Chapter 69

Ch. 69 / 119 Feb 24, 2026

Araceli POV

Listening to Yoselin's inquiry, I could only be silent.

Melany killed my two children, so I have never been able to live in harmony with Melany in my life.

I opened my lips and whispered, "Aunt Yoselin, I met a boy last time. He said he was Melany's..."

"Bang!"

A loud bang suddenly came from the second floor. The window was shattered.

Glass shards splattered everywhere and landed on the lawn of the courtyard from the second floor.

I hurriedly shielded Yoselin's head, frowned, and asked, "What happened?"

Yoselin sighed and said, "Melany smashes things every time she loses her temper. Maybe it's someone who pissed her off again. Araceli, you better not go in there..."

"Yoselin, it's okay. Don't worry. I just have something to ask her."

I stood up and walked over to her, looking up slightly.

That was Melany's room.

I smiled coldly and slowly walked up to the second floor.

Another loud bang came.

Melany smashed the vase in her hand on the floor.

"Dumbass! He's such a dumbass!" Melany shouted angrily, "That bitch... Fuck... Can anyone kill her?"

"Anyway, we got the video..."

Another woman's voice rang out. I guess it was Melany's mother, Carina.

"But that idiot's father was sent to the police! What if he turns me in and says I paid his son to murder the stupid girl? I don't want to go to jail!"

The person who tried to run Essel over was indeed Melany...

What a crazy woman!

I clenched my fists and walked upstairs.

I walked over and pushed the door open.

Melany and Carina turned around and saw me standing in the doorway, arms around my chest, leaning against the door frame.

Melany's eyes snapped wide.

"Araceli? Damn... When did you ... When did you get here? Who gave you permission to come to my house?"

"If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have been able to listen to such an interesting conversation."

I kicked away the shards of glass on the floor and took one step inside.

I stared coldly into Melany's face and said in a cold voice, "Tell me, why did you kill Essel, and why did you pay the driver's father to frame me, and was Essel your daughter?"

Melany stared at me.

"Do I need to answer you for what I did?"

"You had your son stalk me, and then you had someone set me up. Melany, are you that afraid of me?"

I raised my head slightly and looked down at her. "What exactly are you afraid of?"

Melany froze, shock in her eyes.

"When have I ever let my son deal with you?"

I sneered, "Don't pretend in front of me. I know exactly what you want, Melany, and I don't care what you want, but you better be careful. If you piss me off, I'll do anything to get back at you."

I said, turning around and walking away.

Melany rushed over, raised her hand, and tried to grab my hair.

I immediately reacted, turned around, grabbed her hand, and slapped her hard.

Melany immediately froze.

"Are you crazy, Araceli? How dare you slap me? I'll kill you!!!"

She screamed, picking up a piece of the vase on the floor and about to stab me in the neck.

I snorted and turned slightly to the side, and she fell to the ground.

The ground was covered with shards of broken glass. Her arm was instantly cut and many fine wounds appeared. Even her face was cut with a few slashes.

Yoselin stood in the doorway, trembling.

Melany looked like a psychopath at that moment.

I shook my head. I hadn't seen her for five years, and she had become like this.

What a pathetic woman.

I looked at her and said, "Melany, I didn't expect you to be so ruthless as to try to kill your own daughter. You don't deserve to be Essel's mother, much less any man's wife, even though it's been your dream for so many years. You are a complete lunatic. You're insane."

My voice was cold, without a trace of emotion.

I didn't have the slightest pity for her in my heart. When I looked at her, I thought of the fire five years ago, when I was on the ground begging her to save my two children...

Instead of saving them, she killed them...

Melany was a murderer, so she deserved to be punished.

I turned around and walked towards the stairs.

Yoselin took my hand. "Araceli..."

I shook my head and patted the back of her hand.

"Aunt Yoselin, I have to go."

I glanced at Melany and headed downstairs.

Melany's screams came.

"Araceli! You ruined my life and everything I had! It's you! I will kill you. Just wait and see..."

I gritted my teeth and headed out the door.

Sitting in my car, I slumped over the steering wheel and took a deep breath.

Suddenly, the phone vibrated.

I picked up the phone and looked.

It was Essel.

"Ms. Chancey, when are you coming to see me again? I'm getting out of the hospital!"

She also sent me two "teary" emoticons.

I smiled lightly and replied, "Tomorrow."

After that, I started the car and went to pick up Valeria and Krish.

...

The next day, I took Valeria and Krish to the hospital with me and met Essel.

"Ms. Chancey, are you going to do something later?"

Essel asked softly, holding my hand.

I smiled, "What's wrong?"

"I want to invite you to my house for dinner." Essel's eyes lit up. "You saved me and took care of me for so long. My daddy said he wanted to invite you to our house and have dinner. Isn't that right, Daddy?"

Essel gave Raphael a firm tug and glared at him.

Raphael glanced at Essel and frowned slightly, not saying anything, as if he was acquiescing.

Raphael nodded and said calmly, "Ms. Chancey, yes, I'd like to invite you to dinner at my house to thank you for taking care of my daughter these days."

As soon as he said that, I noticed Valeria's eyes lit up. She looked excited.

I still couldn't figure out why my daughter liked Raphael so much.

However, I actually want Valeria and Raphael to spend more time together, but I'm afraid that if they spend more time together, Valeria will really think of him as her father.

At that time, I would be the only one who would be embarrassed.

Seeing that I was silent, Maddox probably thought I didn't want to go, and quickly persuaded me, "Ms. Chancey, the cook bought fresh ingredients early this morning. By the way, our chef is currently the best Michelin chef in New York. Ms. Valeria and Mr. Krish will love it..."

Maddox suddenly paused. He saw a figure not far away and was taken aback.

"Ms. Melany..."
