His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 109

Ch. 109 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

Annette picked up her knife and fork and began to eat.

She was a little worried. 'Can I really marry Connor?

  I am not confident.'

Annette glanced at Connor secretly. She had to admit that her attitude was indeed different from before.

In the past, she was sure that she would not marry Connor.

  But now, she was hesitating.

Annette no longer considered moving out of Connor's villa.

As Connor said, even if she moved out, he would still follow her. It would be safer to stay in his house.

She put all her attention on her students.

Marcus did well. He managed to join the school basketball team and became a regular.

His talent in leadership won others' recognition, and they wanted him to lead the team.

On Friday afternoon, Annette was watching the game on the sports court when she received a call from Fiona.

"Annette, come to me in the hospital."

"Mrs. White, you are no longer my leader and can't lead me around by the nose."

"This time, it is for Kyle."

"If it is about Kyle, I can't go. I have to keep my distance from him. Otherwise, I am afraid that Alpha Connor will misunderstand," Annette said on purpose.

"I beg you. You can ignore me, but can you go to the Akron City Hospital to visit a patient in the VIP ward? Annette, I have never begged you. This time, please help me persuade him, okay?" Fiona pleaded.

Annette frowned. What did Fiona mean?

Why did Fiona want her to persuade the patient?

"I don't have time." Annette hung up the phone.

After a while, Fiona sent a text message. Fiona, "Annette, if you don't want to watch Kyle die, go visit him. I'm begging you."

Annette read the text message and was stunned for a moment.

Did the patient Fiona mentioned have to do with Kyle?

What tricks was Fiona trying to play? Annette was confused.

Anyway, Fiona must be up to no good.

Annette put her phone into her bag and continued watching the game.

After work, Annette received a call from Roxanne.

It had been a long time since she heard Roxanne's voice. She said happily, "Roxanne."

  "Have you heard of it?"

  "What?"

  "Something happened to Kyle."

Annette frowned as she recalled Fiona's begging tone today.

She was calm as she said, "What could have happened to him?"

"A car accident. I heard that he might become a cripple."

Annette covered her mouth in surprise. She was obviously frightened.

  "Roxanne, are you sure?"

"Yes. Kyle is in terrible shape now," Roxanne said loudly.

Annette remained silent. She did not know what to say.

Leonard stopped the car at the entrance of the villa.

Annette did not move. She was still thinking about what Roxanne had just said.

Kyle was in a car accident and he was crippled...

Annette couldn't just ignore him. After all, Kyle used to be her mate.

She could not imagine what Kyle was going through now.

In the driver's seat, Leonard asked, "Ms. Hall, we're here."

Annette thought for a moment and said, "Leonard, take me to the Akron City Hospital."

  "Now?"

  "Yes."

  "OK, Ms. Hall."

Leonard drove to the entrance of the inpatient department, and Annette went upstairs alone.

Annette looked through the glass on the door and saw Kyle lying on the bed.

He was looking at the woman with her back to the door with a ferocious expression.

From a single glance, Annette could confirm that the woman was Lena.

"Get lost! I told you to get lost! Don't pretend that you care about me. It's all your fault. You ruined me. If not for you, would I have been reduced to such a state? Lena, get out of here!"

Lena cried sadly, "Don't wait anymore. She won't come. She doesn't love you anymore. If she loved you, she wouldn't have broken up with you so decisively. She didn't even make a fuss. You cheated on her, yet she was so composed and indifferent. Kyle, just woke up! Why can't you just get it? Annette accepted you because you were relentless, not because she loved you!"

Annette clenched her fists at the door.

Lena wiped her tears and continued, "It was not my fault. It was Annette who ruined you. Why did you go to school that day? If you didn't go to her, how could you have had a car accident and injured your legs? It was all her fault, but you blamed everything on me. Kyle, she never loved you. But I do."

Annette's heart skipped a beat. Did Kyle have an accident on the day he went to her?

She took two steps back. Recalling what she had said to Kyle that day, she felt guilty.

  Was it because of her?

The ward fell into silence suddenly, just like Annette's heart.

After a long time, Kyle said, "I will never blame her. I don't get to blame her. Just go. I don't want to see you again."

Annette was sad for no reason.

  She turned and left quickly.

When she reached downstairs, Annette got into the car and said, "Leonard, let's go back."

  "OK, Ms. Hall."

Annette did not enter the ward to see Kyle.

  She could not see him.

She did not know what she should say to him.

  Annette was upset.

She covered her face with her hands and felt a sense of sadness in her heart.

Leslie's words echoed in her mind like a curse. "Annette, no one will love you in this life. Those who fall for you will not have a good ending."

After returning to the villa, Annette ran back to her room and sat by the window gloomily.

Connor came in, yet she did not hear his footsteps.

He walked behind her and bent down to hug her.

  Annette was startled.

Connor let go of her and smiled, "What are you thinking about? You look dejected."

  "Nothing," Annette smiled awkwardly.
