Nelly explained and Scarlett let out a sigh.
“I thought you guys weren't dating,” Nelly added.
“Nelly, I'll call you later.” Scarlett hung up and glared at Ethan.
“Really? Did you make a bet with your friends to sleep with me? Is that you approached me in the first place?” She questioned and his heart missed a beat. He scratched his head in confusion, searching for the right words to say in his defense.
“I.. I.. um..” he stuttered. Scarlett rolled her eyes and asked him to leave.
“Please just hear me out first.” Ethan pleaded.
“Fucking get out of my house Ethan! I will not repeat it!” She yelled at him and he sauntered out without another word.
Scarlett released a long sigh and fell back onto the sofa. She wasn't in the least bothered about the rumors spreading about her because this wasn't the first time such a thing had happened.

“Mom, why on earth would you sign such a careless contract with NorthWind Co? You even approved such a huge amount of money for such a contract!” Scarlett raged, her eyebrows furrowed.
“NorthWind Co? NorthWind Co… I don't remember signing any contract with them,” Vivian mumbled, confused.
“I need you to contact the financial department and tell them not to approve the money for that contract. If that money gets approved, I will make you step down from your position and Uncle Richard will take over.” Scarlett warned and Vivian gasped.

Scarlett hung up immediately and dropped her phone on the table. She was really upset about her mother's carelessness. Her father's business was very important to her and she couldn't watch it fall to ruin over some silly mistake her mother made. She was very serious about replacing her mother with her uncle if her mother didn't fix what she did.
Meanwhile, Vivian, who was back at the mansion, waiting for Adrian, dropped her phone on the bed, frustrated. She couldn't believe what Scarlett had just told her but she still needed to confirm if what she was saying was the truth.
She opened her laptop to check the reports only to find out that Scarlett was telling the truth. She quickly called her secretary to ask her when and how her signature was on such a document.
“You signed it two weeks ago ma'am, that night that Maxwell called you to come to the office.” The secretary replied and Vivian's eyes widened.
“Thank you.” She hung up and began to think. That day was the same day that she saw her nude pictures in those documents. But it was Maxwell who submitted those files, could it be that Maxwell knew about rod2020? She was baffled.
Remembering what Scarlett told her earlier, she immediately sent a message to the financial department, telling them not to approve the funding for the contract.
Afterwards, she called Adrian again but he didn't answer her calls. This was becoming extremely usual and she didn't like it one bit. She was bittered and was about to complain in this voicemail when one of the maids appeared in front of her.
“Ma'am, Adrian is waiting for you downstairs.” The maid informed and Vivian's anger vanished all of a sudden.
“Send him in.” She smiled and the maid left.
Adrian walked in a few minutes later and Vivian didn't waste any time before jumping on him and kissing him all over his face. She locked the door quickly to avoid any interruptions and resumed kissing him hungrily.
