Araceli POV
Yoselin's party would be held on Friday.
I drove to Eclipse.
A few days ago, Eclipse was accused of trying to murder me. Therefore, Eclipse didn't invite too many people to Yoselin's party this time.
As soon as I appeared at the entrance of Eclipse, I attracted everyone's attention.
"Look, Araceli! Araceli is here."
"Araceli, you're really gorgeous."
I calmly smiled and chatted with Eclipse's guests.
I turned my head and saw Melany standing in the doorway staring at me grimly.
Melany clenched her fists and looked furious. I smiled gracefully, nodded at her, and raised my champagne glass.
Carina walked over and patted Melany on the back. Then, she looked at Melany and said something to her.
After a while, Carina walked towards me.
She suddenly started crying.
"Araceli, you're finally back!" Carina took me into her arms and cried, "I'm so sorry for that accident. Araceli, for the past five years, I have regretted it so much. I haven't had a good night's sleep since you left. I missed you so much. You're finally back. I'm so happy."
She cried tears of joy.
I smiled and didn't say anything.
Since Carina was going to continue to pretend to be my loving mother, I would find the time to reveal her true colors, but not now.
I gently pushed Carina away and said with a shudder, "Mom, I missed you too. Now that I'm back, you'll be as good to me as ever, won't you?"
Carina smiled smugly, took my hand, and said lovingly, "Of course. You are my daughter. I will love you no matter what mistakes you make."
She took my hand and walked toward the house.
I looked at Yoselin, suppressed my grief, and whispered, "Aunt Yoselin..."
Yoselin sighed, "It's so good to see you again, Araceli."
Other than that, she said nothing more.
I frowned slightly.
I could understand why she was like this.
I thought Carina and Melany must have told Yoselin a lot of bad things about me over the past five years, making Yoselin believe that I started the fire back then. Yoselin was a traditional woman, so she must now feel that I have disgraced the pack.
"Araceli, we all miss you so much." Carina gently touched my head.
I just felt sick.
At that moment, Melany suddenly spoke.
From the beginning until now, Melany had been smiling demurely, looking noble and elegant.
"Araceli, that accident in the countryside last time was really a misunderstanding." Melany said gently, "I am now the heir of Eclipse, so Dad gave me some bodyguards to protect me. Araceli, do you still want your mother's ruby necklace? Why don't I take you there again today?"
I sneered.
Was she trying to say that I was trying to steal my mother's necklace last time? Everyone knew that the ruby necklace was worth a lot of money and was buried by my father himself.
Sure enough, after Melany finished speaking, everyone started giving me a disgusted look.
Five years ago, that fire burned Eclipse's valuable belongings.
Everyone in Eclipse was affected by it, so of course they hated me.
I smiled softly, "Thank you, but you don't have to do that. Melany, I always wanted to ask, on the day of my coming-of-age ceremony, what exactly did you give me to drink? Why did I pass out after I drank it? I woke up to find myself in a big hotel bed."
Panic and unease flashed in Melany's eyes.
She narrowed her eyes and said, "Araceli, what are you talking about? You were drunk that night! What does that have to do with me? I do joke with you a lot, but I'm not going to hurt you! More importantly, Araceli, you are my sister. How can you be so suspicious of me?"
Melany bit her lip, and there were tears in her eyes.
Carina smiled smugly. She took a deep breath and said, "Araceli, you are my most beloved daughter. How could I set you up? Five years have passed since that incident, so let's not talk about it again. It's good that you are back safely."
"Yes, we should move on," I smiled, "Just now Melany said that she is now the heir of Eclipse, right?"
Melany frowned and stared at me. "Araceli, back then we all thought you were dead, so Dad named me the heir."
I also smiled and said, "But now I'm back. So, Melany, do you think you're still the heir?"
My eyes were sharp.
I suddenly turned around and said sadly, "Mom, didn't you say you would be as good to me as before? I want to get back everything that belongs to me. You'll definitely help me, won't you?"
Carina forced out a smile and said, "Araceli, Yoselin was discharged from the hospital just a few days ago. Today is not the time to talk about it. We'll discuss this tomorrow, okay?"
There was a grim look in her eyes.
"That's enough! Only I can decide who will be the heir to Eclipse!" Zackary said coldly, "Araceli, don't make a mess as soon as you get home! Just sit down and eat!"
My eyes got a little colder.
Carina could at least disguise herself, but my father actually revealed his true nature just like that.
Of course, I knew it would not be easy to settle the matter today.
I just had to bring it up and make them uncomfortable.
I bit my lower lip and said with a shudder, "Dad, I can do without everything, but can you give me back the exclusive rights to Eclipse Group's technology? My mother..."
Zackary's face grimaced.
"Araceli is right." Carina said, "Those shares and exclusivity belonged to Araceli in the first place. Since she's still alive, we'll give those things back to her."
"Mom!" Melany got anxious and finally couldn't pretend anymore. "I've contributed so much to Eclipse Group these past four years, and you're going to give everything to Araceli when she comes back? I'm the daughter of Eclipse too!"
I didn't expect Carina to help me at all.
I continued, "Mom, you're right, Melany has given a lot to the group over the years. How about this? I'll give Melany the shares my mother left behind. Dad, what do you think of this? I just want technical exclusivity."
Melany clenched her fist, shaking slightly.
Carina finally spoke up. She looked at me seriously and asked, "Are you really willing to give your shares to Melany?"
I nodded my head and said softly, "In these five years, Melany is the heir of Eclipse and has given a lot to Eclipse Group. These shares are what she deserves."
Carina also nodded. "Araceli, thank you for your understanding. You're such a good girl."
Melany was dumbfounded with shock.
