"Annette, you dare to bargain with me now?"
Seeing that Connor was about to press down, Annette wanted to get up and run away.
Connor had already grabbed her legs, holding her underneath.
Annette was anxious. She said, "Connor, you are breaking your word."
"We have a saying in the business field. All is fair in war. Countless facts have proved that promises made too easily are often unreliable. Remember it, OK? I'm teaching you stuff. As for tuition..."
After he finished speaking, he pecked her lips. "A kiss will do."
Seeing that he was going to take advantage of her again, Annette shouted anxiously, "I didn't ask you to teach me anything! You know what? Don't push too far! I'm still mad. I have accounts to settle with you."
"Yeah? I'm all ears. Since when did I offend you?"
"Get off me first, and then we'll talk."
"Nice try. I've seen similar tricks so many times that I stop taking them seriously after I reach ten. Now tell me."
Annette was furious and thought, 'He is so good at humiliating others.
It is unfair for me to negotiate with him in such a situation.'
He looked at Annette and asked, "So? You're really not going to tell me about your complaints? You won't get a second chance."
"Wait. Why did you let Darren arrange for me to be your assistant? You knew I didn't want others to know and get burned, but you did it anyway. You just wanted to screw me up, didn't you?"
"If so, I would have told Darren to make you my only assistant."
Annette curled her lips. "Then did you ask Darren to inform me to choose two more assistants or not?"
"What's wrong with that?"
"You put me in a bind by putting this on me. Whoever I pick, the others will hate me. I'm just glad that I told the other three teachers in our office that Darren wants us to be your assistants. Otherwise, I would be in so much trouble."
Connor raised his eyebrows. "I knew it. You are so smart, and such things are easy peasy for you."
"Stop kissing my ass. I had no choice."
Connor stood up with a hearty laugh.
Annette looked at him, feeling speechless for a second. Then she walked to the dressing room and said, "I'm going to take a shower, and then I'll go change my clothes and read. Just leave me alone."
Connor lay down on the bed leisurely.
Annette enjoyed her weekend. She spent two days at home reading.
Among the women Connor knew, Annette was the one who loved to read the most.
He thought, 'All the women I know go all out to try to seduce me.
She is the only one who doesn't take me seriously at all.
She won't even take the time to dress up when she is with me.
I'm used to her sloppy appearance now. When I see women outside with heavy makeup, I just find that they all turn me off.'
On Sunday afternoon, he came back from the company early and wanted to take her out for a walk.
Yet she was glued to the desk in the study. She said without raising her head, "No."
He walked over and asked, "Don't you want to go shopping? Maybe some new bags and clothes? The winter collection of this year was just released the day before yesterday. Let me take you there to take a look."
Annette looked up and glanced at him. "I'm not going. I have more clothes than I need."
"Those clothes of yours have been ages. I'll take you to buy some new ones for a change."
"I bought those clothes with my own money. Why should I listen to you and change them? No."
Connor pulled over a chair and sat down on the other end of the desk. He asked, "Annette, why don't you put on some makeup or dress up in front of me? Do you think that you don't need to spend time on making yourself look attractive in front of me anymore since you have successfully seduced me?"
She said casually, "I didn't seduce you. I don't dress up, because it's the way I feel most comfortable in front of you. You wear pajamas when you're at home, too, right? Also, I'm a student instructor. Is it necessary for me to dress up every day?
He was glad to hear her words. After all, her willingness to be so casual in front of him was in fact the affirmation of him.
And he liked the way she looked without makeup.
Annette leaned forward and said, "By the way, help me with a question. I'm stuck on it."
Connor got up and walked behind her. "Which one?"
Annette flipped two pages and showed him. "I highlighted it. I wanted to ask you when you came back at night. You caught me off guard by coming back so quickly."
Connor lowered his head to look at the question and then explained the solution to her.
She sat and looked up at him.
He stood beside her, bending down to look at her.
Annette's heart was suddenly pounding faster.
She thought, 'He looks so handsome from this angle.'
Time passed quickly. On Friday, the school was particularly lively.
Outside the multimedia room where Connor was supposed to teach, there had been a line outside the door since ten o'clock in the morning.
After class in the morning, most of the students in the classroom chose to stay in the classroom to have some bread and milk and wait for the afternoon lecture.
The students who had been waiting in the corridor for half a morning were very unconvinced. They thought, 'Who says those in the classroom can stay inside without leaving?'
Both sides had their reasons, and in the end, they got into fights.
This matter got the attention of the higher-ups in the school.
After all, a mass brawl would have a negative influence on the image of the university.
Because of this, Darren called Annette and the other three teachers in her office to his office.
His request was very clear. "You must come up with a solution to the incident this time. If this happens every Friday, the school will be in a mess."
After Darren finished speaking, Melissa quickly said, "Mr. Crace, we will do our best to come up with a solution."
"Everyone may do their best. That's not what I want. I am asking you to fix it. Alright then, that's enough for now. Go back and figure it out. Don't waste more time."
The four left Darren's office together.
