Third Person's POV
"Mirabel, I have to ask, these two men, you didn't hire them, did you?" the assistant asked nervously.
Mirabel's face froze for a second, and she turned her head to glare at the assistant fiercely. "Don't talk nonsense. This has nothing to do with me!"
The assistant shrank back, quickly forcing a smile. "Good, I'm glad it's not related. Mirabel, I wonder who Sunny offended this time. It seems like there are quite a few people who want to get back at her."
Mirabel narrowed her eyes, clenching her fists in anger. She thought to herself that since Sunny had escaped this time, she wouldn't be so lucky next time.
In fact, these two thugs were indeed hired by Mirabel.
She had originally planned to grab Sunny, humiliate her thoroughly, and make her feel unclean, so she would be too ashamed to pursue Leo anymore.
But now, things had gone beyond her expectations.
Sunny had good fighting skills and had fought against the two men for a while. Moreover, there was a video that had been exposed. Mirabel feared that handling the aftermath of this incident would be very difficult.
Mirabel had faith in the man she had hired. He had called her to reassure her not to worry, saying that the matter would be quickly suppressed. Moreover, since Sunny was seriously injured this time, she probably wouldn't be able to take on any new roles for the next few months.
Catherine had also seen Sunny's video. That evening, when Blake came home, she talked to him about it.
As soon as the video was exposed, Blake had called Leo to understand what had happened. So, when Catherine asked, Blake explained it to her clearly.
"Terrible!" Catherine's face turned pale when she learned that Sunny had been grabbed by the two men without any defense. She shook her head and said, "I used to think this city was quite peaceful, but now I realize that dangers are everywhere. Fortunately, Sunny had good fighting skills. Otherwise, if she had been dragged into the car by those two men, the consequences would be unimaginable."
Blake nodded and said calmly, "Yes, it seems that girls should learn some self-defense skills."
"Do you want Hedwig to learn?" Catherine asked softly.
"It's not a bad idea. Both Noah and Hedwig can start learning," Blake nodded, having already made up his mind.
"Then I'll talk to the kids about it tomorrow. Patricia has been urging us to give the children more lessons. I just didn't know what to let them learn. They are already very busy with their school studies," Catherine sighed softly. She was still confused about how to educate the children, not knowing how to cultivate their hobbies and interests, and also worried about putting too much pressure on them.
"This society is inherently cruel. Although the children are young, as children of the Royal Pack, they should naturally work harder than others. If you are too soft-hearted, it might not be a good thing," Blake gently held her small hand, his voice taking on a hint of sternness.
"Is that so? If I hadn't let the children follow you, could they still live an ordinary life?" Catherine asked with a smile.
"Do you think ordinary people's lives are free from worries and troubles?" Blake raised an eyebrow.
Catherine had no answer. Indeed, ordinary people's lives are not necessarily safe and happy.
Seeing her at a loss for words, Blake, as usual, bit his lip.
He leaned down and lightly kissed the corner of her mouth, then stroked her long hair, comforting her, "Alright, stop worrying. As parents, we can't be soft-hearted when we need to be strict. We still need to put some pressure on the children."
"Okay, you're right. I'll try to put some pressure on them tomorrow," Catherine smiled and then thought seriously.
When she was raising the children alone, she had positioned herself as a strict mother, often speaking to the children in a commanding tone.
Under her authority, the two little ones didn't dare to be too weak.
But now, since everyone in the Royal Pack doted on the children, the two little ones seemed less afraid of her.
Does being loved by more people make children more spoiled?
Thinking of the way Blake doted on them, Catherine felt that it was really difficult to make the little ones independent.
"What are you daydreaming about again? Tomorrow is our engagement day. Are you happy?" Blake's eyes were full of warmth. Just thinking about the engagement party tomorrow, he felt very satisfied.
Finally, he could announce to everyone that this woman belonged to him and let those men who still had designs on her give up as soon as possible.
Catherine's lips curled up involuntarily. She nodded honestly, "Of course I'm happy. I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight."
"Oh? Do you need some help?" Blake seized the key point in her words and asked in a low voice with a hint of mischief in her ear.
Catherine was a bit speechless, but her face still had a smile. "Sure, I'm just afraid that you'll be too exhausted and won't be able to handle the scene tomorrow."
"Are you questioning me?" Blake was slightly displeased, raised his eyebrows. His finger rested on her small chin. He gently applied force, lifting her head up, and then his thin lips pressed down.
Catherine's mind went blank for a moment. Although he had kissed her countless times, each time felt brand new.
She always felt that it would be great to just keep kissing like this and never part.
