Annette looked at Connor speechlessly.
She felt that Connor was a little childish and didn't want to continue the topic with him.
She stepped into the room and said to Connor, "I plan to read. Can you go out?"
"Shouldn't we talk about what happened last night?" Connor followed Annette into the room.
"My request is the same as last time. Let's just forget about it and not mention it again," Annette said.
"Don't mention it again? Last time, I didn't intend to pursue you, so I agreed with you. But it's different this time."
Annette looked at Connor angrily and asked, "What's the difference?"
"You might not remember what you had done last night, but I remember it clearly. So, this time, you should be responsible for it."
Annette stared at Connor for a while to confirm that he was not joking. She said, "I should be responsible?"
"That's right." Connor nodded. "I did it of my own accord yesterday. I didn't want to force you. But today, you met Zachary, so I changed my mind."
"Since that's the case, how can it be my fault?"
"Last night, did I force you to drink? You got drunk yourself, and you had to take responsibility," Connor said confidently.
Annette's face turned red, and she regretted it a lot.
"What do you want?"
"Two choices. First, be my Luna. Second, be my girlfriend."
Annette sighed.
"Are you not satisfied? I will add another option for you. From now on, we'll sleep together every night."
"You should keep these choices for yourself. I won't choose any of them." Annette snorted.
Connor said, "So, are you not going to take responsibility for your action?"
"As you said, I was drunk last night. I don't remember what happened. You have no proof of what you said, and why should I believe you? Maybe it was because you couldn't control yourself when you saw that I was drunk."
Annette shook her head firmly. "I don't believe that I am the kind of person you are talking about. So the three choices you offered are invalid."
Connor stared at her and smiled, "Annette, you've become cunning."
Annette said disdainfully, "I have stayed by your side for so long, I should learn something from you."
Connor laughed heartily. "Very good. Annette, I'll give you a chance to turn things around. Tell me how are you going to settle the matter last night?"
Annette said, "You said that you planned to let it go and that you changed your mind because I met Zachary today. Zachary and I did nothing, and you shouldn't raise such an unreasonable request."
"You said you liked him before."
"That kind of affection was different from the love between adults. I am sure of it"
Connor raised his eyebrows and asked, "Between him and me, who is more important to you?"
"Can you not ask such boring questions?"
"You have to make a choice."
Annette felt that Connor was indeed childish sometimes.
"You." Annette was not stupid. She would not choose Zachary in front of Connor, or she would be targeted by Connor.
"Well, for the sake of your sincere attitude, you can choose again. First, sleep in the same room as me, and I will not touch you. Second, sleep in separate rooms, and I will have sex with you."
Annette frowned. "I won't choose."
"Alright then. I assume you chose the second one." With that, Connor turned to go downstairs.
Annette said hurriedly, "I chose the first one."
Connor glanced at her. He opened the door and walked out.
Outside the room, he put on a complacent smile.
He thought, 'I just put my requests in another way.
I thought she was getting smarter at my tricks, but she still fell into the trap.'
During dinner, Connor suddenly said, "In the future, don't go out with Darren to negotiate with others again."
"I didn't want to go. It was because Darren said that you had accepted his invitation." At the mention of Darren, Annette thought of Fiona. She asked, "You made Fiona resign, right?"
Connor smiled but did not answer.
Annette asked, "Why did you do that?"
"What do you think?" Connor looked at her arm as he spoke.
Annette frowned. "Just because she hurt my arm?"
"She went back on her word, and she was narrow-minded. I warned her, but she didn't take my words seriously. She couldn't blame me for chasing her away."
Annette didn't refute Connor.
She knew he did that out of kindness.
After dinner, she went upstairs to read in her room.
Connor went to the study to finish up his work. Then, he went to Annette's room.
"Do you want to sleep in your room or my room tonight?"
Annette frowned. "Are you serious?"
"Otherwise? Do you think I am just joking with you?"
Connor closed the door and said, "Let's sleep in your room. This way, you don't have to go to my room and you can sleep well. Continue with your book. I will take a bath now."
Connor entered the bathroom. Annette, who was lying on the bed, sat up and looked down at her nightdress.
She stood up and went to the closet to put on some pants.
She decided to buy some jumpsuits tomorrow.
Annette looked at the other side of the bed. She felt strange sleeping together with another person.
As she thought about it, she felt that something was wrong. She seemed to have been tricked by Connor again.
The next day, Annette went to work.
At noon, the colleagues in the office had lunch together.
During the meal, Alanna said, "This morning, I heard from other teachers that our school is going to release a brochure. A few venerable professors or Alphas in Akron will be invited for an interview. Our school will choose two teachers and two students to participate in it. Those who are selected will become the school's spokesperson."
Sara said, "It seems to be the first time our school has supported such a kind of publicity."
"That's right. The main point is, someone wrote a letter of recommendation to Darren."
Melissa laughed. "It is a pity that student instructors can not participate in it. If we can, I will volunteer."
