His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 127

Ch. 127 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

"Ms. Grace, one's hard work is always for his future, not the past." Annette smiled, "Don't indulge yourself in the past."

Alina put on a faint smile. "Ms. Hall, that's right and you are indeed a good teacher."

They smiled at each other and drank their coffee.

Marcus entered the living room and sat beside Lucas and Connor.

Connor asked, "What were you talking about with Annette just now?"

Marcus smiled, "I was just teasing her."

Lucas said, "This is nice. In the past, the atmosphere in our family was always suffocating. I feel much more relieved to hear such hearty laughter today."

Connor shook his head. "Marcus is always naughty."

"Why didn't you blame Annette? She wouldn't go easy on me."

"I will certainly take her side if you bully her," Connor said with a smile.

Lucas smiled. He suddenly said, "Connor, you have to be more careful. When Alina had a gathering with her friends, she heard them talking about Jessica and the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. They were telling others that the Blood Moon Pack and the Black Thorn Pack were going to have a marriage alliance. Do you have anything to do with Jessica?"

"What?" Marcus stood up excitedly. "People from the Black Thorn Pack are so shameless. Dream on! Jessica is such an ugly woman, and she is not qualified to be Luna of our pack. She was indeed a troublemaker. Fortunately, our Luna..."

Connor interrupted him, "Don't compare her to the people of the Black Thorn Pack."

Marcus realized that he had said something wrong. He explained hurriedly, "I don't like Jessica and her family. Connor, did you provoke that Jessica?"

Connor said calmly, "It's not a big deal. I only did Randolph a favor."

"Randolph?" Lucas wondered, "What does this have to do with him?"

"Randolph owed the former Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack a favor and returned it in my name."

Marcus said unhappily, "What should we do?"

Connor said, "I know what to do. Don't worry about it or make it public. When the time comes, they will have to bear the consequences."

Looking at Connor's expression, Marcus felt a chill. "Connor, what did you come up with?"

"Don't ask so much. You will know sooner or later."

Marcus complained unhappily, "I'm just curious."

On the contrary, Lucas was calm. "Marcus, keep composed no matter what happens. Don't forget that you are a member of the Blood Moon Pack."

Marcus looked at Lucas and recalled the younger Connor from the past.

He felt that the men of the Blood Moon Pack seemed to have put a heavy shackle on themselves.

In the past, none of them ever felt happy.

During lunch, Connor kept filling Annette's glass with soft drinks.

Marcus couldn't stand it anymore and said, "Connor, can't you let her do it herself?"

  "You're nosy."

"What I mean is, will you consider my feelings?"

"You don't have a mate, and it's your problem. Should we accommodate you because of that?" Connor said.

The corners of Marcus' mouth twitched. "In the future, don't call me over for a family gathering again. I am no longer a member of your family. I'm mad at you."

Annette put a piece of fish into Marcus' plate and comforted him, "Stop complaining. Eat your food."

Marcus showed off on purpose. "Connor, see? Luna still cares about me."

  Connor turned to Annette.

Lucas smiled at Alina and said, "Do you find that our family has more fun now?"

Alina smiled but did not say anything.

After dinner, they sat together and chatted about Marcus' performance at school.

  Then, Lucas and Alina left.

Marcus returned to school and played basketball with his classmates.

Annette was planning to take a nap, and Connor also entered the room. She asked, "I heard that Jessica is getting engaged to you. Is it true?"

Connor raised his eyebrows. "Alina told you about it?"

"Yes. When are you getting engaged to Jessica? Remember to send me an invitation. Although I don't like the Black Thorn Pack, I am willing to join for your sake," Annette said in a neutral tone.

Connor could sense jealousy in Annette's tone. He said in a good mood, "Okay. I will invite you. You won't have to wait too long for that day."

Annette was stunned. Was it true?

Noticing her surprised expression, Connor pinched the tip of her nose and asked, "I thought you were going to sleep."

"Get out," Annette's face suddenly turned cold, and she pointed at the door.

"Why? I want to go to sleep too," Connor said.

"Since you are involved with Jessica, I will never be near you anymore. Get out of here."

"Are you angry?" Connor raised his eyebrow.

"I told you to go out."

Connor was surprised that Annette was really angry.

"You are so petty. You angered me first, so I teased you. How could you be angry?"

Annette turned over. She covered herself with the quilt and refused to talk to him.

Connor got onto the bed and held her from behind.

Annette struggled, but he held her even tighter.

She shouted angrily, "Let go of me."

Connor kissed the back of her head and said, "What a grumpy girl. She got angry even when her boyfriend kissed her."

"Go and stay with Jessica. Isn't Jessica going to be engaged to you? She is your girlfriend, not me."

Connor lay in front of Annette and looked at her lovingly. "Alright, I was wrong. I won't get engaged to her or marry her. She's a member of the Black Thorn Pack, and I will only deal with her."

No matter how nice he sounded, Annette still remembered what Alina had said today.

She hesitated for a moment before asking, "What exactly is the grudge between the Blood Moon Pack and the Black Thorn Pack?"

  Connor fell silent.

After a long time, he rubbed Annette's hair. "Don't talk about those annoying things. Aren't you sleepy? Let's go to sleep."

  Annette's breathing became heavier.

She thought, 'He said that he loved me more and more.

However, his love for me can't compare to his love for Alina when he was young.

He is reluctant to share his secrets with me.'

  Annette felt a little upset.
