Araceli POV
Shareholders nodded their heads and said, "We agree."
Zackary was annoyed, but he had nothing to say at this point.
He knew that with Eclipse Group and Navi Group working together, he wouldn't have to worry about anything for the next half year.
"Araceli, you'll be the marketing manager from now on. The current marketing manager will become your assistant."
I nodded my head. "Thanks, Mr. Chancey."
I glanced at Melany, who was so angry that her face turned red.
Melany pushed down her anger and said, "Dad, the current marketing manager has a Ph.D. from Harvard, and he's been with the company for ten years. Did you really decide to just make him Araceli's assistant? Dad, I hope you'll reconsider..."
I smiled and said, "That makes sense. Melany, since you think the current marketing manager is so good, he could replace you as general manager."
Melany's eyes went wide.
"Melany, you've been in the position of general manager for five years, but you've done nothing for the company. Maybe it's time for you to give up the position to the right person."
Zackary slapped the table hard. "Shut up! She's your sister!"
I sneered, "Dad, it has nothing to do with whether she's my sister or not. Besides, she's not my sister."
Zackary said coldly, "Don't think you can go against your sister just because you just signed up for a big project."
I narrowed my eyes slightly.
"Dad, you know accounting, don't you?"
I pulled a file out of my bag and tossed it on the table.
"It's Eclipse Group's annual financial statement from last year. You'll see why I forced Melany to step down as general manager if you look at it carefully."
Zackary flipped the file open.
He flipped through it for a moment and probably understood what was going on.
"Araceli, we can talk about these personal matters at home..."
I didn't wait for him to finish, but immediately took several copies of the documents out of my bag and handed them to all the shareholders.
In less than five minutes, all the shareholders looked through the file.
Suddenly, Benjamin stood up angrily.
"Melany! You liar!"
Melany's lips turned pale. She shuddered and said, "I didn't do anything..."
Benjamin's face was full of disappointment. "You actually took ten million dollars in the name of a project! We trusted you, but you embezzled public money and falsified accounts! We're going to fire you jointly!"
Everyone's eyes filled with rage, as if they wanted to devour Melany.
Melany's teeth were chattering, and her eyes panicked.
"It's Araceli! She deliberately made false accounts to frame me! I didn't embezzle the money!"
I laughed, "Are you sure? I could call the police right now and have them investigate. But, do you want me to call the police, Ms. Chancey?"
Melany was completely desperate.
It dawned on everyone.
If I called the police, Melany would definitely be detained for investigation.
This was an embezzlement case involving a huge amount of money.
Shareholders suspected me at first, but when they saw Melany sitting in a chair with a pale face, even shaking, they instantly understood what I said was the truth.
Benjamin shook his head in disappointment.
"Mr. Chancey, I don't think Melany is suitable to be the general manager anymore."
"Mr. Chancey, shouldn't you make it up to us for the ten million dollars?"
"I demand Melany be fired! I won't trust her anymore!"
"Melany, you'd better hand your notice now."
The shareholders discussed.
Melany suddenly instantly fainted and collapsed on the table.
I smiled coldly.
Melany was not worthy of being my opponent at all.
It was so easy to handle her.
After Melany fainted, the board meeting was aborted.
I left Eclipse Group and called Gavin and asked him to come out for a chat.
We met at a restaurant.
Warm light filled the spacious hall and reflected on the exquisite dining table. Gorgeous decorations and carefully selected artwork showcased delicate taste and unique style.
"Thank you, Mr. Collett," I said, raising my glass of red wine. "Please let me know if there's anything you need to help with."
Gavin took a sip of his wine and smiled, "Ms. Chancey, I have a favor to ask you right now."
I put my glass down, nodded, and said, "Please feel free to say."
Five years ago, I met Gavin by chance and had been good business friends with him.
This time, Navi Group gave Gavin full responsibility for the project. I asked Gavin about the application process, but Gavin immediately agreed to work with me.
The next moment, Gavin nodded at a waiter.
The waiter walked over, holding a large bouquet of roses.
The deep black color wrapped around the bright red flowers, like stars blooming in the dark night. The texture of black paper resembles black velvet, highlighting the delicate beauty of the roses.
I froze for a few seconds.
"Ms. Chancey..."
I looked at Gavin, a little puzzled.
Wait... Did Gavin have a crush on me?
How was this possible? It was so embarrassing!
Looking at my face, Gavin quickly waved his hand and explained, "Ms. Chancey, please don't get me wrong. This is a gift from Mr. Reynaldo Emerson."
Reynaldo?
That Bastard...
I pursed my lips and smiled, "All right. Thank you, Mr. Collett."
Gavin, visibly relieved, smiled and said, "Ms. Chancey, Mr. Emerson tells me that he likes you very much. I think you might consider being his girlfriend..."
I jokingly said, "Gavin, that's enough. Am I going to marry Reynaldo for your project? That's not what you said to me in the first place."
Gavin laughed out loud, "I'm just making a small suggestion. It's up to you."
I laughed too.
Five years ago, I introduced Gavin to Reynaldo. After that, Gavin was recognized by the executives of Navi Group and became the CEO of the New York branch of Navi Group.
That was also why Gavin was willing to work with me this time.
As Gavin and I were talking, I suddenly felt a pair of eyes staring at me.
