After the meal, David stretched out his legs on the bed, intently reading a magazine. Ella sat next to her, peeling apples. Sometimes, she looked up at David's face. In this world, there are many beautiful men, but beautiful, dignified, gentlemen like David, are hard to find.
Is it because he looks so beautiful because he comes from a rich family, so God arranged for him to suffer so much? He was seriously injured twice because of her. Once shot, once in a traffic accident. But pass every time.
Lost in thought, Ella cut her arm. A small drop of blood flowed from the tip of her finger. Ella groaned softly. The sound is very low, but David can still hear it. He dropped the magazine on the bed, panicked, and grabbed Ella's hand. "Are you okay? You're bleeding."
David gently lifted her slender hand and sucked in his blood-soaked little finger in front of her confused eyes.
"David..."
David didn't respond to her words, he sucked on Ella's finger until it softened and then slowly let go. His brows furrowed with a slight reproach.
"Are you in pain? You're so clumsy."
Ella pursed her lips. "Just a little." She didn't tell him that because of thinking about him, she got hurt.
David gently applied the medicine to Ella's finger. The pain in her fingertips brought tears to her eyes. Ella tried not to cry. David's gentle, caring gesture made her forget the pain.
"Why aren't you focused? Are you thinking about me?"
Ella was startled by David's words. 'How does he know I'm thinking about him?' Ella was a little embarrassed, she avoided his gaze. "No."
Ella's expression made David understand that his guess was correct. "You're thinking of me."
She was about to get up from her seat when David's great strength pulled her back, her whole body lying on top of him.
David's large hand reached out, cupped the nape of her neck, pressed her head against his lap, and kissed her forcefully.
Ella was afraid that she was on top of David's wound, so she looked up. "Careful, you haven't recovered yet."
David smiled and said. "I'm fine." And just like that, he continued to kiss her.
When Ella opened the door of the ward, she saw David get out of bed, he changed his patient clothes into a suit.
"It's time for me to leave the hospital," David said while looking at Ella.
Ella walked up to David, helped him get dressed, and asked. "Are you well? Do you still have pain anywhere?"
"I've been lying here for months and being well taken care of by you, so I'm fine. Don't worry. Plus, I don't like the smell of hospital disinfectants. It makes me uncomfortable." David said softly, he stroked her face.
"After you leave the hospital, stay home and rest for a few more days. Don't rush to work, okay?" Ella said.
"Okay. I'll listen to you." David held her in his arms.
Ella looked up. "Tomorrow I will go to the supermarket with my mother. We will cook a delicious dinner for you to nourish. After eating, you will surely be strong enough to fight Raymon."
David lifted her chin. "As long as you are by my side, I will have more strength and motivation to fight. You are my 'spirit food'."
Ella repeated the question. "Are you well?"
"If you don't believe I'm fine, then give it a try." David teased.
Ella was both embarrassed and angry. "I am serious."
David stroked her lips lightly and kissed her lips for a moment, then spoke seriously. "Ella, I'm fine. Thank you for taking care of me all this time."
Ella bit her lip, hesitated for a moment, and asked again. "Are you okay?"
David brushed the hair from her forehead, smiled, and nodded.
Ella continued thinking, taking a deep breath, and she made a decision. "Okay. I'll go to the hospital to discharge you and call Key to pick you up."
David smiled softly, his hand on the back of her neck, and kissed her lightly on the forehead, saying. "OK."
David let go of Ella. She opened the door and walked out of the room.
At the 12 shopping center of X city, a black Lexus car stopped in front of the gate, a luxurious elderly woman wearing a pink and white velvet dress, her hand carrying a small Dior brand handbag, radiant face. Walking beside her was a young woman wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, and a jacket over it, her beautiful face radiant. They entered a fashion store, the female employee bowed to them. "Welcome."
Mrs. Emma took off her dark glasses, looked around, and then turned to speak to the female employee opposite. "Get all the latest models from the store for my daughter-in-law to try on."
Before Ella could react, several staff members dragged her into the fitting room. They changed her clothes one after another, and she gasped because she had never had to try on so many clothes before. Even if she refused, they still forced her to try it on.
When she heard the voice of a female employee saying that this was the last outfit, Ella breathed a sigh of relief, she had just walked out of the fitting room when she heard her mother-in-law speak. "Okay, pack it all up for me."
Ella stops her. "They are many, I only took a few clothes."
"No, you have to take them all." The mother-in-law shook Ella's hand and turned to speak to the staff. "You pack them up, and put them in the car for me."
"Yes." said the salesman.
Mrs. Emma and Ella continued to go around the mall, buying a lot of necessary items including shoes, hats, jewelry, bags, cosmetics... Mrs. Emma wants to make up for Ella for the past mistakes she made with her daughter-in-law.
Although Ella tries to stop Mrs. Emma, her mother-in-law still fully prepares everything for her daughter-in-law. All eyes of admiration turned to Ella. Never before has Ella gone shopping so tired as today.
Next, they went to the food court to buy ingredients for dinner, and to welcome David out of the hospital. After payment, Mrs. Emma and Ella meet another elderly woman who also looks elegant and aristocratic. This woman's age is almost the same as Mrs. Emma's.
She stepped closer to Mrs. Emma and said. "Hello, long time no see." She looked at Ella, smiling mockingly. "This is your daughter-in-law, right? Her face isn't bad either. I read the newspaper and saw that the daughter-in-law of the Anthony family married for money."
Ella bowed her head, this scandal is not over yet. The public still speaks and criticizes her.
Mrs. Emma supports and takes her side. "My daughter-in-law is the best woman I have ever met. This scandal is just a misunderstanding, someone intentionally wants to destroy my daughter-in-law's honor. Do you have another idea?"
The woman smiled wryly, shook her head, and left.
For the first time, Ella was supported and cared for by her mother-in-law. She feels very happy.
