While having dinner at home, Annette was a little worried.
On the way back, she received a call from Sara.
Sara heard that the school had selected Annette and Marcus as student representatives.
Sara said, "Some students are dissatisfied with the result. They questioned why the school chose a student instructor as a student representative."
Connor gave Annette a cup of soda, which she disliked the most. But she picked up the cup and drank it.
Connor waved at her and said, "Annette."
Annette came back to her senses and asked, "What did you say?"
"Did something happen?"
Annette sighed, "Connor, do me a favor."
"Go ahead," Connor said.
"Our school plans to release a brochure, and Darren asked me and Marcus to be the student representative. I thought that Marcus wouldn't join it, so I told Darren that if Marcus agreed, I would also agree. I didn't expect that Marcus had been convinced in advance. It was not good for me to go back on my words. Please help me think of a way out."
Annette smiled at Connor.
Connor raised his eyebrows and asked, "How will you reward me if I help you?"
Annette frowned. "You always want a reward. If I don't reward you, will you refuse to help me?"
"If you were my Luna, I could help you unconditionally. Now, I can only take advantage of every opportunity to ask you for a reward. I am a businessman, and avoiding loss is my motto."
"Tell me, what do you want?" Annette said resignedly.
"I'll tell you when we go upstairs later."
Connor put on a sly smile.
After dinner, Connor received a call from Hari and went to work.
Annette returned to her room to read.
When Connor came back, she was reading on the bed as usual. When she saw him, she sat up and said, "You came at the right time. I'm stuck with a question and need your help."
Connor walked over and sat down beside her and showed her the solution.
Annette looked at him in admiration. "You are indeed amazing."
Connor smiled proudly, "Of course."
"By the way, I heard that you are going to be a lecturer at our school."
Connor frowned and asked, "Who told you that?"
Looking at his expression, Annette was puzzled. "Isn't that so? Darren's daughter, Judica, told me."
Connor looked a little displeased. He had asked Darren to keep it a secret, but he forgot about the nosy Judica.
"It is true."
"Why didn't you mention it before?"
"I wanted to give you a surprise, but it was ruined. That woman is so annoying."
"She said that you are adjusting your schedule. When are you going to start?"
"This week. I will give a lesson every Friday afternoon."
Annette was puzzled. "Since you don't like it, why did you accept their invitation?"
Connor leaned closer to her and smirked, "To get closer to you."
Annette's face blushed suddenly. She tried to avoid him.
However, Connor grabbed her and pressed her against the bed, kissing her.
Annette struggled and said, "Connor, stop it."
Connor's voice was alluring. "I told you, as long as you don't want to, I won't force you. But now, you can't refuse me. The kiss is the reward for me to help you."
He pressed Annette down and kissed her again.
Annette closed her eyes. Gradually, she began to enjoy the kiss. A moment later, she reacted and pushed him away. She sat up and tied her clothes while glaring at him.
"Connor, you liar."
Connor touched Annette's body just now. Annette blushed and covered the clothes tightly, both angry and shy.
Connor whispered in her ear, "Annette, didn't you like it just now?"
Annette covered his mouth. "Connor, if you keep talking nonsense, I won't be so nice to you anymore."
"You are unreasonable. Were you so reserved when you were with Kyle?"
Annette rolled her eyes at him. "Kyle is not like you. At least he won't do anything to me without my permission."
"It proves that he doesn't love you so much."
Annette said, "I think that's because he respects me."
"Love is different from respect," Connor shrugged and said.
"Well, you just have to be right all the time."
Annette picked up the book and refused to talk to him.
Connor rubbed her head lovingly and said, "I'll go take a shower."
He entered the bathroom. Annette let out a sigh of relief.
She placed the book on her knees and touched her lips gently with a hint of doubt in her eyes.
Why did she like Connor's kiss much more than before? Was she crazy?
The next morning, Annette went to school and the students were whispering to each other about her.
Annette knew the reason because rumors traveled fast.
She ignored the students and walked her way with her head up.
In the office, Alanna gossiped, "Annette, you're finally here. You went to Darren's office yesterday and didn't come back. Were you chosen as a student representative?"
Annette shook her head and said with a smile, "How is that possible? I graduated. I can't be a student representative."
Melissa said in a neutral tone, "Annette, come on, be honest with us. Everyone knows about it. Why did you hide it from your colleagues in the same office?"
Although there was no need to explain, Annette was not willing to ruin her relationship with others in the office.
She said, "I didn't receive any notice."
Alanna asked curiously, "What? Why did Darren look for you yesterday?"
"Because the male student representative is my student. So, he called me over."
Alanna understood. "You mean Marcus?"
"Yes."
Melissa looked at Annette and said in disbelief, "How could there be such rumors in the school? Annette, you are so unlucky. You have been slandered several times."
Annette said coldly, "Yeah. I wonder why."
Alanna said, "I'm afraid that before the female student was selected, the rumors wouldn't go away. They are very unpleasant to hear."
Annette shrugged and said, "The wise would not be fooled. They have the right to gossip. Let them be. I'm going to the Academic Affairs Office now."
