The TV goes black.
"The hell!" I exclaim in dismay.
"You shouldn't be watching that, that woman is pure evil" She says as she gives me warm hug and without warning, I burst into tears. This is way messed up than I thought it was. I can't even begin to image the number of people watching that news right now. If I dare step out of the house right now, paparazzi will molest me big time.
This is the end of me!
Alora's phone rings and when she checks the caller ID, She looks at me.
"It's Asher" She says as she picks up the call and puts on loudspeaker.
"Hello Ash"
"Where is Luna?"
"She is right here"
"Did she watch the news?"
"Yeah, all of it"
"Do not let her get out and do not let anybody in, most especially Ace"
"I won't"
"Good, give her the phone"
"Just talk, the call is on loudspeaker"
"Luna" He calls softly.
"Ash"
"Are you alright?" He asks concerned and I burst into tears again.
"I'm not"
"I am on my way home"
"What about your work?"
"Don't worry about that. Just wait for me, okay?"
"Okay" He hangs up and Alora puts the phone on the table and we both quietly sit on the couch.
Mrs. Cole's words keep replaying in my mind and I feel about fifteen thousand holes of disappointment punched through my heart right now. She just had to lie on TV.
By tomorrow, it will be all over the internet and news papers. Everywhere I go, paparazzi will be on my tail. People who have no idea what's going on will believe her and think I'm some desperate gold digger.
My parents will go mad. I can't help but wonder what my father is up to right now. I just hope he doesn't do something too drastic.
About thirty minutes later, the doorbell rings and Alora goes to open it. I am surprised to hear Asher scolding at someone outside and when I go to look, I almost faint when I see Ace. He looks pretty pissed off and so does Asher.
"Ace I've said no! You can't talk to her right now" Asher scolds.
"I don't need to take orders from you Asher, I need to talk with Luna"
"If you want to talk with Luna then fix this mess. Ask your mother to change her statement because all she said was pure lies and you know it. I will sue her fro defamation of character!" He scolds again.
Typical Asher!
He is always threatening to sue people.
"I don't care about any of that right now, just let me talk to Luna!" Ace equally scolds.
"And I say no!"
This is not good. I'm about to step out and stop them when a black Lamborghini drives into the premises and parks. Asher and Ace stop arguing as we all focus on the car to see who it is and when the car door swings open, a very stern looking Kyle walks out looking like a badass gangster in his all black outfit.
I'm definitely going to steal that black leather jacket he has on.
I break into a wide smile and rush out of the house. He takes off his black sunglasses as he walks towards me totally ignoring Ace and Asher.
"Come on Princess, let's get you home" He takes my hand and leads me to the Lamborghini, I stumble behind him as I look at Asher and Ace. I feel bad for leaving like this, but I have to go else Kyle will loose his temper and that will not be good at all.
When we get to the car, he opens the passenger seat door for me and I get into the car with my gaze not leaving Ace.
I swear I don't blame him for this and I want to tell him so he will stop feeling guilty. Once Kyle is settled in the driver's seat, he ignites the engine and is about to take off when Alora knocks at his wind screen, he lowers it and shoots her a deadly glance.
"Oh please Kyle, spare me all this gangster attitude, I only came to give her cell phone" She hands over the phone and leaves. He ignites the car engine and drives out of the compound.
"When did you arrive?" I ask.
"About an hour ago"
"You know you should have at least greeted people, right?"
"I wasn't in the mood, besides you should be grateful I didn't punch that pathetic excuse of a man called Ace"
"Do not talk about Ace like that!" I defend. "He has nothing to do with this, on the contrary he was there to talk to me but Asher wouldn't let him through"
"Then I guess I owe Asher one for that. I don't want him anywhere around you, not until he gets his mother to clear your name"
"Kyle you need to calm down"
"No, I won't. I don't even know how to face our father. I was on my way to Asher's place when he called and asked me to bring you home. Who knows what he is up to?"
"He's going to ground me, he is definitely going to lock me up in my bedroom for the rest of my life" I lament.
"I won't let that happen, trust me"
"Please don't take me there, I don't know how to face mum and dad" I plead in tears.
"I'll be there by your side Princess, trust me, I won't let them give you any sort of punishment" He assures me and I nod in agreement. I trust Kyle to always have my back especially when it concerns our parents. He always defends me and never lets them force me into doing something I don't like.
He is my knight in shining armor.
"How did you know I was at Asher's?"
"Apart from being a CEO, I'm also an IT expert Princess. I tracked your phone" He explains proudly.
"Oh..." Is all I can say and rest my head against the headrest and continue to think about the kind of punishment that waits me at my parents place.
