Araceli POV
"Belinda, we all think you're right."
Belinda?
I seemed to have a slight memory of this name.
At that moment, a cold laugh from a woman came. "Fuck you, Araceli, little bitch. See how I will kick you out."
This should be Belinda.
She said loudly, "Araceli will be thrown out soon. I promise."
The employees instantly shut up. Silence returned to the outside.
At that moment, the office door was pushed open. The words came clearly into my ears.
I raised my head and saw a woman. She was wearing heavy makeup and a long black lace dress.
Wait a minute...
I frowned slightly, thinking she looked a bit familiar...
I squinted my eyes and thought about it, and finally remembered.
At my coming-of-age ceremony, this woman seemed to have been following Melany around and handed me a glass of wine.
She was Melany's best friend! I remembered her name was Belinda Edgell.
Melany had actually asked her BFF to come to work at Eclipse Group.
"Araceli, Hi, I'm Belinda Edgell, and now I'm your assistant. I graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Business Administration..."
Belinda stood in front of her desk, head held high, introducing herself.
I withdrew my gaze, interrupted her, and said calmly, "Bring me the results of the marketing department's recent performance evaluation."
Belinda was Melany's best friend. I guessed that she must be the employee who got the highest bonus in every performance evaluation, but no one dared to have any objection to it. As long as Belinda didn't interfere with the department's work, everyone could turn a blind eye to it.
However, because of Melany, they didn't dare to mess with her.
Belinda paused and said, "Araceli, you're new here, so you don't know our rules. Ms. Melany said that no one can see the results of our department's performance evaluations except for her. If you want to see it, I suggest you give Ms. Melany a call."
"Melany has been fired." I said calmly, "Bring me the performance evaluation results, now."
I stared at her and said, word for word.
Belinda looked at me. Her forehead was covered in cold sweat. She didn't dare to contradict me again, so she pursed her lips and walked out.
I leaned against the back of my chair, a cold look in my eyes.
I would not abuse my personal power, but I would also never tolerate Belinda's constant provocations against me.
The office door was closed. I think the employees outside had heard the conversation between Belinda and me just now.
They immediately gathered around Belinda and discussed.
I didn't really want to care about what they said, so I opened a folder and started working.
I worked for a while and felt a little tired. I glanced at my glass of water, ready to go out and get some warm water, so I grabbed it and walked out of the office.
All the employees were working seriously.
I wasn't a very strict leader, so I didn't care if the employees were slacking off. I preferred to have a relaxed working atmosphere in the marketing department.
Suddenly, there was a pungent smell of paint.
Belinda didn't go to pick up the evaluation documents, but sat at the table painting her nails and putting on makeup.
I sneered, put my glass of water down, and walked over.
"Belinda!"
The employee next to Belinda whispered a reminder, but Belinda didn't hear it, humming a song while applying nail polish.
"Nice nails. You really should open a nail salon."
Without looking up, Belinda replied, "It's too tiring. I don't like it."
As she finished, she suddenly sensed something was wrong. She looked up and was met with my cold eyes.
Startled, she straightened her back and sat awkwardly in her chair.
I shook my head and was about to go get the assessment papers myself when I saw a stack of folders on her desk. It said, "Performance Evaluation Results".
Belinda had gone to get the papers, but she hadn't given them to me.
I was about to go get them when Belinda puffed up her chest and locked eyes with me.
"Araceli, shit, I'm not afraid of you!"
"Give me the papers."
I held out my hand at Belinda.
Belinda rolled her eyes and turned her head away from me.
I reached out and took a folder. I flipped open the performance evaluation results and smiled.
The performance evaluation results were divided into internal employee ratings, department head ratings, and administration department ratings.
Belinda's employee rating and leadership rating were both less than twenty points, while the administration department gave her a perfect score of one hundred.
She received the highest score in almost every form.
"According to Eclipse Group rules, an employee who fails three consecutive months of performance will be fired outright."
I said coldly, "Now, you can go get your paycheck for this month."
Belinda's eyes widened.
"You're firing me? Why? How dare you? Do you know what kind of relationship I have with Melany? No one can fire me! Do you know what family I come from? Shit, you little bitch! How dare you do this to me?"
I raised my hand and threw the performance evaluation document on the table. "If you don't get out of here immediately, I will post all the information about you in this document on the company's official homepage. Get out of here in half an hour. Or I'll have security come and throw you out."
"I won't leave!" Belinda said angrily, "Araceli, you bitch! Are you getting back at me?"
I laughed, "You're funny. Tell me, why would I want to get back at you?"
Belinda said through clenched teeth, "Because I'm Melany's friend, so you're kicking me out! If Melany finds out you fired me, you'll be killed by her! You will die!"
I shrugged. "I don't care. You can call Melany right now and tell her. We'll see what happens. By the way, it's not me who will die, but you and your damn BFF, Melany. I can always torture you until you beg me to kill you. I promise."
I grabbed the folders and cup, turned around, and headed to the break room.
Belinda screamed and threw her makeup and nail polish on the floor.
The pungent smell of nail polish and cosmetics instantly permeated the air.
Everyone was in shock, stood up, and looked at Belinda and me.
I looked at their eyes. Some were scared, some were worried, and some were relieved.
"What are you looking at?" Belinda yelled angrily, "Before long, you'll all be fired too!"
She took her phone and walked out in a huff.
