LUNA'S POV
I grudgingly try to open my eyes when I feel a gentle tap on my shoulder. Who dares try to interrupt a pregnant woman's sleep?
"Wake up sleepy head, it's almost noon"
That voice, it's a female voice and it sounds very familiar. I shoot my eyes open and let out a scream when I see Alora seated by my side.
" Oh my God!" I exclaim in joy as I hug her tight. I have missed her like crazy!
"Easy girl, you're pregnant"
"Alora, are you for real?"
"It's your girl, damn! Pregnancy looks good on you babe. You are glowing!"
"I'm getting fat!" I say rolling my eyes.
"You still look hot!" Asher chips in as he walks into the bedroom. He is already dressed up for work and I do not need to tell you that he looks breathtaking...you know. The tuxedo he has on fits him perfectly and the I like the way a chunk of his hair falls down his face almost concealing his left eye.
The hottest Attorney in the country.
"You think I look hot with this bump"
"Not only hot, but also ravishing!"
"You are utterly delusional"
"Well forgive me for stating the obvious" He leans forward and kisses my forehead. "I have to go now, I've got a few hundred things to do at the firm"
"When will you be back?"
"No idea yet, but I want you here by the time I return. Alora, don't leave her side"
"Yes Sir?"
"I'll make sure to come home early"
"Okay" I say pouting
"That's my girl. Camille will soon be done with breakfast. Alora" He calls as he turns to look at her.
"Yes bro"
"Make sure she eats well and takes her medicine"
"I will do just that"
"Thank you" He says as he plants a kiss on her forehead and walks to the door.
"You two behave, don't do anything outrageous" He warns because he knows what we are capable of doing together.
"We'll try" Alora teases and he shakes his head and leaves the door. Alora turns to face me. "You have got a lot to tell me!"
"Trust me, I do!"
"I have an idea"
"What could that be?"
"Why don't you move in here? Let's live together until you have the baby"
"Are you sure Asher will want that?"
"Are you fucking kidding me right now?, Asher will personally bring your stuff over here if you mention it to him"
"Kyle already asked me to move in with him"
"Ditch him, I'm more important and you love me more, so you'll choose me over him" She says carelessly and I can't help but laugh.
Alora is the most Sassy girl on the planet.
"Alright then, I will let him know about the change of plans"
"That's my girrrlllljl...Yes!" She suddenly says as she claps her hands. "Tell me eveeerryyyyy thing! I can't wait to hear it all"
"I'm hungry" I complain as I get down from the bed.
"Luna don't do this to me, I'm dying to know how the CEO treats you"
"And I will tell you everything, just let me eat first...please"
"Fine!" She says furiously.
"Good girl" I remark as I disappear into the bathroom.
By the time I'm done narrating everything to Alora, she is looking at me like I suddenly became a ghost.
"I knew it!" She suddenly exclaims lousy. "I have had this hunch all along, I knew that one night stand was going to turn into something very interesting now this is it, you have completely captured the CEO's mind. He has fallen in love with you!"
"I feel sorry for myself"
"What for?"
"He is engaged to another girl and his wedding is coming up in five months. I'm still going to be nothing but a baby mama. What difference does it make?"
"Babe, five months is a long time, who knows?, maybe he will change his mind and decide to call it off"
"I wouldn't want him to do that. Yes I love Ace, God I love him very much but I don't want to snatch him from his fiancé. If I have to be with Ace, I want it to be in the most genuine way" I explain and she scoffs.
"There is no genuine way for lovers to meet. Do you really think that if Sophia were in your shoes she'd take all these precautions you are listing here?. The Sophia that you and I know?"
"I know she won't, but I'm not Sophia so I won't do what she would've done. I don't want to do anything that I will later on regret" I say firmly and Alora shakes her head in disapproval.
I understand why she keeps insisting on me getting involved with Ace. She hated Sophia and so did I. Way back in high school she used to lead the bad girl crew. The typical bad girl crew which was made of filthy rich and extremely hot girls who found pleasure in bullying and treating other students like trash. She used to bully me too before I got to meet Alora who always had my back.
I can't recall the number of times Sophia and Alora had gone for detention because they got into a physical fight. Alora hated Sophia for being a pompous self satisfied strut and Sophia hated Alora for being fierce enough to stand up to her.
That hatred has died down.
"You do know that this karma getting back at Sophia for all the mean things she did to you in high school right?. You never for once stood up to her, but here you are, pregnant for her fiancé and gradually capturing his heart and mind. You have no idea how much joy this brings to me"
"Alora, you are pure evil"
"I am not, sweetheart. I just like it when people get paid back in their very own coin. Sophia deserves whatever torment she's getting right now. All those relationships she sabotaged in the past, people's boyfriend's she snatched and even how she played your brother, Kyle! It's time for her to pay, so don't feel sorry for her" She spits out bitterly as she picks up the TV control and turns on the TV. The first channel to show up is a news channel.
"Typical Asher, he's always watching the news"
"He is so boring" Alora says in a bored tone as she rolls her eyes.
"No he's not!" I interject.
""Yeah, whatever!...oh wait" She exclaims as she pays attention to the woman talking on the screen with a flock of journalists and a myriad of cameras flashing lights at her.
"She looks like Mrs. Cole"
"Mrs. Cole as in Ace's mother?" I ask in shock.
"Most definitely"
"Mrs. Christine Cole" I read the name on the screen.
"That's her, that's Ace's mum!. Let me turn on the volume" She turns up the volume and we both sit down to listen to what she has to say.
"Mrs. Cole, what do you have to say about your son being responsible for Miss Angelis' pregnancy?" One of the journalists asks and I feel my entire body tense up as blood pauses in my veins. I feel a wave of fear rush down my spine and causes me to shudder. I am suddenly very hot and instantly, I feel a drop of sweat slowly trickle down my temple to my jaw. Alora gives me a nervous glance and I swallow dryly.
"I don't know where you guys get all these rumors" Mrs. Cole replies "My son is a very responsible and we'll mannered man. I raised him well. He has a fiancé and so there is no need for him to look at another woman not to talk of getting her pregnant. My son is not responsible for Luna Ramora's pregnancy! He even said so himself!" She says firmly and feel my head spin violently like a roller coaster.
What in heaven's name did she just say?
"But your son was spotted at Monteplaza yesterday at noon with Luna Ramora Angelis and they seemed quite close"
"They are not close! That uncultured whore is the one forcing herself on my son. He wants nothing to do with her. Stop these rumors, my son is not responsible for Luna's pregnancy..."
The TV goes black.
