Leah's POV
Damian stood tall. His posture was strong and confident.
As we hit the dance floor, he took a step forward, extending his arm towards me.
I stood before him with my eyes fixed on his. I was wearing a flowing red dress that accentuates the curves of my body.
I had never thought that I would wear this dress while dancing tango in front of a hundred people with a man that I barely knew.
My hair was styled elegantly, pinned up to reveal my slender neck.
"I love your hair, Leah. All you need to do is to relax and go with the flow," Damian lowered his head and whispered into my ear.
I took a deep breath and placed my hand on his outstretched arm with my fingers lightly brushing against his skin.
As the music intensified, Damian began to lead me in a series of intricate steps.
He moved with precision and grace with his feet gliding across the floor as if in a trance.
I had no other option but to follow his lead. To my surprise, my body was perfectly in sync with his. That was the strangest feeling that I had ever had. It reminded me of having sex, but it was totally different.
I had to admit that I was a little bit turned on by being held and handled by Damian like this.
His strong, powerful arms, and broad chest, reminded me of Lucas. And the way he moved his body while dancing reminded me of Finn.
As the music hit the climax, I started to take the lead.
Damian's eyes widened in surprise.
I seized the moment, twirling him around and dipping him low. My movements were bold and confident.
The crowd erupted in applause as we continued to move in perfect harmony, each taking turns leading the other.
Just as I felt excited, a pair of powerful hands held my waist and pulled me drastically back.
I looked back and saw the handsome but angry face of my ex-mate.
"Lucas, why are you here?" I asked with surprise. My body started to get frigid. "You're supposed to be on a business trip..."
"Come on, Leah," Lucas said to my ear. "You know the rule. The music was still on. Keep dancing."
I lifted my head and looked up at him.
Lucas was still strikingly handsome, with sharp features and a chiseled jawline. His hair slicked back perfectly. The deep navy suit he wore hugged his toned physique, showcasing his broad shoulders and tapered waist.
Despite his handsome appearance, there were flames of anger in his eyes as he watched me.
"Where's your charming smile, Leah? You were smiling at that man when you were dancing with him. People are watching us dance. The look on your face will make them think that I abducted you. Relax, Leah. Will you?" Lucas said while staring into my eyes.
He had a faint smile on his face as if he was enjoying the dance with me, but his voice was freezing cold.
"Lucas, Damian is just a friend of mine..." I tried to turn my head away from him.
"You've made too many friends, Leah. You weren't that sociable when you were with me," Lucas said as he pulled me hard against his chest. Then he swirled and dipped me on his knee, so I had to look at him.
"Could you please stop making a scene? I was just trying to have fun," I said. "I've got a lot of stress right now and I need to release it by..."
"By dancing with a man that you barely know? By hurting my heart? Is that what you're trying to do?" Lucas snarled.
Obviously, he couldn't bear the thought of anyone else touching me, let alone holding me close.
In a swift move, he made his way toward me, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards him.
"Don't mistake my understanding and tolerance for weakness and indulgence, Leah. I know what happened between you and Finn in that warehouse the other day. He told me everything, including how he made you come as I beat the crap out of him. He seemed to enjoy it rough. How about you, Leah? You really enjoy rough sex as well, don't you?" Lucas growled.
I abruptly pushed him away, but he pulled me back again. Our dance started to be filled with tense, strained movements, as we argued back and forth in hushed tones.
"You lay your hands on Finn again, I'll make sure that you'll never see me again, Lucas." I wrapped my arms around his chest and said in a low voice.
Ah, his smell. The mixture of cigarette and cedar. I just couldn't help but be drawn toward him.
Our passion was undeniable, however, and soon our movements became more fluid, and more intimate.
As we twirled around the room, our bodies pressed together, our eyes locked in a heated gaze.
"You're mine, Leah. Nobody else will be able to take you away from me." Lucas said as the music drew to a close. Then, he pulled me in for a kiss that was both passionate and possessive.
He was madly in love with me.
I couldn't deny it.
I couldn't resist it.
He kissed me so hard that I felt that I was about to lose my breath.
"Hey, leave her alone!" I heard Damian's voice.
Then, I felt that Lucas was pushed away from me.
Lucas stared at Damian and then narrowed his eyes.
"You must be Damian," Lucas said with a sinister smile.
"Yes, I am. Who are you and why are you bothering this nice lady?" Damian snarled.
"I am this nice lady's husband. Has she told you that she's married?" Lucas asked in a taunting voice.
Damian stared at me, looking shocked.
"Leah... Is he telling the truth? Are you... Are you married?!" Damian asked.
"Yes, and no... Damian, please listen to me. It's really complicated..." I tried to explain.
"Do you think this is funny?" Damian stared at me and asked in an angry voice. "Are you playing with me?"
