Araceli POV
Early the next morning, I went to Eclipse Group.
The employees were talking.
"I heard that Navi Group signed a contract with Melany!"
"I told you Navi Group wouldn't work with Araceli! She's just bragging."
I walked into Eclipse Group's building. Many people looked at me mockingly and snickered.
"Araceli is going to get the hell out of here!"
I ignored them and walked into the elevator and up to the conference room on the top floor.
Benjamin sneered, "Ms. Chancey, Navi Group has partnered with Melany. You are not eligible to attend the shareholders' meeting in the future. Hand over your shares and get out!"
Zackary walked over and said coldly, "Don't be so shameless! Why do you come here? Get out!"
"Dad, Araceli was just kidding last time." Melany advised, "Araceli holds shares in our company. I can arrange a position for her in the marketing department. What do you think, Araceli?"
Melany's voice was gentle.
"I don't agree!"
Benjamin said loudly, almost yelling, as he raised his volume.
Melany glanced at me and smiled.
I didn't care what they said, walked into the conference room and sat down.
"Are you guys done yet?"
Everyone froze.
Zackary said, annoyed, "I said get out! Are you deaf?"
I laughed, "Mr. Chancey, don't you want to know if Navi Group is working with Melany or not?"
I looked around at everyone in the room, then tapped on my phone and played a recording.
"Mr. Collett, if you work with Eclipse Group, I can give you everything you want..."
Melany's voice rang out.
I raised my eyes, and Melany stood in the doorway of the meeting, confused.
Her face blushed.
Benjamin slapped the table. "Ms. Chancey, where did you get this recording?"
I raised an eyebrow at Melany. Everyone stared at Melany.
Melany bit her lower lip, her face full of disbelief.
She took a deep breath and said slowly, "Araceli, you're crazy! You faked this recording in order to slander me! Why would you do that? I spoke with the head of Navi Group yesterday at our office! I can get the front desk staff to prove it for me! Why did you do this to insult me?"
She said, and burst into tears, her voice laced with sobs and looking weak.
I got up, and my voice turned sharp. "You're the one who's crazy! Melany, you tried to seduce the head of Navi Group to get this partnership, right? Do you think I don't know anything?"
Melany yelled, "Araceli, I already gave the contract to Dad! No matter how much you insult me, you can't change the fact that Navi Group has already cooperated with me! My assistant went to a dinner party with me last night and didn't even meet Mr. Collett! My assistant can prove it!"
Melany said with conviction, and she was crying the whole time.
Everyone in the room believed her, and some sympathized with her, and immediately sided with her.
"Ms. Chancey, please don't slander Melany."
"Melany would never do such a dirty thing. She is the heir of Eclipse Group!"
Instantly, everyone decided that I had faked the recording in order to insult Melany.
I didn't panic and smiled, "Melany, you just said that you were at a dinner party with your assistant last night, right?"
Melany lifted her chin. "Yes."
"Would you look at this?"
I pulled out my phone and tapped on a photo. "This is what Mr. Collett tweeted last night. If I'm not mistaken, this woman in the photo is you, right? You were having dinner with him then, not at a dinner party. You're lying!"
Melany's expression changed dramatically. She immediately tried to come over and grab my phone.
I turned slightly sideways, dodging her and heading for my computer. My fingers hit the keyboard a few times, and the picture appeared on the big screen.
"Could Mr. Collett's tweet be fake too?" I sneered, "Melany, I could have called Mr. Collett on the spot and figured all this out. Do you want me to do that?"
Gavin Collett was the CEO of Navi Group in New York, and a man that countless high society people in New York wanted to befriend.
Everyone looked at each other, knowing that the evidence was now overwhelming and that Melany was lying.
Everyone in the conference room looked at Melany.
"Melany, how can you do such a nasty thing? It's disgusting!"
Melany let out a long breath and said, "I didn't! This was my assistant's idea, and it has nothing to do with me!"
That explanation didn't make any sense.
"Wait a minute... Mr. Collett signed the contract! He signed the contract with me, not with Araceli!" Melany shouted.
What she meant was that as long as the person who signed the cooperation contract with Navi Group was not me, I could not attend the shareholders' meeting.
I sneered and pulled out a stack of papers.
"Are you talking about this letter of intent to cooperate, Ms. Chancey?"
I threw the document on the table. melany rushed over and picked it up.
"What? The letter of intent to cooperate? Last night..."
She didn't dare to say more. Her legs went weak, and she sat down on the floor.
Her eyes were dull.
The letter of intent to cooperate was not a contract, but just an offer.
I sneered, glanced at Melany, and walked towards the computer.
"Everyone, this is my electronic contract and project information with Navi Group. Now do you guys still want to kick me out?"
The official contract, already stamped, and my signature were clearly displayed on the screen.
"No!"
Melany sat down on the floor in distress and screamed, "How could Navi Group sign a contract with you? You're lying!"
"Melany, why don't you want to believe it?"
At that moment, the door of the conference room was pushed open, and Sharon handed everyone a copy of the printed documents.
I said in a cold voice, "This is the internal information of Navi Group for this project. Melany, what else do you want to say now?"
Melany's face was pale. She bit her lips to death and trembled.
"It's you! You set me up!"
Melany's eyes widened.
I shook my head. "You were wrong, Melany. You were wrong from the beginning. I'm not setting you up, I'm exposing you."
Benjamin pondered for a moment and said, "Ms. Araceli, since you signed a contract with Navi Group, from now on, you are the manager of the marketing department."
