Leah's POV
When I woke up, I found out that I was lying in a giant bed, wearing nothing but a bathrobe.
Where am I? What time is it? What happened?
I rubbed my eyes and looked around, only to find out that there was a man sitting in the darkness of the room.
As I was about to sit up, I started to feel a shooting pain in my head.
My head was about to explode.
Finn's handsome face emerged from the darkness at the corner of the room.
I saw there was a bruise on the side of his mouth.
"Leah, you woke up," he said abruptly and stood up. "I will go fetch Mr. Cleary."
"No, Finn. Please don't go away. Stay with me." I stretched out my arm toward him.
Finn hesitated and eventually sat on the edge of my bed, holding my hands.
"What happened to your face? Did Jalin hit you again?" I frowned.
Finn tilted his head away from me and said, "No, Leah. I bumped myself into the door frame. I'm clumsy. I always bump into things."
I wrapped my arms around his waist to pull myself closer to him.
He lowered his head and leaned against the pillows of the bed, holding me in his arms.
I placed my head against his chest, sniffing his scent. His sweet scent always calmed me down.
"What time is it now?" I asked.
"It's 9:30. You slept for a whole night," Finn whispered. He lowered his head and kissed my hair gently.
"Oh, shoot." I struggled to get up. "I have to get up and go to work. I can't be late."
"Leah," Finn wrapped his arms around my waist and said in a soft voice. "Please stay with me for a bit longer."
I sighed and stopped struggling. We snuggled together like two little puppies.
"I don't remember what happened last night." I rubbed my head and said.
"That French tailor wanted to do the measurement on you, but you threw up on him. Then, you were too drunk to walk, so he had to carry you out of the dressing room. Then, Mr. Cleary came back and saw you lying on the sofa unconsciously. He thought you were dead, so he shouted at Troy. I tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen..."
"That's why he hit you?" I looked up at Finn and asked.
Finn lowered his head and kissed my forehead.
"No, Leah. Mr. Cleary has always been kind to me," he replied.
"Where's Lucas?" I asked. My headache was killing me when I thought of my husband's name.
"He's sleeping next door," Finn replied.
His face darkened when I mentioned Lucas' name.
"Is he OK?" I asked.
"Mr. Cleary called Alpha Lucas' Beta Jorah, but somehow he refused to come and pick his Alpha up. He said he was busy," Finn said.
I chuckled. This was typical Jorah. He ate our divorce paper. There was nothing in the world that he wouldn't do to make Lucas stay with me.
"Has he recovered? I need to go check him out," I said, trying to get up, but Finn wouldn't let me.
His arms wrapped around my waist more tightly.
"He lost a lot of blood," Finn whispered to my ear. "Dr. Monk managed to stop the bleeding. He's fine now."
My body started shivering.
"Finn, don't do this... I... I have to go take a look at Lucas..." I mumbled.
"Are you still married to him?" Finn asked.
"No... I mean, technically speaking, we're still married. But I promise that I will make his sign the divorce papers..." I rubbed my head and said.
"What if he didn't want to sign the papers? Does that mean that you're still married to him?" Finn asked.
Is he jealous of Lucas? I thought to myself.
I shifted a bit so that I could look into Finn's eyes.
There were some blood shots in Finn's eyes. He looked terrible. He must have stayed up late at night.
"Listen, Finn. I need some time to solve this particularly difficult situation right now. I need your 100% trust and support in me," I said in a calm voice. "I also need some patience."
Finn lowered his head and said, "Sure. I'm here with you, Leah. I will always be with you."
I didn't feel any affection in his tone of voice.
At that time, the bedroom door was opened and Gaspard the tailor walked inside.
As soon as he saw me lying in bed with Finn, he panicked and said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I pushed the wrong door! These rooms all look the same..."
"It's OK, Gaspard," I smirked and felt a bit embarrassed. "I was about to talk to you. I would like to apologize for my faux pas yesterday..."
"Oh, Miss Lewyn, please don't worry. It's a pleasure to serve you," Gaspard bowed slightly and said.
"Are you going back to Paris today?" I asked.
"Not really. My uncle asked me to stay here for a few more days so that I could visit clients and communicate with colleagues."
"Great. Please do stay in this humble place to let me show hospitality. Take it as my apology for ruining your shirt..." I said.
"Oh, Miss Lewyn, you're so kind," Gaspard replied with a sparkling smile.
"Leah, are you awake?" I heard Darren's voice. I popped my head up and saw Darren walking into my room.
He looked a bit surprised to see I have more than one company in my bedroom.
"Darren, thank you for helping me yesterday. Thank you for saving Lucas' life," I said.
"It's always a pleasure to help you, Miss Lewyn." Darren bowed and said. "Your husband has got nine lives. I'm not surprised, because even Death itself hates assholes like him. Anyway, I'm on my way to work. Do you need a ride, boss?"
"Sure. I'll take a quick shower and get dressed. I'll be ready in 20 minutes," I said.
I heard Jalin's voice coming from outside, "What? Do you want to skip breakfast, Leah? I've asked the kitchen to prepare a hearty breakfast for you. They have orange juice and everything. Perfect breakfast for the morning after a hangover..."
Jalin barely finished his speech when I heard the sound of footsteps outside. Both Jalin and Gaspard turned back and I saw Lucas standing at the door, holding an IV stand in his hand.
He took a glance at all the men with hatred and asked, "Am I interrupting anything?"
"Why are you here? You're supposed to lie in bed," Jalin said.
"I'm here to see my wife," Lucas stared at Jalin and said.
Jalin rolled his eyes and said, "Oh, really? Why is she in bed with another man?"
Just before Lucas shoved the entire IV stand at Jalin's face, I jumped out of bed and said, "Guys, let's be civil with each other. I'm going to get changed, so I need everyone out of my bedroom."
Jalin and Gaspard left, followed by Darren.
Lucas stared at Finn and said, "Beat it, male whore. I need to have a private conversation with my wife."
"I am not a male whore." Finn said word by word, clenching his fists. "I've got a name and it's Finn."
"I don't care. Fuck off and leave me and my wife alone," Lucas changed his hand into a claw and said.
My head was about to split into two halves.
"Both of you, get out of my bedroom!" I covered my head. "I don't want to see any men anymore! Not before breakfast!"
