LUNA'S POV
Asher deliberately refused to see me when I got back home last night. He had locked himself up in his study and claimed to be busy. I clearly understand the reason for his actions and to be honest I would react the same way if I were in his shoes. Right now I really feel bad for ditching my plans of giving him a chance. The moment Ace mentioned that he wanted to be with me, everything changed. I couldn't help but accept being his woman.
I sincerely love Ace and I want to be with him and nothing will stop me. All this while I tried to be considerate with Sophia despite our rough past. I didn't want to snatch her man away from her but she pushed me to the wall. She started by sending threat messages then she attacked me at the restroom at the mall. My waist still hurts from that fall and when I think of all the mean things she did to me in high school, I just can't help but want to pay her back in her very own coin. I think this is just karma getting back at her because she went as far as sabotaging people's relationships in school. If she wasn't snatching someone's boyfriend, she was causing a scandal that would make the guy break up with his girlfriend. Trust me she was horrible and I think this is karma getting back at her. Even if I wanted to, I won't feel guilty for taking Ace from her because I know I did my best to hold myself back. I was considerate but she totally ruined this for herself when she chose violence.
Let's not even talk about the fact that Ace has never even really loved her in the first place, their union was orchestrated by their mothers and now he doesn't want it anymore. So you see, I didn't really snatch Ace from Sophia.
Ace chose me over Sophia.
Once I get into the kitchen I open the fridge and take out a bottle of milk from it and place it on the large kitchen table. What I want for breakfast is corn flakes soaked in milk. I walk over to the kitchen shelves and struggle to take the pack of cornflakes that's at the top.
"Why is it so high up?" I grumble as I struggle to jump and grab it, I feel a firm hand brush past mine above and take the pack with ease, I gently turn around and I raise my head up, only to meet with Asher's gaze that's focused on me.
My breath hitches..
He looks perfect and is already dressed up for work. I bite my lips as I bow down my head and play with my fingers. Without uttering a word, he walks over to the large kitchen table where he half fills a bowl with the cornflakes and pours the milk in it.
"Asher, are you mad at me?" I ask with a tiny voice when he hands the bowl to me. Without uttering another word, he gently pulls into his arms and kisses my hair and my forehead, and then he leaves just like that.
When I fix one, the other goes down the abyss. What do I do with these men?
"Sleeping beauty is finally awake" Alora announces as she walks into the kitchen.
"There's no joy this morning, Asher is mad at me" I say as I pull out a chair and sit by the table and start eating my cornflakes.
"He'll be fine" she's carelessly
"How can you even say that so casually?"
"Because he's my brother and I know him all to well, trust me when I tell you that he'll be fine"
"Alright then"
"You know he's bent on finding the girl he had a one night stand with the other night" she announces and I immediately choke on my food. I cough violently and she hastily gives me a bottle of water which I greedily gulp down as she rubs my back.
That caught me off guard indeed.
Asher is not the type to go sleeping around.
"The hell!" I exclaim in shock the moment I'm calm again.
"Trust me, I was just as shocked as you are right now when I found out.
"What exactly happened?"
"so ... he sneaked out of the house without my knowledge the night you went over to Asher's place. He acted like he was cool when I told him but then sneaked out and I only got a call from him a few hours later. He wanted me to go him up at "Dickey's Inn" and when I got there, he reeked of alcohol and sex"
"Did you meet the girl?"
"Nope, even Asher didn't see her face because it was totally dark at the underground garage"
"Then how does he intend to find her"
"Has there been anything impossible for Asher to uncover? Sooner or later we're gonna know who the lucky bitch is"
"She is indeed a lucky bitch"
"Enough with Asher and his lucky bitch, tell me about the CEO... Oh.... I noticed the fingerprints are almost invisible"
"Thank God Asher didn't notice, I had to use lotions upon lotions to clear it off. Mrs. Cole just happened to show up that morning and blow me another one"
"Oh my God!"
"But that's not important because I've won," I say with a bright smile.
"Meaning...?"
"Ace is going to call off the wedding" I say and she screams as she jumps around the kitchen.
"No way" "
"Yes way"
" Lucky bitch!"
"That's me, he chose me and I don't feel guilty about it"
Of course you shouldn't, Sophia deserves it . All those relationships she ruined way back in high school, this is Karma getting back at her"
"That's exactly what I thought"
"Congratulations girl, I am so happy for you" she says, giving me a bone crushing hug. A message notification chimes in my phone and without hesitation, I pick up my phone to check hoping it's from Ace. I type my password, unlock the phone and immediately click on the WhatsApp message notification which happens to be from a strange but familiar number.
It's the same number Sophia always texts me through. I really wonder what she has in store for me this time around. Once I notice it's a video I immediately click on it so it can load.
"Sophia just sent a video"
"What's it about?"
"I'm about..." I freeze the moment the video starts playing.
It's a sex video between Ace and Sophia and it appears to be a last night event. My phone immediately falls off my hands as I start panting. I feel a sharp pain pierce through my heart and I can feel my entire body start to tremble. My mind goes totally blank and before I know it, everything goes black. The last thing I can hear is Alora's faint voice calling my name.
SOPHIA'S POV
FLASHBACK
This is it, this is the last chance I've got to play my game. Asher invited me over to his house for diner so we could talk. I don't know what it is he wants us to talk about but I do know that it's not going to be good. What if he wants to call of the wedding? I would go crazy if that happens. I have to make sure to take him off guard before he says anything he has to say, and I also have to sabotage his union with Luna.
He doesn't want to have sex with me because he is being loyal to Luna. If I succeed in getting us to have sex and if I send proof to Luna, their relationship will be strained and right now I'm in my fertile period, I will definitely get pregnant. It will be like shooting two birds with one stone.
One night with Ace and I will accomplish a lot.
I'm currently in the wine bar drinking. I thought of using sleeping pills but seven declined, he said to use Viagra. I intend to slide pills of Viagra in his drink, lots of pills.
Ace loves to drink and he won't be able to resist his sexual urge and he'll have no choice but to have sex with me. I'm going to secretly do a sex video and send it to Luna and make sure to leave the next morning before he even wakes up, before he knows it, a lot of damage would have been done.
"You said you wanted us to talk". I announce the moment he walks into the living room.
"Yes we do, we'll talk over dinner. For now, I need to freshen up"
"Okay then, care for a glass of scotch? You look stressed out" I say as I pour him some whiskey and surprisingly, he walks over to the diner, takes up the glass and gulps down in one go.
You do not want to know the quantity of Viagra pills I have dissolved in there. Before he's done taking his bath, he will start experiencing the effects and that's when I'll come in.
Luna might think that she has won this battle, but she has no idea who she's up against. I am Sophia and my name means "wisdom", there is no way she can win a fight with me. Ace is my man alone and no one, not even the woman he loves will take him away from me. That will only happen over my dead body.
