" Oh! You two are here." Shayne approaches Edward and Charlotte who are deciding what they should have for lunch.
Charlotte smiles brightly seeing Shayne coming to them. She stands up, holding a welcome smile on her face.." Sis.."
" Don't call me Sis! Naughty girl. You did check my message.." Shayne playfully flicks her forehead while glancing at Edward whose entire attention is on the menu. " Can I have a hug? My Baby sister," she exclaimed the happiness while extending her hands.
Charlotte instantly hugs her, gasping in happiness. The shifting happiness of finding her real family erupts in her heart.
" Edward! Shayne is really my sister." She grins turning towards Edward. Edward smiles like he already knows about that.
" What? You aren't surprised?" she pouts unintentionally. Her forehead accepted two creases of sadness.
" I told him about it in the morning. It's you who is late to check your phone. Don't be upset with him now. Anyway, Can I join you two? I am bored of having a meal all alone.." Shayne grunts with disappointment. However, her face lits up soon when Charlotte nods.
" Sure. Please sit down.."
" No!" Edward refuses.
" Why? She is my sister now. I want to have lunch with her too " Charlotte shoots a glare at Edward who is indifferent..
" C'mon! Edward! Stop being cold to me. I will pay for it. So let me have lunch with my sister at least!"
Edward rolls his eyes and shrugs. He doesn't want Charlotte once again getting upset with him.
The entire mealtime, Charlotte talked to Shayne and Edward was like an air. That's why he hates it when people join them to have lunch. He planned on spending time alone with Charlotte but Shayne interrupted.
However, he is silently listening to their conversation which isn't avoidable. He places the fork aside, looking at them.
" All of our properties are under your name, Charlotte. You need to help us. Grandpa and Grandma have been staying in that nursing home and their health isn't good enough.
" Under my name? Why?" Charlotte asked as she looked surprised. Shayne is supposed to be the one or her parents. Why would she be the owner of Milestone's property?
" I don't have any idea. Maybe before the accident happened, Dad's friends had taken the property under your name so that they wouldn't be suspected. They have planned overall to kill us. " Shayne tries to explain briefly.
Charlotte thinks something before speaking up. She doesn't want to see her parent's murderer living a peaceful life. No wonder she never got the love that she deserved. She always thought about how biological parents can neglect their children. But She was wrong. She wasn't their child but they were her parent's murderer.
" What can I do? I don't want them to live happily when my family is suffering." Charlotte sounds determined. She won't let it go.
" Edward can help us. Can't you?" Shayne looks at Edward who is silently listening to them. However, he straightens his back and looks at Charlotte who is staring at him as well.
" Do you want me to help you?"
" I do.." Charlotte honestly answers. She doesn't know how she should start taking revenge. Also, she needs evidence and proof of her parent's death. Since Edward is smart. She wants him to help her. After all, she can only rely on him, Edward.
" I will think about it.." Edward replies plainly which makes Shayne frown.
" My sister wants you to help her. You said to think about it. That's rude."
.He gulps the water down without caring about it. But when he looks at Charlotte whose face is showing sadness. He couldn't help sighing.
" Shall we go home?" his hand reaches for her hand and firmly squeezes. Charlotte wanted to draw her hand back but she stopped doing this.
" OK! Sister, I will let you know when I am ready. You take care of our grandparents.." She said collecting her belongings. Shayne nods in agreement..
Charlotte sits in the driver's seat after helping him to hop in. Her face is calm and relaxed. Edward smiles seeing she is not upset about it.
" About earlier. I don't want you to be involved with this matter," she speaks as if she has changed her mind. Edward looks stunned, she just said she does want him to help her.
" Why? Am I not qualified?"
" You are. But I don't want to involve you in this matter. My family can be dangerous too. What if they hurt you.." She explained. But Charlotte raises one of her eyebrows when he chuckles.
" What's so funny?"
" Nothing. I am glad you are worrying about me. But I want you to think properly before taking action. Don't directly get involved.."
" Is this why you told me that you would think about it?"
Edward nods.
After reaching home,
They have just entered the hall room when Andrew yells at Suzy.." I am telling you if you eat more Ice cream. I won't take you to the amusement park."
Suzy has been spending most of her time with Andrew. Andrew took a few days off from his acting. And spending time with Suzy as much as possible.
" But Papa! Suzy likes Ice cream.." Her cute lips curve into a pout, hiding her ice cream behind her back.
" Yet.."
" What's going on?" Edward approaches them after seeing the father and daughter arguing. He has been spoiling Suzy so much that she can't live with ice cream every day.
" Dadda! Papa doesn't want Suzy to have Ice cream. He doesn't like me!" complaining, she jumps on Edward. Andrew sighs but he smiles seeing Charlotte walking in a quiet step.
" I have something to talk about. Can I have a moment?" Andrew said blushing quite visibly. Charlotte wanted to reply but..
" Talk about what?" Edward immediately turned towards them.
" It's private. Brother!"
" No private talk with my wife. Say whatever you want to say, right here in front of me!"
" I am not taking your wife away. Stop being so jealous man." He feels annoyed now. Edward is way too much possessive. All of those days, he is here, He can't talk to Charlotte because of this brother of his.
" OK. Whatever. Sister-in-law! I can't get a single appointment with your best friend. Help me." He holds her hands, wailing and weeping. Edward who is behind Andrew, kicks his leg..
" You are too close. Don't touch her."
" Sigh!! Are you two Done? Edward is really childish!" Charlotte is done with this pair of brothers. Seriously, They can't stay silent for a single second.." And, I will invite her here for Suzy's 5th birthday. You can meet her that time."
" Suzy's birthday? I have forgotten about it." Andrew exclaimed feeling guilty inside..
" You don't even remember when her birthday is. brat. This time you will hold the party." Edward rolls his eyes and speaks. Andrew always wanted to avoid his daughter and never attended her birthday party.
" Fine. I will hold a grand party and announce my daughter's existence in the world!"
" You better be.."
