Charlotte is sitting on the porch watching Suzy play around. Her eyes are lifeless. Being unemployed also getting hurt by the person she has been in love with for years is killing her badly. Most of the time, she had a dream that he would be an understanding and good person. But she was wrong. He was nothing but like her parents who never let her explain in the first place.
However, She is fine being with her husband. Who knows how to respect her and give her the attention that she missed from her family?
" What are you thinking about so deeply? Charlotte!"
Edward's soft voice gets her attention. Tilting her head, she smiles faintly, placing her hand on her husband's knees. Edward startles a little, seeing his wife being down and clingy as well.
" Am I a bad girl? Do you think I would hurt someone without any reason?" She mumbles resting her head on his knees. Edward can feel she is worrying about the last incident. It is quite disappointing that Charlotte fell in love with the wrong person.
" I don't think you can hurt even if there has any reason. Are you still thinking about that incident?"
His Big fingers run through her soft hair. The closeness between them has respectively increased. At least they can share their worries and thoughts without any obstacles.
" I know you would be mad but I can't stop thinking about the incident. It makes me feel pathetic!" She confessed.
" It's okay. You will be fine. Shall we have dinner together?" He asks wrapping a strand of hair around his finger. Charlotte can't say No. Spending time with this man makes her feel better. As if she is talking to her other self.
She calls Suzy inside, helping Edward go to the dining room. " But I feel so bored at home. Suzy goes to kindergarten. I have nothing to do all alone!" Her lips curve into a pout.
" Why not join me?"
" Joining you?"
" Yes! You can choose one. Be my assistant or a designer! I would love to see you by my side so Be my assistant. " He grins.
" Then I can give you free design. I know you like my designs!" She said proudly.
" You agreed? I thought you would choose the Fashion design department!" He sounded delightful.
" Of Course, I would choose to be your assistant. Also, I don't want to work on design recently!" Her smile disappeared drastically.
" Why? Didn't you say it's your passion?"
Upon hearing his question, Charlotte purses her lips. She places the plate and helps Suzy sit down on the chair.
" I want to take a little break from this. " She replies flatly. Edward can understand. But he didn't say something more, just nods in response.
" Mamma! I want to eat meatballs!"
" Sure! Baby!" she kisses her eyes which causes Suzy to giggle with shyness.
" Then Come with me tomorrow. I will instruct your work!" He added.
" Please! Take care of me, Mr. Boss!" She giggles.
" With Pleasure! Mrs Boss!"
Charlotte's face heats up. The Man has changed since that incident. Not only that, His words are now soft and warm, he smiles, and he sounds so trustworthy and close. Somehow, She can't help depending on him.
Next day.
Charlotte dressed up nicely. Holding her favorite purse, she walks out with quick steps.." I am sorry for being late. "
She apologizes to her husband who is already waiting for her in the car.
" Take your time. "
" It's not okay. I don't want to make you late. But Thank you!" She smiles brightly tucking her seat belt.
" You are looking gorgeous! Did you use perfume as well?" He complimented with a plain voice not being so obvious.
" You can tell. Yeah. I changed my cologne. It's Jasmine. Isn't it nice?" She holds her wrist in front of him.
" Yeah! That's nice. Refreshing.!"
" I know! It's my favorite now."
Edward's eyes go to Charlotte who is still inhaling her favorite perfume. He wonders how their relationship turns out. She doesn't feel awkward or shy like before. To be honest. He feels like they are like close friends than a married couple.
" Mr. Rodriguez!" She waves her hand in front of his eyes.
" Yes? Anything wrong?" He sits straightly. Did she notice he has been staring at her?
" You are dozing off. Are you tired already?"
" No. Just wondering. " He looks away. When she tilts her head with confusion, she looks damn adorable that he wants to squeeze her plumpy cheeks.
" Don't doze. You may have wrinkles!" she laughs mischievously.
" I am not that old to get wrinkles!" He shrugs.
" I found a grey hair today on my head!"
" Really? So?"
" I am Old enough to get grey hair. You're my husband. Of course, you will get wrinkles. An old man"
" Huh!!!!" He reacts funnily enough to make Charlotte and the driver laugh.
" Mrs Rodriguez! Aren't you being a naughty girl?" He rested his head on his fist watching his wife's playful nature which is a new one to be discovered by him.
" You don't know. Not everyone can handle me. Hehe~" She flips her hair behind with a proud shrug.
" Really? How many people know about your this real self?"
Although he asked casually, Charlotte's smiles disappear within a blink. She bites her bottom lip avoiding his gaze.
" What's wrong?"
" Nothing!" She fakes a smile.
" Charlotte! I want to know you better. So stop carrying your pain inside. Let it out. I will try my best to make our future better"
Why is this man becoming so sweet? Does he trust her and respect her to hear her bitter life? But She is sure, He is the only part of her life who makes her feel better and she can find herself around.
" Actually! Not only my family hate me but also everyone I have been with. My friends, My seniors or Juniors. Sometimes my colleagues. I wonder why.? Maybe you will hate me soon. After all, I can be burdensome sometimes because of my wild nature. "
Wild nature? Edward can't think of her being wild. She looked calm and quiet person but now she is trying to open up herself. It doesn't count as wild.
" Can you try to be like that? I want to see your true self. I am fine with you being wild."
' Ba-dump ' The heartbeat sounded a little louder than usual. Why is his voice getting appealing recently? But Her heart skips a beat when he said that in a deep voice. Really? Can she be free in front of him? What if he also hates her?
" Don't regret it later!" She said seriously.
" If I regret I will make you my Boss for one week!" He smirked.
" Hell! No. You are trying to make me work! I will decide what punishment I should do!" She grins evilly.
" Looking forward!" He responds with a smile.
