The nurses had just gotten Katia situated back in the bed when the two big handsome wolves from her old pack came through the door. Katia giggled to Aza at how the two nurses were suddenly all flustered by the men in there now. The two men rushed to her bedside, bending down and gathering her into a hug sandwich. She started laughing in that horse way of hers and Kelp asked, “What’s so funny?”
She linked him, “I was thinking we were like a sandwich with that hug and then I thought you two are the peanut butter to my jelly.”
Mark laughed, “Little ghost, we are really going to have to teach you better analogies. I almost fell over when you told the Alpha his hair looked like dirt.”
Kelp harumphed with, “Yeah and his eyes look like an armadillo belly.”
Katia looked so wide-eyed and confused, “What? Those are naturally beautiful things. I would be honored to be described like that.”
Mark said, “Oh, would you like to have your skin described as sun-kissed leather?”
“Yes, I would. That means it is all warm and reddish-brown honey colored. Such a natural beauty.” She quipped.
“The best part is when the Alpha just glared at everyone and said, “Thank you” in that deep voice of his.” Kelp continued laughing. “I thought he was going to add a pretty little lady at the end of that thank you.”
“You two are horrible!” Katia retorted. “I missed you two though. It is hard to communicate over a link with anyone that I am not blood bound to and I cannot spare the energy right now.”
Kelp sat down next to her bed, “We know. Our wolfie girl and you need all your energy to heal. We are so sorry little ghost. We never dreamed Alpha Lorn would be your fated mate and then reject you before finding out who you were.”
Katia smiled sadly, “It’s not your fault but that fucking hurt like hell. I would rather have my throat ripped out again.” She looked at them, “I am sorry for what I put you two and the pack through. Killing myself was the only option and Aza was in full agreement. We just could not take it anymore. We wanted peace and no more pain.”
Mark sat in the other chair on the other side of the bed, “Yet here you are back with us, thank goddess.” Taking my hand, he held it like he was afraid to let go. “Why did you come back? You had found your peace, I assume. Did you miss us that much?”
With a small grimace little ghost answered the only way she knew the truth. “I wish I could say yes, that was what brought me back to you, but at first Wolfie and I missed nothing of this life. We were finally completely pain free and at peace. We were two separate entities. She was a wolf, and I was her person. I could touch her silky fur and pet her sweet ears. She could lick me and lay her head on my lap. We just enjoyed the quiet for a while.” Just thinking about the time, she and Wolfie spent in the dark with the quiet bringing that peaceful feeling back to us. It is so relaxing and tranquil that it is almost like they are back there again. Is something Selene imparted to them as they returned to this realm? One of her ways of helping them to cope with what they have dealt with and what may come? Realizing she had become lost in thought and had stopped explaining to Mark and Kelp, she continued. “Then we heard someone singing. It was the most beautiful voice you could imagine. We decided to follow the voice and see where it leads to. The peace and quiet never left us and we did not feel any reason to be cautious.”
Kelp sighed, “Even in death you go forging forwards into the unknown not knowing what dangers may lie ahead because you feel at peace. What are we going to do with you?”
“I can’t explain it Kelp, I just felt as if we were home. And you will never guess what or who the voice belongs to.” Katia clapped her hands together in excitement. The two men just waited for her to tell them although they both had a feeling; they knew who it was. Their Alpha Luna did not make them wait long, “It was the moon goddess and guess what? She is my twin sister.”
Both men exhaled a “No way! You are the moon goddess’ twin sister?”
She giggled back through the link, “Yep I sure am.” Excitedly telling them, “We look exactly alike except she has long white hair and is curvier than I. We are both tiny, so I think that the doctor may be a little wrong about me being so small because of the malnutrition throughout my life. But don’t tell him, okay? I don’t want to hurt his feelings and he’ll probably figure it out when Selene comes to visit me here.”
“Katia, you’re rambling again”, Mark said. Katia realizes they are wanting more information and gets back to her visit to the other realm. “Oh, and you know how Selene is a goddess? Well, you won’t believe it, so am I!”
Once again, the two men spoke in unison. “No way!” They looked at one another and smiled because honestly, they have never heard their little ghost giggle so much. They just wished they could hear her voice and not just heat it in their heads through the link.
Continue her giggles while she shakes her head. Yes, she goes on, “I also have powers similar to my sister’s, but I have a feeling we are going to have a bigger audience soon and I will wait to explain that to everyone, so I do not have to repeat it. Selene has explained everything to me, and I will explain everything to you. I think we need to invite the Snow Moon ranking wolves back in and figure out how I am communicating with them. They are going to need to hear my story and decide what they want to do.”
Mark asks, “How do you want to go about communicating? You link with us and we can speak to you. That is the easiest way. Opening a mind link with just a few ranking wolves will deplete what little energy and strength you have built up. You need to keep building that up and healing. Aza needs it too. Although she seems to be a very happy girl right now, according to Kelp.”
Katia gave the toothiest smile they had ever seen when saying, “that’s because she has discovered she has a dirty mind and loves driving me crazy with it. Plus, she is preening because she is a goddess and thinks everyone should treat her accordingly.”
They all laugh and then Katia blurts out, “Oh yeah, and I met my parents. They are titans. Can you believe that my parents are real live titans!”
The Alpha and Gamma came walking into the room then. The gamma stopped dead in his tracks and asked, “Did I just hear you say that your parents are titans?”
Katia just stared back at him with big dark purple eyes and said, “Hello cousin.”
