CEO Plus-Size Ex-Wife

Chapter 29: The Dream

Ch. 29 / 153 Dec 06, 2025

Sir, we were all under strict orders not to treat the little girl's mother; we had no choice but to comply," one of the doctors recalled, his voice tinged with regret.

The hospital's owner, Mr. Gilbert, had appeared suddenly while they were treating Rebecca and had threatened to withhold their salaries if they dared to go against his directive.

"Who was the hospital's owner?" Mr. Singers asked, his brows furrowing in frown.

"Mr. Gilbert, who passed away a few years ago. He was pressured into it by the CEO of Flo company," the doctor explained. He remembered Mr. Gilbert's frustration with the CEO's overbearing tactics, but he was powerless to resist.

Mr. Singers' fists clenched tightly, his face darkening with anger as he realized the truth behind his wife's death. His former boss had continued to torment him even after he escaped then.

Mr. Singers surprised the doctor and the head of the hospital management with his unexpected instructions to Tate: "Take them back to their homes and ensure they are compensated for their troubles."

They had braced themselves for the worst during the kidnapping ordeal, only to be released without a ransom demand and even given rewards for their ordeal.

After leaving the site, Mr. Singers didn't return to his mansion as expected. Instead, he headed straight to the airport and booked a night flight to Vegas City.

Meanwhile, Andrea was unaware of these events as she lay sound asleep. Suddenly, she furrowed her brow, her hands gripping the duvet tightly as sweat formed on her forehead.

Waking abruptly, she winced in pain as her sudden movement jolted the fetus in her womb. Descending from the bed, she strode towards the door and opened it, intending to make her way to Mr. Singers' room. However, Housekeeper Win intercepted her on the way.

"Ma'am Andrea, Mr. Singers has gone out to meet an important client. He asked me to inform you once you are awake," Housekeeper Win told Andrea, whose already worried expression deepened.

"I had a dream about him," Andrea suddenly disclosed.

Housekeeper Win was taken aback by this revelation, but she refrained from prying further into the dream. Instead, she gently guided Andrea to a seat in the living room and proceeded to fetch her a glass of water from the kitchen.

It was only 4 a.m., and some of the household staff were already up and about.

"Ma'am Andrea, did you dream about Mr. Singers?" Housekeeper Win inquired with a warm smile. She had always believed that the mansion would never have a lady of the house, as Mr. Singers had never shown any interest in women or brought any into the mansion in the fifteen years she had worked there.

She was genuinely pleased that Mr. Singers' marriage seemed to be going well.

Andrea's stiff nod prompted Housekeeper Win's smile to brighten. "Ma'am Andrea, Mr. Singers will be delighted to hear about your dream when he returns. Don't forget to share it with him," she said cheerfully.

However, Housekeeper Win's expression quickly shifted as she noticed the worry etched on Andrea's face, sensing that all was not well.

"He was shot in my dream," Andrea finally confessed, her voice laden with anxiety and trepidation, her fear palpable.

In a moment of shock, Housekeeper Win froze. Having served Mr. Singers for fifteen years, she was well aware of the numerous assassination attempts he had faced and the complex nature of his dealings.

Despite the presence of numerous security details surrounding Mr. Singers, Housekeeper Win believed it was impossible for anyone to reach him. "Ma'am Andrea, there's no need to worry. With those bodyguards around Mr. Singers, such a thing would be impossible. It's already morning; let me take you out for a walk. It's good for the baby you're carrying," she reassured Andrea.

However, Andrea's worries only seemed to grow despite Win's attempts to calm her.

After breakfast, a car pulled up to the mansion, driven by one of the company's drivers.

"Mrs. Singers, Mr. Singers has requested your presence at the office," the company driver informed Andrea.

A frown creased Housekeeper Win's face as she cast a suspicious glance at the company driver. Before she could respond, the house telephone began to ring.

Hurriedly, she made her way to answer the phone.

"Hello, this is Win speaking," Housekeeper Win answered promptly as she picked up the receiver.

"Hand the telephone to Andrea, it's Agatha speaking," a voice crackled from the receiver.

Housekeeper Win promptly passed the phone to Andrea, unaware of Mr. Singers' directive for Agatha to leave the city and her suspension as his chief of staff.

"Thank you," Andrea chirped, taking the call before handing the phone back to Housekeeper Win.

With astonishment, Housekeeper Win observed Andrea trail the company driver to the waiting car.

"Ma'am Andrea, where are you off to? Why not stay put at home? Mr. Singers will return shortly," Housekeeper Win expressed her concerns about the sudden departure orchestrated by Agatha.

Anxious to see Mr. Singers, especially after a troubling nightmare, Andrea dismissed Housekeeper Win's suggestion. "Mrs. Win, I can't rest until I speak with him," she insisted, declining to wait for Mr. Singers and opting to follow the company driver instead.

As Andrea settled into the car, Housekeeper Win hurried back inside the house to dial Mr. Singer's phone number. However, her attempts to reach him were in vain as his phone was switched off.

A look of fear gripped Housekeeper Win's face as she paced around the room, consumed by anxiety.

After the car pulled away from the mansion, Andrea, seated in the back, gazed out at the passing houses with a furrowed brow. A sense of unease washed over her as she realized they were venturing into an unfamiliar neighborhood. Just weeks before, she had visited the Singers Group with Mr. Singer and was acquainted with the area surrounding it.

"Where are we headed?" Andrea's voice quivered with panic.

The driver abruptly hit the brakes, turning to face her with a menacing smirk.
