Third Person's POV
Cliff saw Vanya the moment she walked in.
He also noticed Theodore, who was following behind her. That sight seemed to sting his eyes.
Wilmot had been waiting inside for quite some time. Upon seeing Vanya, his eyes lit up instantly.
He dropped the glass of red wine in his hand and strode quickly towards her.
"Why so late?"
Wilmot's tone conveyed dissatisfaction, but more so, it was filled with delight.
Vanya said, "Let me introduce you. This is my friend, Grace."
Wilmot's expression changed slightly upon seeing Grace.
Grace, however, seemed quite intrigued and said, "Wilmot? You've grown up. We've met when you were still a kid."
With that, Grace reached out to tug at Wilmot's ear, but he quickly blocked her hand, exclaiming, "I'm grown up now! I'm not a kid anymore!"
Vanya hadn't expected that they knew each other.
Grace then explained to Vanya, "When we were kids, the Hammond family and our family had business dealings. I was the eldest. Derrick was my little follower back then, and Wilmot was younger than both of us. He had to be disciplined by us every day!"
Vanya's eyes widened in realization, but Wilmot wished he could cover Grace's mouth, saying, "Grace! Stop talking nonsense!"
Grace, however, didn't care about that.
Vanya chatted and laughed, while Cliff, who was watching from a distance, felt a pang of discomfort.
Elliot couldn't help but ask, "Alpha Cliff, aren't you going over?"
After all, in front of others, Vanya was still Cliff's wife. If he didn't go over, it would look odd.
Cliff replied in a deep voice, "Take a look."
Meanwhile, Raven and Fawn had been observing the situation around Vanya. Seeing that she was surrounded by influential people, and even Wilmot had personally gone to greet her, they quickly sensed something was amiss.
Fawn frowned and said, "Didn't we hear that this woman was a call girl? Why are so many important people surrounding her?"
"Yeah, one of the men seemed to have driven her around in a luxury car before. The woman who was playfully interacting with Wilmot also seemed wealthy and influential. And there's even a teacher from our school," Raven added.
"What do you mean wealthy and influential? I think that woman is probably just another socialite here to charm men," Fawn remarked, though her tone was skeptical.
Despite her words, Raven cast a doubtful glance at Melinda. "But why would Wilmot be so interested in a socialite? He even went to greet her personally."
Melinda reluctantly said, "I told you. It was probably just a rumor."
"A rumor?"
Raven's tone now carried a hint of doubt.
It was Melinda who had initially claimed that this woman was her boyfriend's admirer, someone trying to become the other woman.
Now, Melinda was backtracking, which seemed suspicious to anyone.
"Melinda, isn't that your boyfriend?"
Fawn pointedly asked, as they all saw Cliff walking towards Vanya.
Melinda's face turned pale, and her lips turned slightly white.
"I, I don't feel well... I'm going to leave."
Melinda wanted to leave quickly, but Raven grabbed her hand and said sarcastically, "Stop. Isn't he your boyfriend? He's openly fraternizing with that other woman right in front of you. As good friends, we have to stand up for you."
"That's right, we'll take you over there and demand an explanation," Fawn added, exchanging a glance with Raven.
They wanted to see the drama.
Melinda shook her head. She absolutely couldn't go over there at this moment!
Not far away, as soon as Cliff approached, the atmosphere around him seemed to drop.
Vanya, however, seemed oblivious. "Oh, isn't that Melinda? Alpha Cliff, why aren't you with Miss Coleman? She looks a bit unwell."
Cliff's face darkened.
At a time like this, she wanted him to care about Melinda?
Grace had no pleasant expression towards Cliff.
Wilmot said, "Alpha Cliff, you walked in with another woman just now. I thought the Silver Moon Pack had changed its Luna. Vanya, with Alpha Cliff still here, why are you alone?"
Wilmot's words seemed casual, but they carried a hint of sarcasm.
Vanya smiled faintly, showing no intention of giving Cliff an easy way out.
Seeing this, Cliff discontentedly grabbed Vanya's arm, pulling her closer to him, and said coldly, "Vanya is my Luna. The Silver Moon Pack will never change its Luna."
Vanya frowned. Everyone present fell silent.
Even Vanya felt that Cliff's words were rather presumptuous.
She had no intention of being the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack for the rest of her life.
"Melinda! Melinda, what's wrong with you?"
Suddenly, Raven's shout from not far away caught everyone's attention.
Cliff turned around to see Melinda collapsing into Raven's arms, her face deathly pale.
