Once Upon a Night With My Stepdad

035

Ch. 35 / 85 Dec 06, 2025

Vivian's eyes widened, she stared at the detective as he had suddenly grown two heads. The shock on her face soon turned into anger as her eyebrows furrowed and her lips curved downwards. She peered at the detective through the roof of her eyes and let out a huff.

“Look detective, I didn't kill my husband. I have no hand in his death and I don't know how many times I'm going to have to tell you this!”

“Oh really?” Detective Roberts let out a short chuckle and brought out some documents, presenting them before Vivian who seemed uninterested.

“Do you know what these are?” He questioned but she rolled her eyes.

“How on earth am I supposed to know?” She asked with a smirk dancing on her lips.

“This is your card history, showing that you bought those drugs. These were submitted to us recently and we checked them all. What do you have to say about that? Isn't it obvious that you've been caught?” Detective Roberts fired, feeling excited that he had something against her after such a long time.

“Whoever sent you these papers is obviously trying to frame me for what I didn't do.” Vivian defended.

“I agree that I might be an annoying wife and even a cheat. But one thing I can't imagine doing is killing my husband.” She added, flinging back her hair.

Detective Roberts, unwilling to back down, opened his laptop and turned it towards Vivian. He played a video, asking her to watch. It was a video of her giving her sick husband some drugs to take. Seeing that video gave Vivian goosebumps because she saw her husband's face after so many years. She couldn't watch any longer and just turned to the detective, chuckling.

“This is your evidence? If this video is what you think you have against me then I'm sorry detective but you don't know how to do your job.” She stated and Detective Roberts folded his palms into fists, holding himself back from lashing out at her. What right did she have to talk to him that way?

“Yes, I was giving him drugs but those were his vitamins. You should check the date on this video and also check my card history. Since you don't know how to do your job, allow me to teach you.” She snapped and rolled her eyes heavily.

“I know how to do my job, Mrs Davenport.” He said through gritted teeth but Vivian didn't give a fuck.

“If you knew how to do your job as you claim, then you would have easily discovered that he sent me to get those vitamins from the pharmacist. It was prescribed by the doctor and the text from him is still in my old phone.” Vivian explained further, weakening the detective who thought he was actually on to something now.

“In that case, I'll need you to get your old phone. I need to confirm what you've just said.”

“Fine, but can you just catch the killer and wrap up this case already? All you do is embarass me and I'm sick of it already.” She fired.

“What I'm doing is a little thing called investigation and if you choose to see it as an embarrassment, then that's your problem.” Detective Roberts retorted and Vivian rolled her eyes again.

She couldn't understand why the detective held her responsible for her husband's death. She understood that her husband and the detective were close friends and he knew about her sexual escapades outside her marriage. Vivian assumed that Detective Roberts blamed her because he thought she needed her husband out of the way to continue sleeping around.

“I'll take my leave now.” She turned to leave but stopped and took another look at him.

“I'll have my assistant send you the old phone for your evidence.” She told him and left the station.

Her driver was waiting outside for her so she got into the car and told him to drive back to the hotel. On her way to the hotel, she got a phone call and it was from Maxwell. She answered the call after releasing a sigh. Getting work-related calls when she was horny was one of the things she hated the most.

“Yes, Maxwell?” She reluctantly spoke into the phone.

“Are you available right now? There are some documents that need your signature at the office.” He informed her and she sighed, rubbing her eyes.

“Yeah, I'll be there soon.” She hung up and instructed the driver to take her to the office instead of the hotel. The driver turned the car around, heading towards the office.

All through the drive to the office, Vivian couldn't stop thinking about Ethan and how amazing he was in bed. The way his strong arms handled her and how his giant cock filled her up nicely. She had told him to come back by 8 pm but she wasn't sure if she would be back on time to have him again.

She got to the office and met Rachel, her assistant, standing by the main entrance. Rachel welcomed her and led her to her office.

“Where's Maxwell?” Vivian questioned.

“He left after handing me the documents,” Rachel replied. Vivian sat down behind her desk and searched her drawers for a pen.

“What's this about? The document.”

“It's about a deal we're signing with one of our business partners,” Rachel answered sharply. Vivian nodded and opened the file. She began to flip through the pages until she came across a particular page. A loud gasp escaped from her lips, making Rachel jerk.

“Is everything okay?” Rachel expressed concern.

“Uh.. yes, yes. I'm fine.” She cleared her throat and tried to maintain composure.

Vivian stared at the photo of her and Rod in bed, with his cock buried inside her and her holding his arms with pleasure evident on her face. Her hands and feet got cold, and her heart sank into her stomach. She quickly closed the document and swallowed the lump in her throat, bands of sweat running down her face.

“Rachel?”

“Yes ma'am.”

“Did anyone come into the office after you dropped these documents?” She asked but Rachel shook her head.

“No ma'am. As a matter of fact, we're the only ones in the whole building.” She answered.

A call came into her phone, startling her. She gulped and slowly picked up the phone. Her fear was heightened when she saw who the caller was. It was Rod.

“I’m sure you got my message. I need more money in cash in the next twenty-four hours. If I don't get it, there will be dire consequences.” He threatened and hung up before Vivian got the chance to yell at him.

“I thought he had finally left me alone.” She muttered to herself, getting worried.

Without reading the documents, she signed them all and rushed out of the office, trembling. She was confused and didn't know how to get rid of this blackmailer for good. She got into the car, her hands still shaking as she had found herself in a trap.

“What on earth should I do? I can't keep giving that thug money! I'm going to go bankrupt.” She scratched her head, tirelessly searching for an answer.

“Should I take this matter to the police?” She rhetorically asked and then Detective Roberts came to her mind. She thought that it was the best option and immediately called him.

“Hello? Detective?”

“Yes, Mrs Davenport?”

“I want to see you, I'm in so much trouble right now and only you can help me.” She sounded so troubled and the detective could tell.

“Sure, I'm at the station.” She hung up the call after the detective's response.

“Driver, take me back to the station immediately.”
