His hands were vigorously clutching the steering wheel of his car, which he was driving at a terrifying speed. Sweat had formed on his forehead. His jaw was aggressively set, whereas his steel grey eyes had turned bloodshot red because of that storm of foreign emotions ,which was emerging inside him for the first time in his life.
He was running his car at a vigorous speed and finally halted when he reached his destination. He pulled his car and got out of it and stormed towards that certain direction where firstly, his eyes fell on those lifeless bodies which were wrapped in white sheets. Blood had soaked those white sheets which turned his existence numb because he thought one of those bodies was hers.
His body had turned ice. His voice had stuck in his throat. He felt like his own body had turned soulless after watching those dead bodies. His gaze was staring at those covered bodies, lifelessly when he heard that voice.
"Mr Grayson, "
He slowly tilted his head and saw Nathan standing in front of him and the tears rolling down from his face had made that thing more evident for him ,that he had lost her. He lost her before he could even make her his.
"You have seen both that body's faces, Mr Miller , so now have you identified the other person ? " The police spoke which made Nathan to trail his glossy eyes at him.
"No, sir. One is my friend, Dale but I don't know who the other person is, "
After hearing Nathan's reply, Arzal, who was wordlessly hearing everything, felt like someone had taken that extremely heavy and sharp stone away from his chest , which was numbing his heart painfully.
"So, this means your sister was not with Mr Dale Lewis at the time of the accident, "
Arzal finally came back to his senses after police uttered those words. He had never felt this much content, ever in his life, the much he was feeling after knowing she was not there. He had not lost her.
"Then where is your sister Ms. Seraphina Miller ? Because Mr Lewis had gone to her school to pick her up, then why was Mr Lewis returning alone from her school? " The police investigated
"I called her. She's still in her school because one of her cancelled class has rescheduled today, so she's attending it , "
Nathan's reply brought a heavy relief to him, realising she was safe and unharmed.
"Okay, then you have to come with us ,Mr Miller and one of the police member will go and pick your sister from her school and take her to the police station for further investigation because we also need her statement in this case , "
Nathan tensed up terribly, hearing the police because he knew how Seraphina was going to react after watching the police. She would be petrified .
Nathan was about to convince the police that she would not be able to cope with them but before he could speak,
"I will go and pick her up from her school, " That deep and raspy voice grabbed everyone's eyes towards it and the policeman's eyes widened when he finally found out who that person was.
"Mr Arzal Grayson? " He spoke, shocked a bit by seeing him there.
"Mr Grayson, you're here? "
"Yes, because Mr Dale Lewis was my employee and Mr Miller also works for me, " He lied, flawlessly because Dale was his least concerned.
"Besides , Mr Miller and his sister are my close and known ones, " Now that was the half truth. She was not just his close one, she was the only one to him.
"Oh... okay but you have to take Ms. Miller to the police station immediately," The police said, making him furrowed his brows in disapproval.
"But she's not linked to any of this so why would you need her statement ? " He spoke , fearlessly .
"Mr Grayson, Ms. Miller is linked to this case because Mr Lewis was supposed to pick her up from her school when this accident happened but she wasn't with him, so she is linked to this case. Please cooperate, " The police spoke respectfully because he knew who that person was before him and what authority he had in hands.
Arzal was about to argue back but Nicklaus held his wrist, who had also come to that place of accident.
"We will cooperate. '' Nicklaus spoke, squeezing his hand , making him halt.
Arzal looked at Nicklaus who gave him a light nod which made him sigh and trailed his eyes at Nathan, who was looking totally vulnerable and helpless.
Arzal placed his hand on his shoulder and squeezed it in an assuring manner.
"Everything will be alright, Mr Miller. "
Nathan exhaled a heavy and exhausted breath.
"I am not worried about myself but Seraphina, Mr Grayson. She's will... "
"Nothing wrong will happen to her and I will make sure about that, " His words were clear and rigid because he knew till he was breathing, he wouldn't let anything happen to her.
Nathan got a hope after hearing him but still Seraphina had to go to the police station, that thing was bothering him because he knew it was going to cause a terrible effect on her mentally.
"Mr Grayson, Seraphina won't be able to cope with this. It will traumatize her mentally which will worsen her mental condition more, " He told him because Nathan had told about Seraphina's mental condition to Arzal a bit that night, when she had to stay in his house because it was necessary. Seraphina wasn't like any other normal teenager of her age. She was mentally weak and sometimes, she processed things like a little child.
Arzal exhaled a heavy breath hearing Nathan and turned towards Nicklaus.
"Find out a way, so that she doesn't have to go to the police station, Nick, "
Nicklaus was a highly qualified and knowledgeable lawyer and the legal advisor of Grayson Corporation. He had his long reach in the world of law, so Arzal knew he was capable of doing something to take Seraphina out of that situation.
"I have a way to take her out of this but let me talk to their head of department first, " Nicklaus spoke and Arzal nodded.
After a couple of minutes, Nicklaus hung up his call with the head and stated, looking at Arzal.
"Mr Miller has to go with the police for further investigation. It's mandatory but his sister just needs to give her statement, so for that purpose, some of the police members will go with you to her school and then will take her statement there. She doesn't need to go to the police station, "
Arzal nodded at him and looked at Nathan who was giving him a grateful look.
"Thank you, Mr Grayson. Thank you for helping but if you can then please be with her, when they are going to question her about this incident please, " Nathan pleaded because he was helpless. He could not be with sister at the time of investigation because he had to go with police.
"Don't worry. I won't leave her side...ever, " That was a promise he had given him for his sister's safety for a lifetime.
"Nick, go with Mr Miller and take care of everything there and make sure ,they don't trouble Mr Miller much and let him go as soon as possible, "
"I will, don't worry, "
Nathan was stunned , why he was helping them so much when he had heard rumours about him totally opposite of it but Nathan started to believe he really was a very big and warm hearted man and in his and his sister's life he was like a blessing because Nathan was a kind of person who could never ignored someone's good doings towards him and especially his sister.
"Thank you, Mr Grayson, "
Arzal bobbed his head a bit and signalled Nick to follow him.
Nathan and Nick left with the police and a couple of police members followed Arzal's car which was going to her school.
