Lycan King's Long-Lost Luna

Chapter 31

Ch. 31 / 119 Feb 24, 2026

Araceli POV

I smiled coldly.

It would be nice if everything was really that simple, but unfortunately, it wasn't.

Melany must have a big secret. Otherwise, she didn't have to send someone to kill me.

What was it?

I thought about it for a long time, but no answer came to mind.

However, it did not matter. I could find out what Melany was scheming someday in the future.

I gave Melany a cold look and turned around to leave.

Melany suddenly took me by arm. "Where are you going? Araceli! Promise me, or I'll push you off!"

She stared angrily into my eyes, as if she was about to show her fangs the next second.

I glanced at the railing beside me.

This was the 50th floor. The buildings on the ground were as small as ants.

If I could, I also wanted to push this bitch down from here.

I turned my head, stared at Melany, and shook off her hand.

I patted my sleeve and said, "Melany, you're still on good terms with Mr. Lancaster of Royal Group, aren't you?"

Melany instantly shuddered and said, "Why are you asking that?"

I frowned slightly and saw the panic in her eyes. "I'm going to Royal Group later to talk about a partnership. Do you want to go there with me?"

I stared at Melany's expression as I spoke.

Melany yanked my arm again. "You can't go! I was in charge of Royal Group's project from the beginning! You're not going to use me to get close to Mr. Lancaster!"

"Melany, don't overreact so much. I opened a studio, and I'm currently preparing to work with Royal Group."

This time, instead of shaking off her hand, I raised my head and smiled politely at her.

She was a little shocked and let go of her hand. I took a step back and distanced myself from her.

I continued, "It has nothing to do with Eclipse Group."

Melany's eyes snapped wide. "What? That's impossible! Royal Group can never cooperate with you! Don't be ridiculous! I'm warning you, don't go near Raphael!"

I narrowed my eyes, suddenly sensing that something was wrong.

Melany was so easily angered after hearing about Royal Group's cooperation with me.

What exactly was she afraid of?

Did her secret have something to do with Royal Group?

Could she be afraid that Raphael might fall in love with me?

I sneered, then turned around and walked away.

Melany's voice sounded behind me. She said shakily, "Araceli, believe it or not, I'm the mother of Raphael's two children! I will be Royal Pack's Luna! Araceli, no matter what dirty tricks you use, you will not be able to replace me!"

I turned around, my eyes cold.

Melany opened her lips, looking very regretful. But the words had already been said, so they couldn't be taken back.

"Melany, do you think I don't know anything?" I sneered, "Raphael's two children are five years old. You weren't pregnant when I left New York."

Melany's eyes widened. "How do you know Raphael's two children are five years old?"

I could see why she was so shocked; Raphael was very protective of his two children. People didn't even know that he had two children, let alone their ages.

"I know their names." I said coldly, "So, are you doing all this to be their stepmother?"

Melany took a deep breath and said, "So what? What does this have to do with you?"

"After all these years, you're still the same cheap woman."

I glanced at her and stepped into the elevator.

Before the elevator door closed, I saw Melany leaning right against the railing, her eyes dazed.

I smiled, feeling delighted.

Half an hour later, I arrived at Royal Group's building.

It was a landmark in New York, with 100 floors, soaring into the sky, magnificent. People here all looked very busy.

I walked into the building, went up to the front desk, and asked, "Excuse me, I'm here to see Mr. Raphael Lancaster."

The receptionist, who was busy, looked up and froze before she could speak.

I smiled, looked at her, and asked again, "Hello?"

The receptionist snapped back to attention. Her fingers tapped on the keyboard for a moment. After that, she looked up at me and said, "Let me see, Mr. Lancaster is now in the president's office..."

I nodded my head. "Can I go up to see him now? "

"Miss, do you have an appointment?" The receptionist asked.

"No." I shook my head. "He asked me to meet him here yesterday."

There was instant contempt in the receptionist's eyes.

She said coldly, "You can't see Mr. Lancaster without an appointment."

I said patiently, "I do have an appointment with Mr. Lancaster. If you don't believe me, you can call the president's office and ask."

"Since you have an appointment with Mr. Lancaster, you can call Mr. Lancaster and ask him to send someone down to pick you up, although I don't think you'll do that. You better get out of here before I have security come and kick you out."

I frowned slightly and didn't say anything else.

I smiled, "Okay, but I hope you are prepared to suffer the consequences of letting me go. Besides, I suggest you not be so rigid in your future job search."

I turned around and left.

The receptionist looked at me with some panic, but still didn't say anything.

I walked calmly out of the building and prepared to take care of my studio's business.
